SADLY, NOT A 5 🌟. TOO MANY ISSUES
Firstly, the positives for this hotel. The location on Bloody Bay, is beautiful. The food was good overall and we couldn't complain for breakfast and the al acarte restaurants in the evening. Always enough choice, for us. Most, but not all staff were friendly and helpful. The good ones are being let down, by their colleagues. For the negative aspects of this hotel, sadly there's just too many issues to mention, for it to be considered 5 star. The rooms would be lovely, but they're in desperate need of renovation. Bits of wood falling off and wardrobe extremely hard to open, etc, etc... The corridors are the same, broken tiles everywhere, alarms constantly going off, rain leaking in on the 1st floor!, broken external & internal emergency exit doors, dirty plates and glasses left for days ( even in the emergency exit). They constantly ran out of items , twice at DC Grill Bar they had VERY limited food options at 1pm in the afternoon. They ran out of beer, cola & some spirits in multiple bars! Once on one wet afternoon, we decided to have a couple of drinks, before went for a meal, we ordered 2 greygoose vodkas , the barman decided after 1 drinks, he didn't want us to have either the greygoose, belvedere vodka or spiced rum and took the bottles into a 'staff only' room on the righthandside of the DC Grill Bar, He told us, it's finished, but they clearly weren't. He told us drink some other brand. Unclear, if these premium drinks were to go to another bar or being put aside for another reason. Coffee pods & tea bags in the rooms, are a rare commodity, use them sparingly🙄. They don't seem to replenish these items in your room. We only had 3 tea bags to start with. & a coffee bag, which you couldn't use in the machine. Ended up getting 5 pods for 10 days afyer multiple requests. There seems to be a problem with whoeveres doing the ordering or they're making savings. Twice our room wasnt cleaned and no fresh towels and they smelt awful because they don't dry with humidity. Beach towels are like gold dust. If you don't get them by 9.10am, you don't get any thay day and the lady in the towel station is just rude. We found the DC area just ok, nothing special and definitely NOT worth the extra cost. It's marketted, by TUI as 5 star luxury, but I'd give it 3 ☆ at most. The DC pool could get very lively at times and loud especially when the indivual groups start playing their own music, on top of the music provided by the entertainment team. This isn't the hotels fault, but just to be aware. Lastly, and most concerning was the sewage, that made the beautiful sea, go from blue to poo, after rainfall. The smell could be overpowering on the DC beach. If you thinking you'll have a nice 5 🌟 relaxing holiday, this is not holiday for you. TUI & the hotel management, spoke to lots of guests, who had similar issues with the accommodation but nothing changed. I never normally do a review, but what was meant to be a special holiday, we felt very disappointed with all the issues we encountered at this hotel. It could/ it should have been soo much better 😌

Most Definitely not TUI platinum
Booked this last year with TUI advertised as a 5star platinum….. This resort was nowhere near that level… Lets start with the positives, the room was amazing clean spacious and really comfy beds. Now what lets this place down is 70% of the staff, as a British guest i found id be ignored at the bar over an American with a dollar in his hand( now im not saying im against tipping but i like to do it after I’ve received the service im giving the tip for) The hotel generally looks run down and tired. Now the food, generally the buffet restaurant was spot on but the pre bookable restaurants where generally really under par and most times you book when you turn up at your booking time there is a problem and they dont have your booking and after some moaning and groaning they get you a table 15 mins after. Loved Jamaica did some trips and saw the island, would return to Jamaica but not to Royalton.

