    What a disappointment.

We loved the staff and the grounds but the room and some amenities were a huge letdown. Our room was old and dismal. The bedroom didn’t have a dresser for clothes; it was the same cabinet that stored the refrigerator in the living room. The lighting was poor, the shower leaked, the faucet in the sink was broken. The couch was actually a futon so it was incredibly uncomfortable. Our room was the furthest from the lobby, which made it a long walk. The shuttle service is non-existent as is room service. The food is average. Breakfast is a buffet. Lots of choices but the same thing day after day. We had no trouble getting seated for dinner. NOTE to company trying to sell us loyalty club: don’t put us in a crummy room and then expect us to buy into it.

    2 Weeks of Bliss!

We stayed here for 2 weeks from January 24-February 7. We had our rooms upgraded to the Lady Hamilton side which allowed us to have the most beautiful sunsets right from our balcony. Week 1 we were with 6 other couples and the 2nd week we had another couple arrive. Although everyone was on the complete opposite end of the resort you could still get around and everyday you could spend a different spot on the resort. There is a ton of walking but it's nice to work off all the food and booze, they have a shuttle to get you around as well. The service in some of the restaurants was frustrating but now that time has passed it's not that bad looking bad......especially now that we are fortunate to have got away before this whole COVID-19 Pandemic. All in all I would recommend this resort to anyone, the rooms are a little more modern on the Lady Hamilton side but the Jamaica side has nicer rooms as far as I was concerned. The biggest complaint I would have with this resort is the booze, being a Canadian we enjoy our Rye Whisky, if you paid out the ying yang you could get Crown Royal but I've already paid out the ying yang to come so I'm not paying more for booze that is already included. They have Canadian LTD which should be taken off the shelf and have the name changed, that firewater is brewed in Kentucky or something crazy and in no way should have the name Canadian in it. Vodka was good ( Absolute, Smirnoff & Stolichnaya), beer is Red Stripe, if you slip a few bucks you can get a bottle at the Infiniti Bar otherwise it's draft. They have Bud Light in the rooms but it's garbage, been shipped too far around the world. For the rum drinkers...you can't go wrong with Appleton! I drank Jack Daniels most of the time, that's why we only made midnight a few times..haha. We did the Catarmaran tour from the resort c/o Sadie, it was great because it was mostly us on the boat. The boat was ALOT dated, they ran out of beer and didn't have food until we got to Margaritaville's but it was still fun. The resort could do away with the people trying to sell you spa packages all the time, that part drove me nuts. Also, the photographers should do it totally different and ask people for their room numbers or names so they can post the photos so you can see them. We had so many pictures taken of us but then they wouldn't leave us their name or card or anything. Sorry, I'm getting long winded here. I wish I could go to Jamaica now instead of being hunkered down in self-isolation in my base

    Well done to staff

Just returned from trip during COVID-19 stay. Group of seven and down to last 35 guests by the end of the trip. We would want to thank staff who remained professional to the end during an incredibly difficult time when worried for health and jobs. Respect to you all. Lovely resort and would love to return at some point in the future. Thank you.

    Corona virus escape!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Some restaurants were better than others but on the whole the food was very good. The desserts at the dinner restaurants were not very good though. A key lime pie I tried was like rubber.

    Superb hotel and amenities

We went to the Grand Palladuim in Lucea, Jamaica. When we got there a lovely atmosphere and seeing the Grand Palladuim I would say very grand. We were taken to our room on the Jamaica side and was surprised to see the size of the room, very large and plush. We had all the amenities in the room. Coffee and tea with milk supplied. Fridge filled with beer and can drinks. We were provided with a cake as it was my wifes Birthday. Iron and Ironing board. The room had a whirlpool bath and we had two double beds in the room. We had a coffee table and a sofa with some chairs. The room came with a balcony and funiture. The cleanliness of the room and shower area was very good. The grand Palladium has 10 resturants out the 10, 3 are buffets and I would recommend them all. I would say I was not disappointed in any of them. Best one was the Negril. There are 7 al e carte resturants. 1. Xaymaica this was a Jamaican resturant and the food was amazing. They catered for vegans too. 2. Sumptuori the food was amazing and is a Japanese resturant. 3. The Poseidon was a fish resturant and was really good. 4. The Italian resturant was one of the worse on this site, the waiters were rude. 5. The Indian resturant was not to our taste and the food was not to standard and cold on arrival. 6. One of the resturants was closed. 7. There was a steak resturant which we did not go to as we dont eat beef. But some of our friends had mixed reviews. The Grand Palladuim has 3 large pools and some smaller pools, they cater for Adults as well as children's pool. As a all inclusive you have local as well as premium drinks. If your a gin drinker you have Gordons Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire, many branded whiskeys but we did prefer to drink the local rum which was the best. The people are great from waiters to waitress, barman and women and cleaners and gardeners. We had such a good time, the weather some days was wet in the afternoon, morning a scorcher. The excursions are very expensive but worth doing. We went to Kingston, Bob Marleys mausoleum, and a memorial. A lovely all day trip with great guides. Second trip was the Rummery Appletons estates, Ys falls and Pelican bar in the ocean, again well worth a trip. You will leave at 06.30 and come back around 20.00, the guides and minibus are good with aircon. To us the trip was fab and we will go back to this hotel, we enjoyed the great foam parties, beach parties and the great food and the hosts. The grand Palladium does not sleep and had an animation team which is very good and hosts lots of activities through out the day for young and for old. The evening there is always a really good show at 20.00. At 21.00 there is a live band which has different artists and entertainers every day. After 22.00 there is a DJ who will play all night. There are some resturants that are open nearly 24hrs. Overall very good and if you want to go to this hotel please do you will have an amazing time. A very large complex and lots to do.
