Playground Paradise
Activities include playing in the giant ball pit, crossing the crocodile river, gliding on the mini zip line, and sliding down various slides. This is in addition to the obstacle structure we’ve had in operation for several months, which consists of an elevated obstacle circuit at 12 feet (3.65 m) high with varying levels of difficulty.
To use the obstacle course, slides, and soft play area, parents must read, agree to, and sign the Vibe City liability waiver. No child may enter the areas without the supervision of a parent or guardian. Children can use both amenities as often as they like, always following the instructions of Vibe City staff. The soft play & slides area includes 8 obstacles, 6 slides, plus a toddler area for children aged 0 to 3 accompanied by their parents. The large obstacle course features 17 different obstacles, 3 exits, and 1 entrance, all within a safe environment of nets and soft platforms.
The maximum capacity is 10 for the toddler area (including parents and children), 15 participants for the soft play & slides, and 18 participants for the obstacle course at the same time, plus 2 staff members.

Rules

Apr 29, 2025Nice Resort but in need of serious renovations!
We spent 8 days there in April as a family with 3 teenage kids and my in-laws. We visit the area every year and this year decided to pay extra to experience the Hard Rock. We had the deluxe terrace room, which is conjoined rooms, one with direct stair access to an upstairs terrace. Although we generally had a good vacation, be warned that the resort is not what we would consider 5* and has requires some significant renovation work. Pros: Friendly staff who seem to be doing the best they can to help you. Nice resort grounds and pools. Rock memorabilia around the hotel are a nice touch. Great entertainment and activities compared to other resorts Comfortable beds Restaurants do not require bookings (but expect significant wait times depending on what time you arrive, sometimes over one hour). Food was on the better side compared to other resorts but not great. Cons: Do not be fooled by the larger room square footage. The rooms are SMALL – most of the space quoted is taken up by the terrace. You have to squeeze between a hot tub and the bed to access the door! The rooms are very dated and maintenance has been severely lacking. Almost everyone we talked to on our trip had complaints about this. Some examples: Shower / faucets randomly stopped working. When they were working water pressure was between good and a trickle. Shower faucet handle broke off Our kids got locked in the bathroom TWICE because the latch stopped working. One of them was stuck in there for over 2 hours as they didn’t have their phone to call us to let us know there was a problem. The solution from the maintenance guy was to crowbar the door open by breaking the door frame. This caused us a lot of anxiety about the fire hazard. The patio door did not open and when they came to look at it the response was “well, are you even using it?” The “fix” meant that if you were a strong male you could just about open it. Again, felt like afire hazard. Room had Nespresso coffee makers that needed replacing twice. Gave up on this in the end. Air conditioning was either fully on (freezing) or off. When on it was very loud. Rodents run through the corridors at night cleaning up the room service food that has been left outside rooms. Our room was cleaned 3 times in 8 days and only because we asked. You have to constantly request re-supply of water etc. otherwise you will get nothing. Good luck getting a pool lounger. Why spend $15k+ on a trip when you can’t even sit by the pool. Try tipping the pool attendants significantly and they will help. Half of the waterpark slides were closed due to “maintenance”. No real beach – just a seawater lagoon. Good for young kids though. The resort feels like it is set-up for “members” with reserved access to loungers etc. Mere mortals cannot even pay to rent a reserved lounger for the day (we tried). So if you want to drop $100k+ on membership go ahead. Restaurants have paid-options for upgraded food. Do not recommend this. I tried the lamb and refused to eat it even after sending it back twice. It was just a lump of fat interspersed with uncooked meat. There a lot of stairs in the resort, most of them in disrepair. How we did not fall down any of them during our stay was a bit of a miracle. To top it off, our private airport transfer at the end of the trip did not even show up and we had to pay $180USD for a cab. Not the fault of the hotel, but beware of using this service through Westjet or Nexus Tours. Overall, this is a 4* resort with 2* rooms (think Econolodge or Motel 8 level). The resort is pretty good for families but if I came here just with my wife for a relaxing vacation, I would be extremely disappointed.

Great stay back at HR Riviera Maya! Amazing vacation week, and Moises and Paola our butlers were amazing - they treated us like family and took care of everything for our group of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids) Everyone had a blast, will of course be back!! ☀️😎

Every time I come all the staff are so kind I tried to find a problem and I couldn’t I love how they have classes or computations every day some you have to pay for but you get a prize if you get 2nd or 1st the place it is awesome and every part is better then being at Disney world and I love the warm weather

Great service and very nice. Victoria at Frida and Alex at the cabanas were great!!! Max in the lobbies also great. Everyone treated my family very well and especially the kids. Thank you so very much we can not wait to come back and visit again.

Family Vacation
We had good times staying at Hard Rock Riviera Maya. Daniel & Paola went above & beyond to take care of us everyday. Reserved chairs by the pool every morning to shows in the evening & restaurant reservation. Will definitely come back to this resort. Thank you Daniel & Paola for everything.
