Would stay again!
My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks at Dreams Il mare (the private "pods" on the beach) Overall our stay was great! We really enjoyed the Il mare section of the resort. It was adults only and the view from the room was amazing. We were right on the beach and while most people are pool people we are beach people and we basically had our own private beach. We saw very few people on the beach for two weeks which was amazing for us! The pods are fairly new so they were in great shape and all the beach chairs were nice not falling apart as I've had experiences with in some other places I have stayed. The water is a bit rocky so I recommend water shows but worth geting in, its super clear and the snorkeling right in front of the beach was great! My husband and I enjoy diving and the dive shop on the resort (Goby Divers) was great, very friendly and informative staff. When you stay at the Il mare section you also get butlers that are there to meet your every need. Anything you need you send them a message and they take care of it for you. Even bringing you food and drinks to the beach if you ask them. And they do so with a smile. Jacob and Sheny were both amazing butlers! Daniel the bartender at the Blu bar was also awesome. As I said we had a great experience. I have no idea if you're not staying at Il Mare how the rooms or anything are. We ate at those restaurants and the food was pretty good. But the restaurant at Il Mare was very good! We ate there quite a bit. Overall I would recommend.

A Beautiful Destination Undermined by Poor Coordination and Missed Expectations
A Beautiful Destination Undermined by Poor Coordination and Missed Expectations My wife and I planned a group trip to Curacao to celebrate her 40th birthday and my 39th. We booked six couples into the new adults-only *il Mare* section at Dreams Curaçao, expecting a seamless, high-end experience based on both the resort’s marketing and Hyatt’s involvement. Unfortunately, while the island itself was incredible and we made the most of our time, the planning process and several failures during the stay left us disappointed. Booking & Coordination – Far Below Expectations We booked through Hyatt’s reservation service under the impression that having a point of contact would simplify handling a large group. Instead, it became the most frustrating part of the process. * Communication was extremely slow. Emails and calls often went unanswered for a week or more, and follow-ups were required just to get basic responses. * We were told there might be group perks depending on the number of rooms, but no one could confirm what the threshold was. By the time we got a guest list together and asked the resort directly, we were told those requests needed to be made at the time of booking — months earlier. * The spreadsheet that was supposed to collect everyone’s info was incomplete, which meant I had to chase down details myself. * The included shuttle transfers were also mishandled. Despite the booking confirmation showing airport transfers and the resort telling us to go through the reservation service, flight details weren’t coordinated until days before arrival. Some guests waited up to two hours at the airport. When we arrived, my wife and I — the people the trip was for — weren’t even on the shuttle list. This was supposed to be handled professionally, but it created unnecessary stress and confusion right before the trip. Arrival & Butler Service Issues At check-in, we were told that each pod had butler service with group communication coordinated through WhatsApp. Only one of our six couples was properly added to the system on day one. That meant no way to request transportation, room service, or maintenance the first night. We couldn’t even turn off a light in our pod and had to drape a towel over it. I had to go back to the office the next day to request that the rest of us finally be set up — something that should have been done as soon as we arrived. Discussing the birthday plans also should have been finalized well in advance, but instead had to be handled after check-in, when we should’ve been relaxing. The Klein Island Excursion Disaster Our booking confirmation included a complimentary excursion to Klein Island. We scheduled it for the morning of my birthday for our entire group. We took taxis to the dock — $22 per person roundtrip — and were told by Blue Fin representatives we were on the third boat. The first two left, and after 30–40 minutes of waiting, we were told there was actually no third boat. We wasted the money, the morning, and a major part of the celebration. I felt terrible for dragging everyone out early for nothing. The only reschedule option offered was Sunday, when one of our couples was leaving, meaning they never got to use an experience they were told was part of their stay. Birthday Bash Mismanagement The birthday bash package advertised online includes a long list of amenities like bottle service, beach setup, a multi-course meal, late-night snacks, and more. I asked about this months in advance, but nothing was confirmed until days before we arrived — and only after I pressed again. Once we spoke to the onsite manager, we learned many of the advertised elements weren’t even possible. Still, I was prepared to go forward until the failed Klein Island excursion on the morning of my birthday — yet another example of expectations not being met after being assured everything was arranged. At that point, after multiple issues leading up to and during the stay, I decided to cancel the birthday bash altogether. Weeks later, I’m still waiting on the refund. Maintenance & Facility Problems These pods are barely a year old, yet we had repeated issues: * The door to our pod literally came off the hinges as we left for my wife’s birthday dinner. I had to hold it up and prop it back into place. * The light that wouldn’t turn off the first night. * A full power outage lasting most of a day — no AC, no lights, no charging. * My power adapter was blown by the 220v system, and our pod had fewer USB/USB-C ports than others, which made charging devices difficult. * One of our guests walked into their room to find a housekeeper lying on his bed — a situation that should never happen. Cleanliness & Environment The resort grounds are beautiful, but the maintenance of shared spaces was disappointing: * At night, sitting at the outdoor bar was almost unbearable due to a strong sewage/garbage smell. * Room service trays left outside pods were scattered by wind, leaving trash in the sand, bushes, and rocks. * The wind can’t be controlled, but trash management absolutely can. Positive Highlights Despite everything, there were bright spots: * The staff at the resort were polite and tried to help where they could. * The pods themselves were beautiful and the views were incredible. * Snorkeling right off the beach near the pods was surprisingly great. * Zoëtry, the sister resort, had amazing food — far better than Dreams. * Drinks were consistently good, and service at the pool was attentive. * The day we finally made it to Klein Island (without the full group) was fantastic. * Exploring the island, especially the capital city and the beaches we visited by van, was the true highlight — none of which was due to the resort. To his credit, the onsite butler manager went out of his way after our complaints to try to make things better. He coordinated a private dinner and decorations for my wife’s birthday, which we appreciated. His effort stood out among everything else that went wrong. Checkout & Follow-Up At checkout, we were offered compensation in Hyatt points due to the issues we experienced. The written agreement originally required us not to leave negative reviews, which I refused to sign. They removed that condition, and I agreed — but I still have not received the final paperwork or the full amount of points promised. We are also still waiting on the refund for the canceled birthday package. Final Thoughts Curacao itself is gorgeous, and we made the most of the trip because of the people we were with and the beauty of the island — not because of Dreams Curaçao or the Hyatt reservation process. The service during planning and several operational failures during the stay fell well below what we expected from Hyatt and from the “luxury adults-only” experience the resort promotes. Between the booking failures, excursion mishandling, maintenance issues, sanitation concerns, and follow-up delays, I can’t recommend this resort in its current state. The location has incredible potential, but the execution — from corporate coordination to onsite delivery — needs serious improvement.

