Feb 02, 2026Great resort with a few short comings.
Location: Close to the airport, even with 3 other stops before us, it only took 30mins to get there. Beach: Great,.. nice sand, plenty of thatched shade and beach’s were kept clean of seaweed. Nice if you want to go for a walk a long the beach. Beach vendors did approach you but a polite “No thank you” was all that was needed. A few might try harder than others but just say no. Atmosphere: Staff are great and provide great service. If you greet them with a smile they return it in kind, very friendly and helpful. A little tip is welcomed. Rooms: Clean and modern, comfortable beds. Cleaning services always kept the room clean. No complaints there. Just have to figure out the direction of the faucet to get hot water out. Noise level: Didn’t find the resort music or evening parties too load. Rooms seemed quiet and didn’t hear other guests. Might depend on how mindful guests are of others. You can always have some bad luck and get a noisy neighbour but that’s not the resorts fault. We were on the top floor. Food: Meals at the à la Carts was good, maybe slow at one, but hey you’re on vacation so relax! If you have kids that are hungry then think about getting earlier reservations. No problem booking reservations for a few days in advance. Buffet was also good, could always find something for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything tasted good. A lot of variety each day. Breakfast maybe not as much but hey do you eat something different each day for breakfast at home? If you can’t find something to eat,..then you’re just too fussy! Now the short comings, 1st, a small one, we arrived from the airport at around 10:00pm,.. by the time we checked in and got to the room and then walked around,.. everything had closed for food at 10:30. You could get room service that you would have to pay extra for, but it could take 45mins to get something. After traveling all day that was disappointing to not find something open to get a snack. Suggestion for the resort,.. get a few air-fryers for some place and serve mini pizzas, chicken bites, French fries, nachos and things like that. It can be cooked in as little as 10mins. Or a microwave for a Pizza pocket, pogo, takes a minute to heat. Maybe at the reservation desk, have some muffins and cookies. Just something for a snack for late arrivals would be greatly appreciated. Now the bigger short coming! Not sure what happened to the umbrellas at the resort but they almost all disappeared! In the photo of the resort there were umbrellas all over the place. We found only 5 at various spots around the pools, if you don’t get one of the shade beds you’re out of luck. So people start putting out towels early in the morning so they can have shade. Otherwise you’re in the sun a lot and if you have kids that’s not great especially with UV levels and skin cancer. Not everyone wants to be a red lobster! Some of us burn and not tan. We chose this resort thinking from the photos we would be able to find some shade when we wanted it. See their own attached photo with all the umbrellas! Maybe build some of those thatched shade shelter you have at the beach near the pools instead of the umbrellas. Not sure what is more maintenance long term though. Please get back the umbrellas for the future, this can be a deal breaker. Respectfully Michael.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Food was great and the spa was amazing. Although we did not travel with kids it didn't affect our relaxing time. Would definitely return

Rooms are beautiful, hotel itself is very esthetically pleasing: staff is wonderful! But! The food is almost horrible, buffet is very small not enough options, restaurant reservations are always “booked” but half the restaurant is empty while you’re passing by.

Incredible stay, highly recommend!
Just spent an amazing 6 days and nights at Paradisus Grand Cana and cannot recommend it enough for families with kids. Staff was so nice and attentive, from the time we arrived until departure. Rooms were roomy, beautiful and very clean. The kids club not only has an incredible building (different rooms per age of kid) but engaging fun staff that my kids adored (shout out to Emmanuel who was incredible!). Beach was clean and fairly easy to find seating, as were all the pools. Biggest perk though was the waterpark - what an amazing set up! They have 3 separate sections for different ages, as well as ice cream, and snacks located inside the location. We stayed for hours! Would definitely return to this amazing location!

Amazing Family/Birthday Trip
I just came back from my trip with my family to celebrate both mine and dad’s birthday. I wanted to try this hotel after my last negative experience with the Melia hotel for our annual family trip to Punta Cana. Experience From the minute you walk in, looks beautiful. We were on the family concierge and I have to tell you if you can do it. It’s so worth it! We arrived and were escorted to the concierge area for check in Hotel is much more modern looking and the rooms look exactly like the photos. Very spacious, clean. When we first arrived in the room I had a bottle of wine and cake waiting for me for my birthday. Such welcoming gift. For concierge and r also received a free liquor bottle of Brugal. The mini fridge was stocked daily with beer, soda water and juice. Pool was huge and they have a swim up bar which was great and people going around serving drinks by the pool. I will say the water was a little cold though but nothing some rum couldn’t fix. The water park was great and so much fun to hang out in. We also had lunch there where we met these amazing workers. I have to give the biggest shout out to Darlin! This woman was so accommodating the many times she served us, was friendly and caring towards our family! The beach was great too! Not much seaweed and the water was pretty clear because they have the barriers set up. The hotel has different activities throughout the day for families and children of all ages. At night there’s always entertainment and a DJ right after. Definitely lots of fun and if you love to dance you’ll have a blast! The spa was amazing. They had a promotion for a facial and massage. I ended up feeling relaxed and refreshed. Food- Our first night we ate at one of the restaurants called Mangu. My family did not enjoy it. We asked for well done steak and the steak was medium, we sent it back for it to come back medium well. I ordered asopao and it just didn’t taste as fresh. The second night we had a reservation at Agua Marina and the food was not good. After waiting more than an hour for our food we couldn’t believe what we received. The salmon was inedible. The chicken was the size of maybe half an apple in length and was spicy. The potato it came with was a small golden potato cut in half. The regular margarita tasted bitter but the passion fruit one was good. Even the French fries had a weird taste. We all ended up not eating all the food and went to snack at the buffet afterwards. My sister and her husband ate at Tori they said the food was okay but they servers were a bit rude to them. Sal on the other hand was amazing! This was on our last night there and boy did they redeem themselves! That was clearly the gem of restaurants. My family said the ribs were amazing and the steak. I purchased a lobster tail and all of us ate from it how big and delicious and fresh it was. It was honestly the best birthday dinner! The buffet was hit or miss honestly. Some of the food just looked reheated and dry, some was lukewarm but others were amazing! Like for example the mangu one morning needed salt, but the next day was over salted then another day it tasted authentic. There was a pollo guisado one night and lamb chops that were 11/10! Family Concierge We ended having two since we had multiple bookings. We ended up in a group chat together. Our concierge was Gustavo and Kenia. Wow both of them were absolutely amazing! They reserved restaurants for us each night, booked spa packages, Sent daily activities, checked in each day, and created birthday surprises for my dad and I on our birthdays. They were super friendly, attentive and even when I was sick one day went above and beyond to check in and take care of me. I have to say they made the experience amazing!! Gustavo and Kenia really up until the last minute were what made this trip unforgettable! Overall I will definitely be back because while there were some hiccups with the food it was still an overall great experience. This birthday trip was one for the books! Thank you for the great family/birthday trip!
