What We Love
- Golden beaches, lush vegetation & gardens surrounding the resort that are impressive.
- No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.
- Working on your tan lines at one of the resorts three pools - the infinity pools views are stunning.
- A kid-friendly resort with clubs for all ages, waterparks and a "Raggs" show, starring five musical pups.
- Grabbing a frosty margarita at Viva Mexico and watching the sun set into the Pacific.
- Beachy and land activities - like volleyball, tennis, catamarans, snorkeling and more.
Things to Know
- You must take in the scenery as you venture to the resort - it's about 45 minutes to paradise.
- The beach town of Sayulita is only 30 minutes away and highly recommended - full of fun little shops and surfing.
- Spending "you time" at Zentropia Spa, but if you want to dip into the spa pools, it will be an extra cost.
- Be sure to check out the on site mini zoo. It's the perfect photo op.
- The seawater pool is adjacent to the ocean and includes a beach area, loungers and umbrellas.

This is an older property, but overall well kept. Note you are very secluded. Swim up bar and infinity pools, very nice. If you are not familiar with this area, you likely would not feel comfortable leaving the result outside of a tour. Be aware, on sight they have travel club reps, similar to that of a timeshare.
Amazing holiday highly recommended hotel
It was our first visit to mexico. We couldn't have chosen a better hotel.. The setting of the hotel was amazing with lots of greenery. The room we had was impressive we could see the pool and ocean from our balcony. We found the staff very helpful and pleased to help us if we needed any help especially Julian who was marvelous and was only to pleased to help each time we asked. The only person we encountered who was not pleasant was a barmaid at the beach bar who seemed irritated every time she was asked to serve a drink, the rest of the staff there were very pleasant. The beach was wonderful, we could see whales quite often which was fantastic. The only criticism here that it was sometimes difficult to find a sunbed, I think that it wouldn't be difficult to supply more. There were plenty of restaurants to chose from, I must admit that some where much better than others sometimes the food was not as hot as it could have been especially the Bamboo one. There was plenty to do there my daughter really enjoyed having free lessons on how to surf. The instructor was really helpful and friendly. We had a trip on the catamaran which was also free, along with a lot of beach equipment. The drinks and entertainment was plentiful and very enjoyable. I can't wait to visit this hotel again
Great place for family vacation with kids.
Great place for a family vacation with lots to do for kids young and old...Great selection and variety for meals, with extra attention to anyone with allergies. Food was great, staff was friendly and helpful, resort was well maintained but has a lot of stairs and ramps! Be aware if you have any mobility restrictions.
Don't waste your money
Upon 1st look the resort looks fairly nice. As our holiday unraveled we found almost everything in a Room to be broken or missing. We Add the spesso pods in our Room but no machine. Or air conditioning was broken the majority of the trip. Although the maintenance staff there was very helpful constantly trying to fix things they just couldn't ever do it Not for lack of trying. Almost all of the door knobs in our Room and balcony were broken or loose. Went to have a Jacuzzi tub with my child when I turned the jets on it blew sewer water at us was absolutely revolting. Also traveling with a family we had lots of luggage there was no place to put clothing no dressers or anything in the Room. By multiple light bulbs in our Room where out also had knobs fall off of cubbarts leaving exposed screws. Our mattress was horrible I could constantly feel Springs digging in to me I did ask to have it changed they did try to fix it by putting a mattress pad over which did help a little. Our mattress also leaked water? Not just from the humidity in the Room the sheets would actually be wet around the sides of the mattress exactly sure how that happened. Our Room is also very musty. On one good note the Room we did have was quite large with good living space. The pool for children Why is awesome our daughter thoroughly enjoyed it and the service at the pool was generally fairly decent. Restaurants at this resort were very hit-and-miss some of the food was delicious some of it was horrible also experienced very badd service in multiple restaurants. But some excellent service in others . All in all I would not return to this resort

