    Hit and Miss

Overall it was a good trip. The place is super nice and clean and the people were very friendly. As in most places, the more you give the more you get, spread sunshine and happiness, and you will receive the same. There were two pools that we used. One was definitely more quiet and had more space with less children and it was always easy to get a drink at the bar. The bartenders and servers here were amazing. Kudos to them!! The other pool was busier and had odd ramps that were actually difficult to navigate. Almost as if they were too steep. Neither of the pools had sufficient music. Water temperature was super. Bathrooms were clean in and around the pool and resort. Our Room was cool with a/c and adjustable temperature control. All worked well, including a safe. We did not have hot water in the morning and towels were not always replaced. Rooms were cleaned but we never had glasses in the bathroom like our friends did and even when you tip - no special towel animals were made. Fridge was always restocked nicely with water and beer though! We saw two small roaches in our room but being in the tropics we weren’t alarmed. The buffet had lots of options with a changing menu which was great, like turkey and prime rib, sushi… many times the food was cold. It was hit and miss. I would recommend less salt and definitely get gravy! The property is large so taking a cart to the sports bar is a must. We didn’t have any issues getting there and back. It was nice to watch football with drinks and popcorn do some shopping before heading back to the lobby. The beach is beautiful at this time of year and the vendors were fine accepting no for an answer. The medical services are top-notch. Should an accident happen you can rest assured that the grand Palladium staff will be there to take care of all your needs! They are professional and vigilant- and I would like to thank them all from the doctor, nurses, pharmacy staff to the manager for helping us in our situation. We were very satisfied. Gracias 🙏

Great hôtel , even greater people !

The people there are always at your service with a smile , and a great attitude. The food was plenty and good. I would say that the staff is making all the diffence for me. The pools are quiet and great for relaxation. The beach was beautiful , but that is were all the action was at . Lots a people and little bit overcrowded for me . It was not a issue for me at all thoughs .

    Lovely couples vacation

This is not a 5 star... it's a 4 start. The bedrooms and bathrooms are in need of updating. Minor bathroom fixes would go a long way.