A trip that feels like home!
IL Mare in DREAMS Curaçao was everything we ever could’ve hoped for in a beautiful and magical trip! We will cherish this trip for a lifetime and we will 100% be back!

Much better than the reviews say.
We used our UVC free nights for this visit and did not expect much from the reviews. We wanted to try Curacao because my wife scuba dives. The resort is quaint and peaceful. If that is what you would enjoy, Dreams was on the mark. if you want lively and entertaining, it may fall short. A lot of people complained in reviews about the cleanliness and it needing to be updated. We did not find that to be an issue at all. There were some aspects that needed attention, but on par for most resorts we've visited. We have seen much worse. Another common complaint was the food being mediocre and service being very slow. The buffet could be much better due to lacking variety, but the other restaurants were great. We did not experience any issues with service other than one woman being rude when we entered the restaurant through the wrong entrance. She continued to be unfriendly when we saw her after that. We had a garden view room which was nice at night with the view of the island and street lights along the roads, but during the day, it was just the casino rooftop and the parking lot for most the view. We honestly were very happy overall with the experience and the setting was beautiful.

I will not return
I stayed in room 535, and unfortunately, my experience was not great. The room had a stale odor, the shower was dirty with hair, and the ceiling panels were covered in dust and dirt. Housekeeping did not service the room on the first day. On the positive side, the specialty restaurant was delicious, but the buffet was very disappointing — there were even birds flying around and landing on tables in the buffet area, including where the food was served. The bar was just average. To make matters worse, the air conditioning went out during my stay, and the water pressure was poor. I reported these issues to management, but the situation was not resolved. What makes this even more disappointing is that I brought a group of 23 people across 11 rooms to celebrate my 50th birthday, and the overall experience did not meet expectations