No Hot Water or Adequate water pressure in 4 DAYS!!!!
We have been to Jamaica a dozen times and stayed at the Royalton over 7 days (between Negril and Montego Bay). What started as a family vacation of 4 increased over the years to a family vacation of 11 this year. It has always been an amazing experience up until this year. All 11 of our party went without Hot Water or Water pressure in our respective rooms for 4 days (6 rooms in different buildings). They would not move us to other rooms that had water as they said many of the buildings had the same issue. As a result, 5 of our party ended up with Colds and one with Fever. Another big disappointment was the Pizza place (Grazie) by the main pool that had a take out window we can get a pizza for lunch was closed. When we asked why, the staff said to use the App to make reservation but that the take-out window was closed for the week. We tried making reservations on line - only to be told in confidence by one of the workers that the restaurant is actually closed to guests and was being used as Cantina for workers. The one time we actually were able to secure a reservation at a restaurant (Calypso) was a disaster. We got their for our reservation at 8:00pm, they gave us a buzzer so they can let us know when the table was ready - and 45 mins later, we still were not called. Everyone waiting for table that night had the same challenge. Our party of 11 left to go find food at buffet as we were all starving by then. The Vibe team was not as present as they were in the past. Astro and baby Dragon were still there (amazing), but many changes to the team and the "party atmosphere" was not the same. The best show was the Vibes Dancing show. The Vibe team should be highlighted MORE not LESS - they add such value to the experience. Also, we are in Jamaica, we want to hear reggae and local music - this year, Pop music was played at the pool. One of the amazing highlights/improvements was the dessert area. Shadee (hope I am spelling her name right) was the most welcoming and pleasant employee bar none. Amazing individual and excellent baking skills. It definitely improved the dessert selection and taste (which in previous years was not as enjoyable). This is the first year that our Family has agreed it is time to move away from the Royalton Resorts. The sale of the Royalton may be the reason for these - and other issues that I cannot be bothered to write up - but I cannot recommend the Royalton that we experienced this year. Every other year, it would be a solid YES. Management needs to take this feedback and others I see online and make changes to ensure loyal customers like ourselves keep coming back.

Worst hotel ever
My 7 days stay at Royalton Negril was disappointing. From the smell of mold in my bedroom ( that I asked to be removed from) to the restrictive restaurant open hours, long walk to the buffet, I have experience better quality services and ammunities in other hôtels in Jamaica . Based on what I have expérience the 4.5 rating for this hotel is overated. This is really a 3.5 hotel.

First & Last Time Staying Here With The Roaches
We visited this resort for a family member J friends wedding & it was the first & will be the last visit here 🥴 I have been to Jamaica sooo many times but never to Negril & I see why well this resort anyways let’s start at my sister & I brought children & we requested multiple times for a blanket for my son to sleep on the pull out they finally brought a blanket the night before we left 😞 Our shower had mold & I took pictures this resort makes way too much money to have mold in the shower & roaches yes there was a baby roach in our tub & I got pics of that too there was also roaches in the dinning hall I took a video of it when I went to get an egg omelette 😳😱 needless to say I didn’t want anything else from there & the next evening another woman was screaming & yelling about the roach she had just seen once again in the dinning hall and again they make way too much money for this to even be an issue I didn’t even know Jamaica had roaches because I have NEVER saw them in NO other resort but I do always stay in Montego Bay & they upkeep their properties! The kids loved the ice cream polar but I kept wondering why they give all of the kids the cups with their ice cream until the day I asked for a cone it was sooooo stale because they don’t put them away they leave them out until they are eaten 🤮 They have these seagulls or whatever kind of birds they are & they allow them to jump up on people’s tables & indulge in their food 😤 they dis this to a special needs guy & he was sooo scared he wouldn’t eat anymore I had to get up & go get his plate to put somewhere else so they would get off of his table. My son & a lot of others were sick when we got back & we found out there were several people that had salmonella from the resort 🥴🤢🤮 Got home & found my Versace perfume was gone along with a new pair of my sister’s sandals & because I r go to Jamaica often we do tip very well but this trip we shouldn’t of the service was not great at all I wouldn’t recommend this resort & I know I WILL NEVER BE STAYING HERE AGAIN EVER THIS WAS A HORRIBLE FIRST & LAST STAY VERY DISAPPOINTING 🙄😞😡