A solid mid-priced option with very good value

Stayed Jan 25 - Feb 01, 2026 Our group of friends stayed here, and this was our 1st time at this resort and 1st time in Punta Cana. We booked through a travel agent/Sunwing in August, and I am glad we did, as the price increased by almost $1000/pp closer to departure. Here is my honest review. CHECK-IN : We arrived around dinner time, and the reception clerk was not particularly friendly or helpful compared to most hotel front desk staff I have encountered. He mixed up our rooms, and 3 of us had issues with our bracelets (which are your room key as well). They went back 2-3 times before ending up with cards to carry, which are less handy than the bracelet alone. We were not offered a welcome beverage (it was a red beverage in a fluted wine glass), and there was nothing available in the lobby that you could help yourself to. He did not offer to point us in the direction of where we could eat dinner after our long day of travel. We were not told about booking the à la carte dinners with the concierge or any events. We walked over to the concierge desk of our own accord, only to find out they close at 6 pm. In general, he did the absolute bare minimum to check us in. There was no smile, no friendly engagement, no 'welcome', enjoy your stay, we are here for you if you need anything, did you have any questions etc. . . ' Nothing. The front desk experience needs improvement. ROOM: We had requested connecting rooms both on our reservation and also emailed the hotel in advance, but our request was not accommodated. We heard from a fellow traveller who was a family of 6 that they too requested the connecting rooms, but had to pay $1000 more to get them, which sounds wrong. Families or people who need to be together must be the priority, and making them pay extra sounds like extortion, knowing they needed it. I stayed in room 3104, and it was in an excellent location within the complex, in my opinion. It was close to our pool/La Uva snack bar, across the road from the hotel lobby, a short walk to Behique buffet, Sumptuori, Bhoghali, the casino, gym and spa. The room itself was clean and tidy with usual wear and tear. ** Be aware that there is a quirk about the bathroom that may be off-putting to non-couples . . . there is a frosted sliding glass door and a glass wall that separates the tub/shower from the bedroom area. We had to resort to showering with the lights off in the bathroom and the lights on in the bedroom area to avoid illuminating the silhouette while showering. The fridge is stocked with water, soda and beer, no snacks. There was no beer on check-in, but a couple of cans appeared a couple of days later, and then a 3rd ( we don't drink beer so we noticed). The room had only 2 facecloths when we checked in, and we never saw another one for the entire week, even though we asked several times. The housekeeping staff did not speak a word of English, so we used Google Translate to assist and would leave notes, but there was no success. The tv and remote in our room was finnicky all week long, even after they replaced the entire unit. The staff were quick to respond when called upon. We tipped them daily, but on the one day we didn't, they didn't give us any bottled water. The restocking of the towels and water was inconsistent at best. It's as if there is no checklist that each room should contain a set number of items, such as 2 facecloths, 2 hand towels, 4 bath towels, 4 waters etc . . . This did not dampen our spirits, but the inconsistency was noticed. One of my pillows smelled like cheese feet. At first, I thought it might just be the pillow cases (they double them up), so I requested 2 fresh pillow cases. The next day, the smell was back again, and it was unmistakable that it was the pillow, so much so that the corner of the bed where it sat even smelled. I put it outside on a chair to air out, but it did not help. Mr. Stinky needed to stay outside! The a/c and fan ran constantly, but it never really got cold. You're in the tropics, so expect warm, moist air everywhere. FOOD: El Behique buffet is superior to Poseidon in my opinion. We heard mixed reviews about the à la carte restaurants, but all of our dinners were excellent, everything was fresh, hot and tasty. As with most all-inclusive resorts, you are getting their version/spin on a classic dish. Keep an open mind. It may not be exactly as you're used to in your own country, but it is very good, even excellent. La Uva snack bar was average. Hemingway Sports Bar is open 24hours and was often busy late at night. ~ We met 2 exceptional servers, Mildred, who works at El Behique during the day and El Dorado at night. Ramon, who works at El Behique during the day and at Portofino at night. These 2 were the difference makers for us. They went out of their way to accommodate us and would pick fresh flowers for our tables every day. We felt special! ~ POOLS/ENTERTAINMENT/SPA: The pools are clean, and a decent number of chairs are out, but during busy times, there can be a lack of them. There is very quiet music playing around the pool at times, nothing blasting. We brought a Bluetooth speaker, and that worked great. Every night, there is entertainment available, such as Bingo ($10 USD to play), 80's music night (singers/dancers), Rock Experience (rock concert), Latin Pop, Neon Party and the white party was on Sunday, the day we left. It's NOT a party resort so if you're looking to be entertained with larger stage performances or a foam party, this isn't the place. The beach is shallow, so real estate is at a premium to find a spot. The sand is lovely and only had a small bit of sargassum. The waves are powerful, and the dive shop/powersports are close by. The spa is lovely, and the hydrotherapy is included with any service. By itself, it's $60 USD, so buying a service makes it an even better value. There are outdoor showers, a pretty pool, a huge hot tub, a cold plunge, an Eucalyptus Hamam room, an ice room and a dry sauna. The health bar is inside the spa, where you can have fresh juices, fruit, yogurts, sushi or sandwiches as available. I did the Palapa massage twice, and it was excellent and so relaxing, hearing the ocean waves lull you to sleep. The therapists use good pressure. It is not just like lotion application, where they barely use any pressure on you. GETTING AROUND/MISC: There are electric trolleys that take people all over the resort, so you don't have to walk if you don't want to. Some are exclusive for Travel Club members, but efficient service and don't typically wait too long. There is a well-stocked gift shop, pharmacy and medical office on-site. You are paying premium prices to buy from them. Behind the TRS resort by the pier, there is a cluster of half a dozen souvenir shops/vendors right on the beach. However, if you take the little alley perpendicular to the beach, you'll find more vendors peddling their wares, often with better prices. It's a cramped space and they operate out of storage lockers. There are no bathrooms. It's about a 10-minute walk along the beach, or take the rolley to TRS and walk out the back to the beach, and it's to your right. If you're looking for a solid, mid-priced resort with good to excellent food, consider this resort.

We wanted to love it but couldn't..

We wanted to love it but we couldn't.. I'll start with the good. The grounds were beautiful, the staff outside the lobby were great and the pools and variety were nice. The bad... you couldn't go into any of the lobbies without constantly being harassed about whether you got your welcome gift or tour and it was a trap to get you into a meeting. It got so bad we avoided the lobbies at all costs. Even while waiting for the shuttle to leave multiple green shirts approached me and one guy even said if I filled out this exact review in front of him he'd get a day off, it was beyond annoying. We had a loft room that never got below 25 degrees, in building 72 the ac is in the loft so downstairs never got cooler, they even came to fix it one night and said the pipes were so clogged so imagine what we've all been breathing in. The a la cartes were not great, the buffets had better options. I'm easy to please so I was disappointed. My husband got a steak house that had no seasoning, we ended up canceling future reservations. The sports bar was probably one of the better options but because we were from the punta cana side we had to take the "train" and had to wait over 25 mins for it to return while empty golf carts past us repeatedly and even told us they couldn't help us? We made the best of a not great situation but I'd never recommend this place or come back. We spent a lot of money for a less than ideal resort.
