What We Love

  • Golden beaches, lush vegetation & gardens surrounding the resort that are impressive.
  • No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.
  • Working on your tan lines at one of the resorts three pools - the infinity pools views are stunning.
  • A kid-friendly resort with clubs for all ages, waterparks and a "Raggs" show, starring five musical pups.
  • Grabbing a frosty margarita at Viva Mexico and watching the sun set into the Pacific.
  • Beachy and land activities - like volleyball, tennis, catamarans, snorkeling and more.

Things to Know

  • You must take in the scenery as you venture to the resort - it's about 45 minutes to paradise.
  • The beach town of Sayulita is only 30 minutes away and highly recommended - full of fun little shops and surfing.
  • Spending "you time" at Zentropia Spa, but if you want to dip into the spa pools, it will be an extra cost.
  • Be sure to check out the on site mini zoo. It's the perfect photo op.
  • The seawater pool is adjacent to the ocean and includes a beach area, loungers and umbrellas.

    PALLADIUM VALLARTA

Excellent service everywhere. Very nice room in a somewhat less "industrial" resort due to its smaller size. Some of the food could use improvement but all in all very decent.

    Not worth it

I was so looking forward to this trip. Our first time away from home for Christmas. We saw this resort was family friendly, had a private beach, and had water slides for the kids but we should have read further into the description of this resort as we were very disappointed. 1. The staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, and we did not feel welcomed at all. Simple requests felt like an inconvenience rather than part of basic hospitality. I’ve never felt that way at a resort before. Though I must call out one man named Tony who worked as a waiter in the main buffet area, he served us for breakfast one day and was so sweet and helpful. 2. The food was another major letdown, poor quality and not enjoyable overall. The only saving grace was the Japanese restaurant. The coffee was another major let down. Instead of a coffee bar they have self serve Nescafé machines which were terrible and also don't open until 7am and we have kids who are up at 5am. They do have a espresso machine behind the lobby bar but the staff refused to serve us and again pointed us towards the self serve machines. 3. The layout of the resort is also very strange and inconvenient, it’s all on a hill making it difficult to get around with a stroller and enjoy the property. Getting our room was also painful. We were given a room and went to access it and it turns out someone was already staying in that room. We then waited another 20 minutes for another room which was dirty and had someone's left over medication in there. So again we were provided another room but the room was in terrible condition. It was dusty, there were broken tiles, trim falling off, and a dirty moldy? shower. We also stayed in what is advertised as the “newer” section of the hotel, which we paid extra for. 4. We were also looking forward to the kids club for 1-3 year olds but unfortunately the staff paid zero attention to us when we went to tour the place, the baby area and all toys were so dirty, so obviously we did not feel comfortable leaving our toddlers there. The only positive aspect of this resort is the beach, which is beautiful. Unfortunately, that alone was not enough to make up for the poor service, food, and overall experience. We would not return or recommend.

Okay, stay for family with adult and teen kids

Overall enjoyed our stay . The service was friendly and responsive. Food was just okay, nothing great! Often food was served lukewarm warm. I also thought it was a miss that we had trouble getting change to provide tips! A lot of the stores, restaurants, bell men did not have change and the ATM only gave out large bills. Make sure you bring bills to tip . We had an exceptional concierge/ personal butler on the family selection side by the name of “Moises ” . He was very helpful and informative. Highly recommended you request him when you come .

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS . This is the worst hotel I have ever been to in my life.

I was greeted at the desk by Luis. There was some sort of hiccup with our reservation so they asked for an additional charge for my childre (4 & 6 yo). We are only saying for 2 days so I didn’t think it would be exorbitant. They wanted $950 USD for 1.5 days for 2 small childern. Luis this offered me an upgraded room (from our ocean front suite). He told me that it would be a king bed with a sleeper bed, closer to the pool, and twice as big. The fee was $60, but at this point I thought the extra space might be helpful. I got to the room and it was small, dark, has 7’ ceilings and smelled of mold. I was very confused as to how this was an upgrade from an ocean front suite, so I went to the front desk and asked to be swapped back to my original reservation. Carlos informed me that my original room was no longer available (what??). I said that unfortunately we’d need to cancel our reservation, and suddenly our original room reservation was available again. I accepted and I moved my own bags to the new room (on the 2nd floor without elevators). I walk into the new room and it was apparent what was going on. Luis had ‘upgraded’ my stay to a worse room further away from the pool and with worse accommodations. The new room had vaulted ceilings, natural light, and was the same size as the original. It even has a porch overlooking the ocean. So yeah, that’s what you’re going to get at this hotel. Terrible buffets, no restaurant reservations availableX an app that doesn’t work, spiteful employee (I was never anything but respectful and polite, Luis has NO excuse), and an overpriced guest fee/room. Go to Grand Velas and get your moneys worth.