I AM RE-SUBMITTING MY ORIGINAL REVIEW IN ORDER TO CORRECT SOME INFORMATION. The only negative I observed about this hotel were the cab drivers. Specifically, the ones who are in the waiting/holding area of the hotel. They will not allow any other cab, vehicle from a transportation company or an Uber to enter the area to pick up hotel guests unless you pay them off. I physically observed this practice twice. I can’t believe the hotel allows this to happen on their property. Our driver from a private transportation company had to pay $30.00 (dollars) in order for him to be allowed to leave the property to take us back to the airport. Practices such as these seem not only illegal, but these costs could possibly be passed on to the customer(s) without them even knowing what is going on. When you speak the language, you know what is going on. The hotel is quaint and not the typical mega resort some may be used to. There are no elevators at this hotel and rooms are situated on 3 levels. Plan on doing some stair climbing and walking throughout the hotel. There is a cute little zoo on site and there were a lot of kids at this resort while we were there. The hotel is very clean and the staff is always cleaning. Daniel assisted us at the front desk, and he was incredibly sweet and helpful. He offered us an upgrade however, we chose to keep our room because of the ocean view. We did ask for a late a check (1:00pm) out on 02/28/19 for our last day on the 29th and it was not a problem. Everyone we encountered at the hotel were very polite and always had smiles on their faces. STAFF – What a fantastic staff this hotel has! Jesus (bell desk area) was the first person we met when we arrived. He was funny and was super helpful. Victor (bell desk area) always there to help out too! . Rosa, who took care of our room was wonderful. Anything we asked for, she made sure we received it. Cynthia at the coffee shop was always smiling, chatting with you and making the cutest faces on your lattes! Jacqueline at the Zentropia Spa was so accommodating and helpful when I set up my massages. Angelita at the Zentropia Spa is an excellent masseuse, I had her for 2 massages and she was spot on! We had some maintenance issues that needed to be addressed and they were quick to arrive and quick to complete the work. A big shout out to Luis, he is the Manager of all of the bars at the resort. We had a great conversation with him and it is very apparent he takes pride in his job and his team. Armando who works at The Adults Only Pool took great care of us while we were there! Litzy who also works at The Adults Only Pool was fantastic and always smiling! Didier & Geraldo, also bartenders at The Adult Pool were fun and always made sure we were taken care of. Bernardo at The Adult Pool Bar turns the fruit into the most beautiful shapes, thanks Bernardo! Bernardo’s Brother, Antonio is a bartender at The Family Pool. He took care of us a couple days when we were at that pool. Gemma also took care of us at The Family Pool, she is new to the resort and does a great job and is incredibly sweet. Victor, who also works at The Family Pool was great and we loved the hat he was always wearing. Paul Martin – Serving us at The Lobby Bar – fantastic! Every server that took care of always remembered what we like to drink. Omar, is The Chef who prepared lunch at The Family Pool-DELICOIUS!! Rodrigo was great at assisting us making reservations for dinner. There also was a very sweet, young lady who helped us with dinner reservations as well. However, I can’t remember her name. Pedro who works in the entertainment area interacted with the guest’s, he was a blast and you can see enjoys having fun with the guests! My BFF travel partner used the gym often and couldn’t say enough about the assistance and help she received from Mario. Room service was quick! ROOMS – Request a room facing The Adult Pool and ocean, you will have a beautiful sunrise and breezes all day and night. Our bathroom was updated and the room itself was neat, clean, dark colors and slightly outdated however still appealing. There were 3 floors in the building we stayed in, we were on the 3rd floor and the balcony was rounded and very small. BEACH – The beach is private and there is plenty to do. There are also some vendors that are there as well. The beach area does have a beach bar! POOLS – The Adult Pool stays open until midnight along with the Adult Pool Bar. The Adult Pool plays a wide variety of music. You can also get towels at The Adult Pool, at the bar. The Family Pool is where all the entertainment is. Games, water activities, daily lunch that is cooked out on the pool deck and live music. Also, they start playing music at 7:30 am, it is low and tranquil yet still on at 7:30 am. DINNER RESERVATIONS – You can make reservations for dinner at The Guest Services Desk that is right off of the lobby, next to the hotel store. ENTERTAINMENT – There is always something to do at the hotel. Activities in the family pool, games on the beach and in the evening at the lobby bar, live entertainment. We saw the 3 Tenors while we were there and they were amazing. The live band was great too and so was the ‘Cirque du Soleil’ show. After the shows are over, there is a nightclub outside upstairs from the sports bar. SPA – The spa is good and the gym is upstairs from the spa. There is also a private pool there, steam room and Jacuzzi’s (hot & cold) there as well. WIFI – Great service throughout the entire hotel and the beach. TRANSPORTATION – I actually found this company while reading reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor. Alvaro, from Vallarta Vamonos was an absolute gem. Extremely helpful, down to earth, sweet and honest. He was on time and also assisted us with obtaining a fishing boat trip and we had a great time. When we were picked up from the airport, we stopped in Bucerias, a cute beach town on the way to the hotel. If you don’t want to stop anywhere, not a problem. If you do, that also is not a problem. The Girls from Chicago Date of stay: February 2020 Room tip: Request a room facing The Adult Pool and ocean, you will have a beautiful sunrise and breezes all day and night.
