What We Love

  • Talk about convenience, this resort is only a 5-minute ride from the airport. And where else can you swim in a grotto cave?

Things to Know

  • Bermuda is the perfect place to go for a quick vacation escape...only 2 hours from most east coast gateways! What could be better?
This resort is nestled amid 21 acres of beautifully landscaped, oceanfront grounds. Lush, manicured property features 3 private beaches and some of Bermuda's most protected ocean waters. Attractions include a large freeform pool, boats and other water sports gear, and snorkeling/diving on a wreck near the beach.

Flooded with saltwater and theatrically lighted to highlight transparent, turquoise water and limestone stalactites and stalagmites, two large underground caves provide dramatic swimming options to the ocean and freshwater pool. Appreciating the underground caves is not just for swimmers. Enjoying their beauty is possible from wood benches terraced into the walls.

Grotto Bay Beach Resort also features a 100-yard pink-sand beach that runs along the ocean, supplying sunbathing on lounge chairs and swimming in a calm bay. The large freeform pool lies just above the beach and has two sand sunning terraces. Secluded nearby in a garden, a spa tub offers soaking for eight, the perfect way to relax after a fun day on the beach.

    Pleasant Bayside Resort

Grotto Bay is a well kept tradition near the airport in Bermuda. It offers spa services, dining and has a pool with an nice setting overlooking the beach. The layout of the resort is hilly, and that is important to note for those that do not want to walk far. No elevators here. The spa service in the caves was excellent, and memorable, however the lodging lacked luxury, and poolside lacking services at the time we visited. It was an average stay in an above average setting. Good for convenience and the spa experience, but if staying there look elsewhere for beaches to explore...

    Excellent location, staff, & room

The location can't be beat as it's just across the bridge from the airport (although you can't hear the planes landing/taking off) and there's a bus stop right in front of the resort. The front desk staff was always friendly and accommodating and the room was immaculate. The view was delightful. The one thing I should warn folks about is if you have trouble walking up/down steep terrain, this place is NOT for you. It was quite a hike from our room to the building containing the lobby. We really enjoyed the cave on premises to the point that we didn't make it to the others nearby (also, it's free at the resort and not nearby). We got to-go food one night from the only onsite restaurant open and while it was tasty, it was very expensive. We ate and drank at Swizzle (a block away) all the other times, and I'll review that place separately. If we were ever to return to Bermuda, we would definitely stay here.

    Great stay at Grotto Bay

I went to grotto bay with my fiancé and we had a great vacation. Property: well maintained, beautifully landscaped and clean. The view across the bay is the airport but you barely hear the planes come in and the view of the water is still great. The beach is smaller, especially when the tide is up but lots of chairs but there wasn’t many people at the resort while we were there. Rooms: clean, spacious, soaps and conditioners provided, soft towels and VERY comfortable bed and pillows. We stayed at Oceanview on the right of the property and the views were great with a balcony. Staff: Everyone was friendly and attentive. Kionne at the bar was personable. Dario in the dining hall was funny and a great waiter - enjoyed his stories. Entertainment: It was either their slow season and they don’t do bigger night shows until it picks up but this was really the only thing this hotel was lacking that we are use to at All Inclusives. The comedian was funny Sunday night and there was a historian one night and we missed the dance party on the weekend. Pool: it was too cold for the pool when we were here but they have a jacuzzi that is nice and hot when the weather isn’t! We did two days at the jacuzzi. If the weather was warmer the swim up bar would have been great. Food: one of the best resorts for food. Did the breakfast and lunch buffets and they only had one of two restaurants open and the food was delicious. We were on the all inclusive meal plan and glad we were - I think we would have spent a lot more money if we weren’t - Bermuda is expensive for food and drinks. We took the kayaks out from the dive shop and toured around the island that’s in the bay - saw some beautiful fish. We did the cave massage (very expensive but if you can do it it is a neat experience with the droplets dripping into the water from the ceiling of the cave). We also were able to borrow a scooter from a couple and we toured the whole island in a day - I wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t comfortable driving a scooter especially if you aren’t use to driving on the wrong side of the road!)

    Excellent stay.

This is a wonderful hotel with top quality staff. Please can we make a special mention to Shakeem who took the time to rectify an issue we had with our room efficiently. The food is excellent. Portions are plentiful..all freshly cooked and hot. The staff, without exception, are a team of friendly, helpful, dedicated professionals. Nothing is too much trouble when staying at this hotel. It is simply one of the best places we have stayed. The only feedback we would have is when on an all inclusive rate, it is a little disappointing not to honour the all inclusive package until departure, as we usually experience in other hotels. We did not check in to the hotel until after 7pm on our first night and the all inclusive package ends at 11am on the day of departure . So we effectively paid for but missed out on a part of our AI deal. Based on flight times. Other than that, we had a perfect stay, and hope to come back.

This hotel is outstanding the staff are so friendly and polite, the beds are very comfortable and rooms immaculate. We are staying in room 462 on the 2nd floor. Whilst there is no lift, that doesn’t bother us as it helps to burn off the calories from the 1st class food, talking of which we normally avoid buffets and going all inclusive, but given the price of eating out in Bermuda we decided to give it a try. There are some buffets (which are excellent) but you always have the choice from the extensive Ala Carte menu for no extra charge, the soups and salads delicious. The hotel is near the airport and so far we have not heard anything. The local bus service which will get you almost anywhere on the island (via Hamilton) is just outside, with tickets that include the various ferries. After reading various reviews we were a little apprehensive but greatly surprised, you will see I have written very few reviews but on this occasion feel compelled to as it so good. If you are ultra picky then I’m sure you will find something to moan about but for me, keep up the excellent work Grotto Bay!
