10/10 Experience – Already Missing It!
Where to begin… I’ve only just arrived back today from a 10-day holiday and couldn’t wait to write this review! This was my first time in Mexico, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. My partner, however, has been three times and said this was by far the best hotel he’s ever stayed in. The Hotel: Absolutely amazing. It had everything you could possibly want: daily pool activities, a Saturday foam party with full-on entertainment, a Michael Jackson tribute night, karaoke twice a week (my fave!), a dessert shop, and so much more. I genuinely cannot fault the hotel. They even had 2 huge pools, one more lively & children orientated and the other more relaxed which was amazing! The Staff: The staff went above and beyond. A special shoutout to Vagenelis at the steak restaurant, who made our anniversary dinner extra special, and to all of the poolside staff who constantly checked in to see if we needed drinks. They work tirelessly every single day – true stars! Housekeeping: The room was cleaned daily, and the cleaning staff did an absolutely incredible job. Every day we came back to a spotless room, fresh towels, and beautifully made beds. They even paid attention to the little details – everything was always perfectly in place. The cleaners were also super friendly and respectful, and you could tell they took real pride in their work. Dining: We tried the buffet and every à la carte restaurant – the steakhouse was our absolute favourite, closely followed by the Italian. It’s worth noting that restaurant reservations open 24 hours in advance, and they can go quickly. We only missed out once or twice, but I recommend setting an alarm to book on time. Transport: The hotel is about 35 minutes from the Hotel Zone. Taxis can be expensive, so definitely take advantage of the free shuttle, which runs three times a day. Like the restaurants, shuttle reservations open 24 hours ahead, and it can be tricky to boo if people are in big groups. Set that alarm! Beach & Seaweed: Yes, there is a seaweed issue, but the hotel does everything they can to manage it. They use machinery and rakes throughout the day to keep it under control. Because of this, there isn’t much of a traditional beach, but this is common across Mexico and other coastal destinations like the Dominican and Florida. Late Checkout: Be aware – late checkout is pricey. It’s $25 per hour per person for the room, plus $10 per hour per person to use the amenities, which adds up quickly. Something to keep in mind if you have a late flight like we did. There is however a communal shower room if you didn't want to pay this. Safety & Atmosphere: I felt incredibly safe throughout my stay. The hotel is in a gated, private community, which added peace of mind. It was also a lovely mix of people – everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Tips: - If you’re into the party scene, you might prefer staying in the Hotel Zone as this resort is more secluded. - Ubers cannot pick you up from the hotel, but they can drop you back there, which was super helpful when we couldn’t get a shuttle in the evening. All in all – 10/10. I loved my stay and would 100% return. I’m already sad to be home!
