Food is amazing. This hotel is definitely the best I’ve ever been too. Loved every minute of our holiday. So much choice for food and the pools are really nice the kids loved it deciding which one we go to each day.
I believe the resort is very nice, pools, grounds, rooms, service all outstanding! Sand was soooo soft however because of where the resort is the ocean was extremely rough and it was windy all the time, no snorkeling. The food was ehh okay, just resort food and really no seafood to be found. The specialty restaurants are okay. The sales people being EVERYWHERE was obnoxious and we tired of it very quickly, not for timeshares but for junk...trinkets, jewelry, pet the monkey, play with the parrot, buy my beads, braid your hair, take a tour, book a trip....ALL the time and a lot of them are in Paladium shirts. So the guy you have to see to get fresh towels is also hawking trips and walking around the pool bugging you. DON't go to the buggy trip...it was such a waste of money, on crowded pot hole roads the whole time, never in the jungle or by ocean as they advertise, then they stop 3 times for you to conventionally buy...you guessed it more junk!! Spent more time fending them off then going anywhere, rides were really junky too, we had 3 break down on our short trip.
This trip was a really short stay, but the hotel and the staff was Superb. From the moment we arrived, between the services provided from our dedicated concierge and the dedication and professionalism of the staff, our stay was really good.
Really really nice
Please don’t be discouraged by the negative reviews from a few spoilers. Things are not always perfect for everyone. Just a few honest observations from someone who traveled from Aruba to Mexico and DR on numerous occasions. From a modernized airport to renovated hotel you see upgrades right away. Hotel or 3 part hotel is really clean and covers quite a large area. It’s actually nice for romantic walks and dieting. There’s a choo choo train making rounds so you can get around quickly. As far as room maintenance we had no problem whatsoever...modernized and neat accommodations cleaned up as they should be and bar restocked daily. Houses are only 3 floors high so we didn’t waste time in elevators. Gardening is immaculate, with plenty of palm and green types maintaining wonderful atmosphere. Great for pictures backgrounds and no clusters of buildings.....space felt relaxing! Hotels lobbies were beautiful, clean modern, and had entertainment in the evening. Beaches are nice and spacious with pile of shade. True, we went in March but no crowds. Yes plenty of locals and salespeople asked by but no one was impolite. They actually spent few minutes with almost everybody. It’s part of the culture. It’s like coming to NY and expect no tourists. The pools were quite large and almost too empty, so we really enjoyed some alone time with drinks. And then we dined. I must say that grand palladium’s restaurants were so overstocked with food it was amazing. Impossible to try everything in one week, from pastries to baked goods, from sushi and caviar to fresh meat and fish grilled right on the spot, it was amazing. The buffet in Bavaro is surrounded by a cute pond making it so much fun and then it’s neat the theater for daily show and drinks events. Fantastic! We had a blast but every experience is different so try it yourself.....
Not worth the money
The hotel staff for the most part was friendly but a few bad apples can spoil the bunch. The rooms were clean but not designed well for a family. The walls for the bathroom were all glass, which might be ok for a couples only resort but not appropriate for a family. No service on the beach or at the pools...in 7 days I only had 1 wait staff ask us if we needed anything.
