Amazing place and Manny gets an A++
The best wedding event I ever attended! Everything was absolutely perfect. First: rooms absolutely perfect and clean. Wait staff: respectful and attentive, never bothered us to push for an extra tip. Being at many different resorts, this was a large place, lots of fun, tons of restaurants, never had to wait for a table, and absolute perfection. Finally, out butler Manny was amazing. He was very attentive, responsive, kind, and genuine! Always tried to help….. never said no…. Just “ let me see how I can assist. “. Thank you for making my family’s wedding so so special!

Hotel service
We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos with our family and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, beautiful, delicious food and very family-friendly. A special thank you to Mar, who was extremely kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. She truly went above and beyond to assist us and made us feel very welcome. We really appreciated the excellent service and would highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic views at a great resort
We are Hall of Fame (HOF) which allows us to work with a butler service for our dinner and spa reservations. This is our 6th trip to HRLC and we always go in January because we love to see the whales. Typically, the weather is a little cooler with winds, but we had beautiful weather this trip on all but one day. So, we were very fortunate with that and saw amazing sunsets as a result. We truly enjoy this resort because of all of the pools and options for dinner. Here are my thoughts on the major categories this trip: Room: We were in a Presidential Suite on the Octave side—towards Nobu. It’s a nice room but we enjoy the Chord side better—but couldn’t get in this time. Probably OK because the Doma that they are building really infringes upon that side of the resort. To the point that if you stay in the Echo side or go to the Eden group of pools, you’re looking right into the construction without a view. It’s pretty sad, in my opinion. Dinners: We ate at all of the restaurants, but enjoyed our dinner at Toro the most because our server, Karina, was fantastic. Very personable and checked in with us often. Did the Teppanyaki at Zen which is always entertaining, but we seem to recall we used to get shrimp—but only beef and chicken were served this time. We ate a 2nd time at Zen ala carte and Pilar and Hilari were very fun and really took care of us. This is typically a several course meal, and we had a great time because of their spirit. Jose at Ciao was really good and we enjoyed the food there—but the dining room (inside) had maybe 4 tables used but the music was super loud. Quite annoying as we didn’t experience this in any other restaurants and it was hard to hold a conversation between the four of us. Pools: We typically stayed at the Legendary pool which is on the same side as our room. It has the best whale watching and isn’t as crowded as other pools. (Although the Eden side was bare due to the aforementioned construction!) Sergio was great as our server every day. And we went to visit Fredy each evening before he closed for a drink at the Legendary Pool Bar. Both of these guys really enjoyed their jobs and we enjoyed getting to know them! We’d also like to give a shout out to Cesar and Tony at the Moonlight Bar. We met them last year and visited them each day now because they are just great guys to talk to. This bar is also a great place to watch people! Chetan, our butler, did a great job and so did his partner, Edson, especially with the reservations and pool location. The only negative I would share is that we had a LOT (6?) of weddings the week we were there, so we heard all of that from our pool and from our room. Not knocking marriage at all—but sometimes the weddings were a bit loud and you’d have their music and speeches battling the pool music. Overall, we will be back next year as usual because I can’t get enough of the whales. And now that we have gotten to repeat our servers and butlers, it really feels like home!

Don't be fooled by a positive YouTube
Ugh! What a terrible experience! We knew before even getting to the hotel we were probably going to regret coming here because after several communication attempts both a couple weeks prior and several days before arriving we had no confirmation if the hotel had accepted our request for either private or shared transportation from the airport (which is a big deal in Cabo, taxis are very expensive and not recommended by anyone). We were willing to wait for a shared one or pay 2x for private... we just wanted a confirmation! All we got was hopes and prayers once we landed at the airport that someone from Hard Rock was going to be there. We also tried to arrange for a $500 romantic beach side private dinner, as well as a top tier couples massage package leading up to our trip and no one would communicate effectively with us so we could book those (you have to email their 'vacation planners' a few weeks out and they require 48 hours in-between communications, which wouldn't be a big deal if they actually held themselves to this standard). We got multiple emails back that were just empty, only showing whoever sent the emails signature and our original text. So we'd have to repsond asking what the email was supposed to say and the 48-hour response waiting period reset all over again. We tried to go through multiple vacation planners, too, and they all lack any sort of service oriented mindset. Then we got to the hotel and it just got worse from there. Someone was greeting people at the door and giving us a spiel on the way to the counter, then we got the same spiel at check in, and once you turn around someone else is giving you the same spiel before you even leave the velvet ropes (literally blocking other guests with thier luggage). They should reallocate some of this staff that over communicates once you get here, to the vacation planning side to help those trying to get things done prior to arrival. And then of course our room was dirty. Housekeeping missed the simplest of details (previous guests' razor in the shower, hair in the bathrub, mold on bathroom vents, not resetting the alarm clock that unexpectedly woke us up). Feels like absolutely no attention to detail in the room. We ordered room service and a bucket of ice that never came. Almost an hour into our waiting we called to inquire an ETA and they said another 40 minutes. We requested to cancel the whole order, and we went to bed. 15 minutes later someone showed up with only the bucket of ice and pounded (not kidding, it was not a polite room service knock) on the door 3 separate times by the time one of use could find the light, get some kind of clothing on, and get to the door (and we're young, spry and completely sober!). Felt very rude. And the worst part of all of it was being embarrassed by a manager at dinner. We did a teppanyaki dinner at Zen for our anniversary and were making friends with our tablemates when close to the end of the meal service (after the meat was dished but before the dessert) a manger from the hotel came up behind us and wanted to talk to us about our experiences (we had expressed our rough start with everything we were wanting to book and couldn't while checking in). Where everyone could hear everything, disrupting them I'm sure and making us uncomfortable for how much detail to go into and it was just awful. They served the dessert (ice cream on something puffy) while the manager was talking to us and ours just melted everywhere while talking to her making a mess and so we wouldn't enjoy eating it. It was a dinner I surely will never forget now. We booked a stay here because of one favorable YouTube video. We should have read through all the other reviews that have the same complaints we do, and the same cookie cutter 'were working to get better' response from HR.
