The service is not the same as you to be. Impossible to make reservations for dinner for 12 people. Even if we do a line for close to 1 hour.

Do as much or as little as you want. Activities for all ages through out the day, water park was amazing. Staff was always smiling, happy, ready to help. Food overall great and diverse. Kids club was friendly and our daughter had a good time. Family concierge was worth the extra. Thaina was amazing and attentive. She made our daughter’s birthday very memorable and our stay very comfortable. She was Attentive and active sending us daily activities and letting us know what amenities were included with our stay. Access to mama Juana for breakfast/ lunch worth it. room service for breakfast amazing. House keepers and mini bar refiller always asked what we needed or wanted. Always someone around asking if you wanted a drink no matter where you were on the resort. Trolly to the beach fast and efficient, beach very nice and fresh coconut drinks ready to be cracked open. We actually walked to and from the beach 10 min. Restaurant was very good, they had buffet style as well on the beach and one if the days they were grilling burger and sausage right there as well. 2nd time using a paradisus brand, first one being our wedding in playa del Carmen 13 years ago and 13 years later with a family didn’t disappoint. Will def go back and continue to use the paradisus brand.

Beautiful place this was our first stay at this resort. The shows were very good we really enjoyed them. They weren’t too late as some resorts are.The biggest complaint is there are no umbrellas for the pool chairs. Never have I been to a resort that has NONE! Also miss having a specialty coffee shop. You could go to 1 bar that had a machine.

Feb 11, 2026Very poor communication and food quality not worth the money
This 4 night stay was an unpleasant experience. The resort has poor communication skills, whether the staff just doesn't speak English or amongst themselves letting us know what was happening. It's very difficult to get any reservations at the dinner restaurants, which are required. The first day we were told we weren't allowed to eat in a specialty restaurant. The 2nd day after standing in line we were told no availability. Our concierge tried to get us into a members only restaurant but they refused to seat us. We only got reservations for the 3rd and 4th night after we complained to the hotel manager(who agreed their entire reservation system was a problem). In addition we were forced to sit through a sales pitch for Melia's "Circle Membership". Added perks for future bookings at any other Melia resort. It was a JOKE (they wanted $2132 and $399/mo for 12 months). The grounds and room were beautiful and well maintained. But he overall service was so poor we will never go back. It was a HUGE disappointment and not worth the money. And the quality of the American food was poor also. I got sick my last day there from it. :(

Amazing stay - Family Trip with family concierge
This is our second year in a row coming here. We have a family of four - kids ages 4 and 6. We booked a master family swim up suite with family concierge. Our concierge was Omar - he was fantastic. The swim up pool access made our stay. Water park - smaller slides with separate pools and water depth. I don’t think teenagers would find this exciting enough, but it’s perfect for elementary aged kids or younger. Family concierge has earlier access to the park, which is great. The special events held there (pirates birthday, water balloons) are really fun. Restaurants - food quality seems to be the most common complaint here. It was entirely what I would expect for a 5 star Caribbean resort. I found the à la carte restaurants really good (especially the steakhouse and Hibachi). The buffet has enough selection and custom stations (eggs, pasta, grill, etc) there will be something for everyone. Beach - short five minute walk (even with small kids!) or a trolley ride. The kids liked looking for lizards and geckos on the way. It’s a busy beach but nothing unexpected for the Caribbean. People selling things there were very polite and not aggressive in trying to make a sale. The amenities there - including drink runners, towel service, restaurant - were nice. We tend to spend more time at the pool but do not let the walk to the beach dissuade you from booking as it’s really a non issue. Rooms - zero complaints, even from my (at times) demanding husband. This is a really great place to stay and we will be back. Well worth the money.
