Gone downhill.
Gone downhill. The staff used to be great, not the argue in front of customers Food used to be great, now some restaurants give you buffet food (Italian) Shuttles used to be helpful, now they run you over or aren't available Key staff used to speak enough English (client services) now its hard to even book dinners Hemmingway's used to be a great evening spot, now its not open during the day and a dance club at night... as are all three hotel lobbies. so where do you go for a relaxing evening drink before or after dinner? We had a woman at the swim up bar take her top off several times, get other women to it too, and showed other things. This wasn't the adults pool, kids were around. This happened multiple days. Staff did nothing, one even encouraged here, which just made her get more and more wild... oh yeah her favourite pool is right outside of two restaurants so if you have an early dinner you might get her show too. It's worn out, and they aren't repairing it. It seems like they are renovating slowly, but as that takes time the worn out is showing more and more. Want to sit by the pool? there are so few lounges and chairs now. Which makes people be unpleasant about whether they saved one or not. They don't seem to care anymore.

Lovely Christmas holiday
The hotel is very big and has so much of entertainment. We have enjoyed our stay at this hotel. But I must say the rooms are outdated it doesn’t give you the vibe of a five star hotel. Generally staff are good very little English but nice and friendly. I must mention Soranyi one of the best staff in their restaurants, she is kind and very helpful she deserves a promotion.

Would never go back
This is our second time to Punta Cana. We decided to stay here because it was newly remodeled. Our bad for not taking into consideration that this resort the majority of the rooms are not on the water. We booked a group of 16 and we were all spread out. Upon arrival we were Told we were upgraded to a spa room. It had an outside shower but the water never got hot so we didn’t use it. Our room smelled like musty cigarettes so we got a dehumidifier that we had to empty every 4 hours or our room smelled again. Day 3 there was a significant leak from our light fixture that they came to “ fix” the next day which just consisted of them changing the light bulb. The leak was bad enough it was buckling the trim around the mirror in our room. Our last 3 days there our hot water did not work. Everyone in our stay except one family lost power at some point. We paid for family selection yet didn’t have a butler our first day, and when we’d ask for help for things the majority of the time it was call the front desk, which was always a task because of how little English was spoken. The SOLICITING is out of control at this resort. You could not be at the pool or the beach without being sold something. The spa, excursions, souvenirs, cigars: asking to leave reviews for people we never interacted with or asked to leave reviews at restaurants the start of your dinner… the walkways are not paved they are all cobblestone. Pushing strollers/ scooters, wheelchairs anything is near impossible. Pizza shop was nice but it always took 1 hour to get your pizza. Coffee shop was decent but claimed to have all these smoothies and juices yet every time we went they only had one juice and one smoothie option Unless you speak Spanish you were greeted not so pleasant. Even when using a translator. And we left gratuities every time/everywhere. The trolly service was a joke also… always a wait and many of them unless you’re a member too were told you can’t ride on certain ones…

Poor
The room, smelly, cheap equipment, slippery bathroom (tub is all stone and high with a stool to get in!), dirty (found a huge cockroach, my brother found 3, one each day). The food, mediocre at best. Tasteless, little variety, undercooked or burned (my family member got food poisoning) The staff, the worst of it all. Female servers have an attitude when you ask for anything (like water or a napkin, that should be on the table to begin with). They take forever and roll their eyes at you. One even said, at BamBoo "my god" in my face and rolled her eyes when I asked for an extra plate to share a dish. Another bartender said "I hate my job" while she was making me a drink. Making a reservation for group dinners is impossible at any restaurant (unless you complain and someone magically shows up and gets you one). The beach, very narrow, many broken chairs and no towel or drink service. The worst hotel experience I've had in my life and I've been traveling for over 40 years.
