  Amazing time at Grand Velas

  Had a great time at grand Velas and been coming back for years, top-notch service, and super quality person Julio, the bartender in the karaoke bar was amazing and had a great Mixology event. We had a great time there. . The restaurants and the food, top notch, highly recommended for families and couples as well since the resort have two different sections for both adults and families

  Top Notch

  Just returned from a short trip to GV and was thoroughly impressed with our stay on the Ambassador side. We got there early morning and our room was available much earlier than the normal 3pm checkin. The room was quite large and all the amenities you would expect in a high end resort. Our concierge Braulio Lopez was amazing, I would consider him the best concierge we have ever. He was responsive, and took care of our request timely and always willing to go the extra mile. Resort: 8/10 - clean, well taken care of, public bathrooms were spotless. There was more mosquitos than what we would have expected so the kids got eaten up a little. They do provide bug repellent in the room but probably need something with more deet. Food/Drinks 10/10 - We ate poolside, Sen Lin (our favorite) and at Piaf. Each meal was special in it's own way and the mixologist were amazing Pool 8/10 - we spent all our time at the Ambassador pool, huge pool and where majority of the entertainment was. Only negative was there wasn't always somebody there who setup the pool chairs for you and tons of bees at the swimup bar. Plenty of chairs and towels available. I would also have liked some special touches like somebody who comes around to clean your sunglasses or somebody who provides you Evian facial spray as we've seen at other top end resorts. Kids Club: 10/10 - our 10 year old loved the activities in the kids club, kept her engaged and she was always willing to go back. Beach - 2/10 - If you're looking for a beach this isn't the right resort for you. You'd have to go up to the hotel zone for better beaches. Overall - 9/10 - after staying at Impression Moxche, Atelier, all the Excellence branded hotels and Hyatt Zivas/Zilara, the Grand Velas has taken over the top spot for us. We're looking forward to another stay at GV RM or GV Cabo.

  Amazing Place and Awesome People

  We have stayed at many resorts in the Cancun/Play del Carmen area, and the Grand Velas is truly the best. Food - incredible, Service - beyond exceptional , Spa - fantastic, Pool - just wow! Traveled with a 1 year old and they had everything we needed and more. Thank you for making our trip so special. I few standouts - Lio, Tayde and Jorge!!!

  Perfect Family Getaway

  Our family had an amazing stay at Grand Velas Cancun! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The property itself is stunning — beautifully designed, very well maintained, and truly luxurious in every way. Every corner feels cared for, from the immaculate landscaping to the spotless common areas. Even the public restrooms were impressive — always clean, well-stocked, and kept to the highest standard. The resort is clearly well-staffed, and it shows in the level of service and the care taken to maintain the property. We went during the slow season so the resort was mostly empty. The kids had an absolute blast — I’ve never seen them enjoy a kids & teens club as much as they did here. The activities kept them engaged and happy, which made the trip even more relaxing for us as parents. A special thank you to our concierge, Braulio Lopez, who truly went above and beyond. He made sure every detail of our stay was perfect, and even surprised our daughter with a bubble bath that made her feel so special. We also celebrated both my son’s and my wife’s birthdays at the resort, and the team helped make those moments unforgettable. We did get quite a few mosquito bites on our first day. Each suite came with repellents, and when we mentioned it to Braulio, he immediately brought us a stronger one and arranged for our room and balcony to be fumigated. — a great example of how attentive and proactive the service was throughout our stay. The dining was outstanding — hands down the best food we’ve ever had at a resort. Every meal was excellent, but our favorite spot was the buffet Azul. The views were beautiful, the food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was wonderful. A special mention to Miguel, who took such great care of us each time we visited Azul and made every meal even more enjoyable. Overall, Grand Velas Cancun gave us an unforgettable family vacation filled with joy, celebration, and incredible hospitality. We can’t wait to return!

  Third time stay…

  This was our third time at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. There are so many options for hotels/resorts in the area but we keep coming back to Grand Velas. They make the entire stay incredibly easy and relaxing (especially traveling with young children). All inclusive resorts in general sometimes food can be hit or miss. You don’t really have to worry at GV—all the food is great, varied and the restaurants top notch (there is one that is Michelin rated which was great for an adults only meal). And although we have no food allergies they always asked up front prior to any meal so you can tell they try to be very careful in preparation for guests where needed. The SE spa was spacious, clean and comfortable. The Kid Club has gone through renovation (and other areas still progressing) which the children very much enjoyed. They had varied activities for kids throughout the day for engagement and the staff was always friendly and attentive to the children. We’ve also utilized babysitting services which was helpful that they offer on property. The pools, beach and grounds are very well maintained. The pools are expansive and never felt crowded with different areas. Loved that children could stand in one shallow pool area so they can have freedom to play with less worry. Also the bigger, deeper pools have seating along the edge of many areas so felt very safe for kids along the sides if they are still building swim confidence. We enjoyed the swim up bars where kids loved to order popsicles or frozen drinks. The overall resort staff were always friendly, polite and helpful if we had any questions. All rooms are suites so no matter where you are you will have a comfortable stay with plenty of room for a family with a deck or balcony (some with mini plunge pools). Our butler Braulio was the best. While we had butlers during past stays who were all very professional, this time we really felt Braulio went above and beyond. He was very attentive and really tried to make our stay for us and our kids memorable which we truly appreciated. Thank you Braulio! The stay is pricey but the resort is absolute quality so we will keep coming back if we can!
