  Disappointed

  We stayed at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana and, unfortunately, our experience was disappointing overall. Prior to arrival, we requested that our three rooms be located in the same building and that all rooms have king-size beds. While we understand that requests are subject to availability, we were surprised that this was not considered before our arrival. When we checked in, none of our rooms were ready, and we were initially told we would be placed in separate buildings. After a lengthy wait, we were eventually accommodated in the same building, but we did not receive access to our rooms until well after 4:30 p.m. Several room issues further impacted our stay. In rooms 6317 and 6315, the air conditioning could not be adjusted below 22°C. We reported this multiple times, but no one ever came to address it. Rooms 6315 and 6328 also had an unpleasant and noticeable odor, which was reported and again never checked. In room 6328, turning on the jacuzzi resulted in black sludge and live bugs coming out of the jets. Given our previous experiences with unaddressed issues, we chose not to report this. Another major disappointment was discovering upon arrival that all à la carte restaurants were fully booked. Access to these restaurants was a key reason we chose and paid for this resort, yet we were never given the opportunity to dine at any of them. There were a few positive moments. One staff member in particular, Raldy, was excellent and provided truly great service. Unfortunately, these moments were overshadowed by the overall demeanor of the staff, which we found to be somewhat rude and extremely pushy. We were repeatedly pressured to purchase extras or attend a timeshare presentation, which significantly detracted from our enjoyment of the vacation. Overall, while there were some bright spots, the number of unresolved issues and the lack of follow-through left us very disappointed with our stay

  Smelt bad

  We were a party of 14 and some of the members of the party their rooms smelt awful like raw Sewage and took the hotel Two days To move them to another room and when you’re only on a five day trip, it’s not great

  Possibly the worst 5 star hotel. Definitely would advise others to avoid this resort.

  Not the friendliest of staff members. Staff had difficulty communicating in English. Room had to be changed due to several issues including excessive mould and damp, telephone not working, and the bathroom temperature controls not working. Replacement room had cockroaches. Bathroom towels which were left on the floor was folded back to be used again. Orders at the restaurant was frequently served wrongly including a piece of chicken in a dessert, meat in vegetable soup. Birthday cake promised not delivered. So many more issues including racial remarks by staff members.

  Overall our trip was great. The beach and looks were excellent. Our butler William was super helpful and got us everything we needed

  Great facility, poor customer experience

  Beautiful property and grounds, but the overall experience during a recent five‑night stay was disappointing. Dining was the biggest issue: no à la carte reservations were available in the app the entire trip, forcing daily visits to Guest Services while other guests were seated as walk‑ins, and snacks between meals were limited with some hot food (like eggs) served cold. The app was unreliable and hard to use, event information was often wrong, and there was little proactive communication from staff, so it was easy to feel out of the loop. Service was inconsistent, check‑in was slow despite online check‑in, some staff seemed annoyed rather than welcoming, English was limited, the bathroom layout lacked privacy, housekeeping was loud early, there was no pool music, and pool chairs were scarce. Overall, the infrastructure is great, but restaurant access, communication, and service culture need real improvement before the experience matches what the resort promises.
