Truly a Legendary Week in Paradise
This was a special week for members of Legendary Hard Rock Resorts. Special activities all week with tours, dinners and entertainment. So many special people to reconnect with since this was my 5th. time at this particular resort. First let me thank our butler Keyla. She had already contacted me weeks before arrival to help with getting reservations for the weeks fun filled activities. Member services was Rolado aka Rolex who checked in daily to make sure all was well. Was able to meet in person Juan Carlos Vega my Hall of Fame rep who has helped me with arranging vacation since my husband passed away. Daniela at Hacienda was there for hugs and tears over that sad news. Mornings started with a walk to Ipanema where Nancy or Daniela were hostessing. Carlos was always our ever so efficient and friendly waiter. Caio was my go to for lunch and Isabel was the hostess. Erika the waitress was there making me welcome. Manny and Martha were in Caio for my only breakfast. Wonderful meal in Los Gallos with Tere as our wonderful waitress. Each day our room was very well cleaned and organized by Oliver. Joshua was the Heaven Lobby waiter who kept my sister’s glass filled. Did some shopping in the Rock Shop Heaven Lobby and had a big laugh over some of my secrets with Gavin and Eduardo. Really loved all the activities and dinners but 2 memorable activities. Did some volunteer work at a small school that is supported by RCD Foundation. My favorite more adventuresome activity was at Rio Secreto. Our guide Angel was not only informative and interesting but very careful with us old codgers, along, with his photographer Christian. Of course last but not least my favorite entertainment was Patrick and the Swayzees. If you haven’t seen this group yet, please do. Everyone working at Hard Rock Riviera Maya deserve kudos for this wonderful week. Too many names missing from this post but love to all who now are going through some rough times.
Family Spring Break Trip
All of the staff was wonderful. Alberto took care of us each day by the pool. Jesus was also there to help on Alberto's day off. Veronica our house keeper and Santigeo took care of us at dinner. We loved our entire stay. We will be back to this resort.
We stayed there from March 15 to 20 then we were moved to hard rock Cancún due to Coronavirus and resort was closing completely. Everybody was so helpful from check in to servers at the pool to concierge girls trying to help us to find out if our flight was cancelled or not . Thank you so much to Maria who was always coming to see us at the beach to make sure that we had everything we needed. Take some bread and feed the fishes at the lagune. It is an experience ...too bad we couldn’t stay the 10 days in that resort. It wasn’t busy at all and we really enjoy the relaxing time at the beach, restaurants and the pool, completely different experience that our regular March break holidays.
We stayed at the resort for two weeks from 2/29-3/15/2020. The resort, as always, was extremely clean. They were taking special measure in regards to the Coronavirus. The staff was amazing, from the bartenders who could make a drink by your flavor profile..ask for Joaquin, JC or Julio!, to the team of butlers who are willing to help each and every guest even if you aren’t assigned to them...Pam, Coral, Pita, Abraham, Bryan, Tony and Elias we can’t say enough about you all!! They have several restaurants on site in a wide array of tastes, Brazilian, Italian, Mexican, French, Chinese/Japenese teppanaki , and a buffet. Our favorite this visit was the French, Le Petit Cochan...Maria is a big part of what makes this place such a success! She is attentive, friendly and keeps things running extremely smooth. Diana at the hostess station is always happy to see you even if you don’t remember her name, she remembers yours. The entertainment staff does a great job both by the pool and at the nightly shows and special events to keep you busy! DJ Warrior, Tarzan , Ivy Queen, Brian the Mayan, Gerry, Mr. Bacon, Midori, Liss, Gabby and Lucy are just a few of them that went out of their way to play the music we wanted to hear and have fun activities that they adapted when the pool was “Chilly” and people didnt’t want to go in. We do not have kids but they have a multitude of activities for kids at the resort: zip lining, Woodward skate park, a water slide and another water park, snorkeling in the lagoon areas, kayaking. The entertainment staff will blow up floaties for you if you bring them and they have pool parties where they provide floaties for the guests to use too. There is more food choices by the pool on the Hacienda side of the resort so many days we were there for lunch rather than the adult only side.
Great vacation despite 25% occupied
We booked Rock Legend status which gives you access to a butler and special beach and pool privileges. The butlers were amazing because you could book all your dinners through Jessy and Coral and get anything else that you might want just by texting them on WhatsApp. During the pandemic they squeezed hand sanitizer on everyone's hand as you entered any room, and all buffets were served to you by a waiter on the other side of the buffet. People who had been there before said the food selection was dramatically less than before, but I suspect that would only be because of the lower numbers at the resort. The rooms are well designed but smallish. We travelled with our 11 year old and had two double beds separated by her trundle bed, which worked well. The beach area is unaffected by the scourge of the algae that other Mayan beach resorts suffer from as they have a large natural barrier that protects their perfect little beaches. I would definitely go back. Towels are just handed out...IKR! Thats crazy, no cards.
