Relaxing paradise
Our PTC check in was great, Abraham made all our dinner reservations. We had the suite panoramic oceanview. The room and view were amazing. The WHALES put on an incredible show daily. We did the valentines beach dinner and it was a lot of fun, food and entertainment were wonderful. The restaurant we enjoyed the most was Portofino the eggplant appetizer and the chicken parm were delicious. We had breakfast and lunch at the nest which we enjoyed. We spent a lot of time at the quiet pool(adult pool) and bar which is only quiet of children 😂. Get the Armando special drink (mango and passion fruit blended with tequila)

DO NOT GO HERE.
This resort was absolutely awful. We did NOT get the room we paid for. There are no elevators anywhere and no help with luggage, so getting to and from the room was brutal. We were in Villa 2, which felt very outdated, with endless stairs. I have stayed at over 15 Mexican resorts and have never seen this many stairs. Completely unsuitable for anyone with accessibility issues. The room itself was below average. The balcony was so small that two people could not sit on it. The beds were tolerable but the blankets were just sheets. The air conditioning could not be regulated. It was freezing even when set higher, forcing us to turn it on and off all night. The bathroom was disgusting. The drain was extremely slow and there was mold everywhere on the ceiling, caulking, and jets, along with thick soap scum. I did not even want to shower. The floors felt filthy and your feet felt dirty even after showering. There were no drawers at all so we lived out of suitcases. The safe barely worked. The walls are paper thin and we heard everything from surrounding rooms. The food was terrible and got worse as the day went on. Breakfast was the least bad and the omelette cook at El Bosque was wonderful, but the options were bizarre. Lunch was only edible if you stuck to carbs. Dinner was clearly leftovers thrown together, including carrot and cheese pizza and hot dog pizza. Everything was cold, overcooked, bland, and chewy. The à la carte restaurants felt like reheated buffet food. The pools were murky and gross, slightly better only early in the morning. The adult pool had a better vibe, but the main pool was a chaotic drinking party. The swim up bar opened late and had birds nesting above it, pooping into the pool. There was no decent coffee anywhere, no mid day snack options, and drinks were watered down. This is hands down the worst resort I have ever stayed at.

Just Another Day in Paradise!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here as a family of 5. We travelled with West Jet and Nexus tours took care of the transfer to and from the resort. It went smoothly except for having to wait about an hour for everyone else to find the bus. Our resort was about a 45 min drive from the airport. We checked in about 8:30pm and our luggage was taken to the room for us. We had rooms 2243 & 2245 which were connecting rooms. Unfortunately the door between our rooms was locked and it took until 10pm for housekeeping to come unlock it. Rooms were average. Phone in our room didn’t work. Our view was great considering this was a garden room. We could see the ocean from both rooms. The breaker in our room occasionally went off. Safes worked well. The balconies were disappointingly small. Two chairs and a table took most of the space and if you actually sat down you are looking at the cement. The property itself was fantastic with lots of plants and foliage. Lots of ups and downs and stairs. Over 10,000 steps a day for sure. We saw geckos, iguana, a coati, raccoons, a giant sea turtle, various fish when snorkelling, humpback whales (jumping every day), and many birds. Bring binoculars to see whales. The beach was a mix of soft sand and rock. Bring water shoes for the rocky areas. There needs to be about 100 more lounger chairs on the beach. We struggled to find 5. I was able to snag them only on the days I woke up early. I was at the beach by 6:30am and managed to get them on those days. We saw a cruise ship going by. There is a place to get free boogie boards, snorkeling gear. Surf boards available for about $20 US for day. Lots of surfers at resort beside us. The food was good. Average. All 4 a al carte restaurants were good but Mexican one was the best. Buffet average. Staff took a long time to bring coffee at breakfast. Staff was average. We liked the omelet lady she was good at breakfast and server Roberto was always friendly at the buffet. Construction near the family side was annoying to hear but we weren’t in our room often enough for this to be a huge issue. I was glad we weren’t in the family selection area. Several areas were marked as for Travel Club members. We were not able to access a few places bc of this. The weather was fantastic the whole time. +26 . We took a Canopy zip lining tour with Vista Parais tours (the West Jet / Nexus tours recommendation). They picked us up at the resort. Very enjoyable. Overall a wonderful family vacation.

Thoughts on Grand Palladium Vallarta
The resort was the nicest I’ve been to in a long while. It’s super clean, nice rooms and while the resort is quite big, it didn’t feel overcrowded. The gym is excellent- every cardio machine you’d want, every weight machine and a separate room for free weights, benches, power rack. There’s even Gatorade available. The food was quite good with ample room in the dining room. My only complaint is with regard to the chairs available at the beach and pool. Not nearly enough. My first morning taught me that if you don’t get up early, you won’t get a chair for the rest of the day. I began getting up at 6:30am to get a chair and save it with my bag and towels. There’s natural tree umbrellas, but again not nearly enough of them for guests on the beach. Regular umbrellas and more chairs would solve this problem. Who wants to get up that early to secure a chair?? Other than this issue, the resort was very, very good.

6 th Time
We spent 12 days at the Grand Palladium, from Feb. 7 - Feb. 18th. This was our 6th visit to this resort. They have done some upgrades- Renovated the junior suites with new lighting , furniture and on one side of the building with new glass balconies. Upgraded the adult Bar area at the quiet pool. A few renos in the hemmingway bar. There were some toilet seats missing in the womens bathrooms by the lobby and the adult pool. There have been some cutbacks, like only receiving 2 beer in the fridge and not wanting to give more even with a tip, no more snacks in the room. They are starting to have new menues at the restaurants. We did not like the new menu at the mexican, the service was not good and we never did receive some of what we had ordered, hopefully it will get better as they get used to it. We did like the new Bamboo menu, food was good except for the ribs, not sure what cut of meat it was. We were there over the superbowl , and they put on a nice party, lots of good food and drinks. All of the staff at the resort are amazing and treat us like family, but the ones who really made our trip special are, Julio who only got to be in the hemmingway bar for a few days then moved to the family selection { hopefully he gets to go back soon} Victor, & Max who were in the Hemmingway bar. Yovanny from the lobby bar. Oscar, Armando, Bernardo who took great care of us at the adult pool. Juan Carlos, the evening bar captain, thanks for everything. Looking forward to a 7th trip in the future. Dale & Joanne
