We traveled with a group of 14. Started good, we had a nice ocean view room. Not exited about the glass toilet and shower doors with limited privacy. if you are traveling with a family I hope you are all friendly with all facets of human life. While the buildings are starting to show a little age we did not find that to be a problem, pool facilities were nice. One of the easiest ways to improve the environment would be to get the employees to smile a little more. While there were exceptions most didn't look happy to be there. Communicating in English was a problem. While you would expect some limitations there when we approached the concierge with some issues she couldn't speak English and handed us a form to fill out. The Chinese restaurant was great, the Italian restaurant was good but didn't refill their lettuce on the appetizer table. The steak restaurant was a joke unless you like 1/4 inch ribeyes and no steak knife. The Indian restaurant ehhh their creme brulee was nothing more than vanilla pudding. The breakfast and lunch buffets were pretty good but over 1/2 of our crew of 14 developed stomach issues (yes) during the stay. Remember the glass bathroom doors. Overall someplace I will not return to.

    Sub par experience

Stayed for 5 nights and didn’t have much of a wow experience. The room was in rough shape. AC did not cool the room particularly well, one sink wouldn’t drain, no water pressure, couldn’t fill up the jacuzzi tub unless you had 3 hours to wait (that’s how bad the water pressure was). Bed was a bit hard. Didn’t think that any of the food was very good. Something upset everyone in our groups stomach, pretty much the whole time. Found the buffets to be a bit of a mess, the specialty restaurants were ok, but hard to get reservations. We had a hard time eating with our group because of this. The food was in general, sub par. Didn’t feel like the service was very good, no one was friendly except for a few bartenders.

Why Do People Like This Place

From poor service to even worse food, I do not understand how this place has thousands of good reviews. Resort rooms are tired and dated. The bathtub shower set up, allows for gallons of water to dump on the floor every time you use it. Taking three or four towels to try and block the gushing water. You’ll find the same comment and other reviews. One of the sinks never worked the entire week we were here. The nonstop barrage of people trying to sell you things in and around the lobby is over the top. The app does not work to schedule restaurant reservations so you have to visit the concierge and everything is so booked that you cannot pick the restaurants you want to go to you have to just take what you get to try and get a reservation. I’ve never encountered so many people who work in hospitality who hate being in hospitality. I would estimate 90% of the people we interacted with regardless of position, and where on resort were surly and hated their jobs. Unless you pay for upgrade, the main pools are incredibly crowded with everyone saving chairs so if you come later in the day, you will not find any available pool chairs. Once you’re at the pool, do not expect regular service for beverage. Even with tipping, you could sit there hours and no one would come to take a drink order. We found the food in most places to be in incredibly disappointing, bland and dry. The steak place was one of the worst meals we’ve ever had anywhere. The Japanese restaurant was decent. The sandwiches at the coffee shop were probably the highlight of the trip sadly. The buffets just have an overall grossness to them. Overcrowded with too many people and too many children with everything tasting the same. I could go on about all the issues for the week we were here but so tired of this resort.
