Beach attendant Tenisha and overall trip
Hello we were at Royalton Negril on March 6 for a week The resort is beautiful and almost everything was just great. The beaches wAter was so clean and clear. When we were on the beach we noticed for the whole week we were there that , I would like to say that due to the Diet Coke from the bar was always flat we kept saying that the machine needs to be fixed. For some who only drinks Diet Coke and seldom any alcohol it was disappointed for us. Tenisha went out of her way to find good Diet Coke that was not flat. She was very pleasant and understanding and wanted to keep us happy. I would say she was outstanding on her service to us on the beach. She deserves an acknowledgement from Royalton owners. We had a few minor details that the staff correct for us. We were served a broken glass but with all the ice in it you couldn’t tell until you actually brought the glass close to your face. They immediately changed it for us at the tex mex restaurant. The food there was great and also at calypso and the steak house was also amazing food. We were a little disappointed when we went to zen the ambiance at our cooking table was awful. All the chefs did was cook in front of us, they didn’t even talk to us and try to get the crowd interaction. We even had to make reservations for this restaurant. In Canada we’ve been to many and it’s alwAys a show in Canada. Perhaps you can retrain your chefs to interact with the guests so that they have a memorable enjoyable experience. We would go back to Royalton Negril, but not right away. Thank you Tenisha- your work ethic is impeccable Stay well in these very difficult times everyone Maria L
Thank you so much! Sending Love from Canada!
My family and I headed to Royalton Negril to celebrate my wife’s birthday and seemingly seconds after we got airborne the situation in the world changed dramatically. I can’t not say how thankful we were to be in the hands of the amazing staff at Royalton Negril during this wild time. Our butlers Kadeam & Danesha were wonderful. The energy they spent on making sure we were okay while they were, essentially, being laid off was unbelievable. We are incredibly privileged and to see the selflessness of the staff (bartenders, servers, groundskeepers) makes me emotional. The amount of times someone asked my family and I if we were okay and reminded us to stay safe was incredible. I hope that Royalton will make sure that their truly beautiful employees are able to stay safe in these coming days as things could, potentially, deteriorate rapidly. I will return to Jamaica as soon as possible and I hope that our “do over” will allow me to see the people who made this past week an incredible week even while it seemed the world was descending into chaos. The Royalton property is so beautiful, the facilities are fantastic, and the food is great. But, truly, the people that work at the resort are the ones that really make Royalton Negril special. Big shoutouts to our butlers Kadeem & Danesha, Phillip, Kerry-Anne, and everyone from the Diamond Club Pool Bar, Meggon and Tracey-Anne and all of the people who made sure things were smooth amidst the chaos. We hope that everyone is back when we return. We also hope Royalton does right by their employees at this critical time. Big Love and Stay Safe! Love, Levis, Gina, Stella, and Judah
Nice resort, friendly staff
We stayed from March 10-19. It’s a beautiful resort, great beaches and pools, diamond club is a must...shout out to butlers Averdon and Franz, extremely friendly and helpful and considerate of our needs. When we first got there, took us to building 5, the room had a moldy smell and we were moved to building 1 within 24 hours, the building is the farthest one which was nice and quiet but had it’s own private outdoor eating area and the pool was wonderful, heated until the last 3 days when they turned the heat off(because of the virus, lot of people were canceling their vacations), the food was a bit disappointing, had no pork all week. We tried many of restaurants including the one at Hideaway(had to purchase a bottle wine to eat there). The last 2 nights only 2 restaurants were open as they were combining the guests from this resort to the resort in Montego Bay. It’s a good sized resort, get used to walking. Nude beach is right next door but it didn’t bother us. No lobster on the resort menu. Had to walk about a mile to get lobster fresh made on the beach, not bad price either.Don’t forget the jerk chicken. We will go back to Negril but not to Royalton, would like an adult resort. We had few problems, but management tried to take care of the issues. The pools, beaches are beautiful
Definitely not 5 star service
On the positive side, the rooms were beautiful, tastefully decorated and cleaned daily, the whole resort appeared luxurious, the gardens well kept, entertainment excellent centred around the Martini Bar and main stage, with live music most nights until 11pm to suit all age groups. On the negative side, the food in the buffet was lukewarm at best but often cold, food in a la carte restaurants poor, steaks overcooked, food lukewarm. Service poor in the buffet restaurant but a bit better in a la carte areas, a few staff eg Rory in buffet restaurant work really hard to try to improve service but this has little impact overall as tables not set up properly, on a daily basis we had to ask for crockery, cutlery and napkins, drinks not offered and staff not giving eye contact to enable guests to ask for what they needed. I was not the only guest to complain about the food temperature and poor service. I expected much more than I received.
Nice resort nicer people
My wife and I spent 8 great days from 3/3-3/11 at this resort in the Diamond Club section. We originally were hesitant to stay in Negril because of the distance from Montego Bay airport. The drive was at least 90 minutes on a rough road but I think the ride is worth the beautiful destination. Our next decision was were to stay. We decided that 7 mile beach area might be too busy, so we decided on the quieter Bloody Bay Area. The beach in this area is not the soft white sand, but the water is clear blue with little seaweed. You can walk safely on the beach for a good half hour. We were periodically approached on our walks to buy things, but a “no mon” was respected. There are some craft shops on the beach as well as a place to buy fresh lobster. There is a nude beach as you leave the resort to walk. It is a very narrow section, only 48 steps long. Their chairs are back from the water, so if you look straight ahead, there is no problem. We decided on the Diamond Club because we wanted a beachfront room. We were in building 2 and our room was very nice. There is a small refrigerator which was stocked with coke, sprite, bottled water and Red Stripe. We had double sinks, double headed shower, separate toilet area and a tub. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was big. We overlooked the Diamond Club pool and beach. The pool was big, warm, had a swim-up bar and was never crowded. The beach and pool area had waitress service. There is also a bar/grill behind the pool. Cedrick provides great service behind the bar. You can order food from a menu or get food from their mini buffet of salad, fruit, chicken, fries and nachos. The Diamond Club Lobby is between buildings 1 and 2 and has food and drinks available throughout the day. Okeen provides excellent service. There is also Butler service provided in the Diamond Club. We witnessed a wide range of service provided by these butlers. Ours were not very helpful. I felt that the food was only average. They have a good variety and no one should leave a meal hungry. I thought the buffet was good. They always had meat, fish, pizza, stir fry, salads and plenty of desserts! The restaurants were good also and since we eat early, there was no need for reservations. We enjoyed eating outside at each meal. The Vibe team was very energetic and friendly! They provided entertainment in the afternoon by the pool and nightly entertainment on the stage. We also enjoyed the fitness team who provided yoga and water aerobics by the pool every day! Overall we had a great stay! The resort is new and beautiful and their employees are very kind and friendly. We will not hesitate to return!
