This hotel has a lot going for it. Great beaches and great food and an easy vibe. I would definitely stay here again. However, security is almost non-existent and there were groups of youths steaming through the hotel and past private rooms. Security turned up 15 mins after the youths had run off. Security at all other hotels is taken very seriously which indicates there are security issues. You don't have to be a nudist to stay here. There is one nice beach where they go. All the other beaches were for swimwear users.
A great location for sunsets over the sea albeit a little remote. However it is in need of updating of rooms and more evening entertainment would be good. You will need a car if you want to explore the rest of the island as busses are few and far apart. The hotel has lovely gardens and beautiful beaches, with friendly staff. The food is generally good if a little plain at times. Overall, a good place for a Caribbean experience.
This was our 4th annual visit. We love the peaceful and idyllic surroundings and feel this makes it excellent value .It I would be hard to find anything like this in the Caribbean at this price. As mentioned by other reviewers there are a lot of issues regarding some accommodations and food. Where are the cheese and biscuits? Although we found some improvement in quality of meals. I must praise the gardeners. The grounds looked well kept and not much goat droppings around. We also encountered some local w***ers on Eden beach while the security guards were having a nice snooze in the beach shelter. Very annoying. My only real complaint is regarding the ice used in the drinks. It is used to cool beer bottles and glasses. Not very hygienic and can cause upset tummies. We will return. Let’s hope it doesn’t get taken over and changed too much.
We were a group of six who all had a great time and met loads of nice people. Seen other reports and agree with some of the comments but if you want a good time you can relax and get it here. Lovely beaches although the sea was a bit choppy our second week, pleasant staff and the food was fine. Rooms do need updating but we have been elsewhere in the Caribbean and these are not much different. Had a bit of rain, mostly at night but when it rains, it rains which is why everywhere is nice and green gardens etc. Place is dry again in minutes. The only thing I would recommend is taking plenty of bite spray because the little buggers are forever at you. Would recommend this resort, good 3 star holiday.
This is not the resort for everyone. It's charm does grow on one, and the fact that there appear to be many repeat visitors tells its own story. But, there's no doubt it's seen better days. The rooms are basic (and we had by far the best one); the plumbing is a challenge with a real risk that there would be insufficient water in the shower to rinse off shampoo etc.; the kitchenette was really a disgrace. As one of the repeat visitors said on our first night "you don't come here for the food" (which turned out to be true), but there was never a moment when free alcohol was not readily available. The staff were charming without exception. The location is superb with four wonderfully empty beaches. It's quiet, restful and generally clean. We were lucky to be upgraded to the best room; I would suggest to go as superior as you can afford. One of the attractions which brings people back to Hawksbill may be Eden Beach, the only naturist beach on the island.
