What We Love
- It's all-inclusive and all-aahmazing - a beachtastic wonderland.
- All the restaurants are reservation-free. You can show up on your own schedule.
- The Zentropia spa with Swedish massage & the cold bath "eco-meditative" treatment. Brace yourself.
- Relaxing in the hammock area and booze snoozing it for an afternoon.
- The food options - if you're gluten-free or have allergies they've got a special menu.
- Hanging out at the turtle nesting area - you'll love these sweet little babies.
Things to Know
- It's 50 miles south of Cancun airport. It's a drive, but when you arrive, you won't want to leave.
- The grounds are massive, so you'll be hoofing it a lot, but there are shuttles to cart you around.
- You get four resorts for the price of one - three other Grand Palladiums are a coconut's throw away.
- Bring water shoes. Most of the beach is great, but it's rocky where you might want to snorkel.
- Six tennis courts along with wave after wave of water sports like kayaking, water polo & more.

Great resort, some precautions if you have kids
I was there with my family and we booked two connecting rooms which were very convenient as the resort is large and rooms may be far apart. The Kantenah is part of a complex with the adjacent Palladium Colonian and Palladium White Dunes. All the three properties share most of the restaurants and amenities and are a 10-15 minutes walk from each other, also connected by a train car. It's not a small boutique resort, but there are beautiful lavish gardens and even in the high season it does not feel crowded. We never waited more than 10-15 minutes for a table at the buffet and reservations at the "a la carte" restaurants were always available if flexible with the time slot. for For breakfast, we had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a high chair for our kids at the buffet, this is something should be improved. The pools and the beach are large enough for every guest and beach chairs available most of the time. My son picked up impetigo from the kids club or from the high chairs at the restaurant. The hostess at the buffet was offering hand sanitizer, but we did not notice any frequent deep cleaning of the kids stuff throughout the day and after every use. I hope there will be different policies now with Covid-19. Beside this problem, we enjoyed staying at this property and it's highly recommended for a family vacation.
Wonderful poolside service
My family recently stayed at the Grand Palladium Kanteneh resort. We really wanted to recognize Gesica for her excellent service at the main pool. She was polite, courteous, and efficient. We found ourselves looking for her every day. Thank you Gesica !!!!
We have stayed at this fantastic hotel 4 times, but on this occasion it was not a positive one.the hotel decided to close on the day we were due to depart, so for a week before this they started closing some of the bars, restaurants, entertainment, pools without any prior notice or information. so we don’t feel we had the holiday experience we had paid for on this occasion
We can't wait to go back!
Me and my partner stayed here for 11 nights a couple of weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. The staff are so friendly and happy 24/7 (despite some rather rude and demanding guests). The choice of food available is unbelievable, so tasty and excellent quality. We ate at 8 of the 9 restaurants and 1 night at the buffet. 7 out of the 8 restaurants were lovely and we really enjoyed them. The food on offer at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner is great. Everything from pizza to salads and freshly carved meat. The main bar in Colonial gets a bit busy during the evenings but we never waited more than 5 minutes for a drink. There's so many cocktails on the menu and the bar staff are happy to make you anything you request. The room itself was spacious and clean and the rest of the resort was constantly being cleaned. The beach is lovely but a it's a bit rocky walking into the sea. On a clear day you can see the fish swimming around you. We watched a couple of the shows which were good and we went to the White Party on the beach on the Monday which was fun. I don't really get why people are complaining about the walking, we enjoyed walking to the different restaurants and pools and walking off a big lunch! We did a couple of day trips to Tulum and the Cenotes (not with the resort) and I would recommend doing that if you can. It's easy enough to stay in the resort as everything you need is there but it was nice to see some real Mexico. We jumped on the 'bus' which was cheap but be prepared to not wear a seatbelt! The only complaint I would have is about some of the other guests. We couldn't believe how rude and demanding and obnoxious some people were. The staff were always on hand to help and the entitlement of certain (American) groups of guests was awful. Despite that, me and my partner will definitely be returning :)
Grand Palladium Kantenah
I booked this trip for Spring Break 2020, based on the ratings and reviews. Let me add my 2 cents. First of all, the resort is very large. Plan on doing LOTS of walking. I knew this going in, but what I did not appreciate were all of the cats on the property! My daughter is severely allergic, and if I had read one review mentioning all the cats, we would never have stayed here. Thank goodness we had brought her epipens! Some other things to note: 1. The property needs more signage and clarification to get where you want to go. It all can get pretty confusing. 2. Our 2 rooms were on the 3rd floor. There are NO elevators on the Kantenah property, so be aware of that if you don't want to walk up and down stairs. 3. The electricity would randomly turn off in our rooms. We guessed there must be a timer or motion sensor?? Never could figure that one out. 4. The resort has a wonderful photo lab on site. Unfortunately, we had no knowledge of it until our last night there. It would have been great to get some family portraits on the beach! No one really explains all the available amenities to you. You have to investigate and figure them out for yourselves. 6. The staff are very kind when you need to request something. 7. The "trains" that run "every 10 minutes"??? Not so much! We were lucky to see one every 15 minutes and unless you threw your body in front of it, the driver would drive right by you without a glance. Maybe the resort could put up some dedicated train stops where people have a good chance of actually getting picked up. 8. The mini-golf course is terrible! Basically the same hole repeated 18 times. It was challenging for my 3 teens who regularly golf, can't imagine a younger child not getting incredibly frustrated. Needs to be redesigned and redone to modernize it and make it more family friendly. 9. The food was interesting. Our family is not used to seeing a lot of foreign food, so a majority of the dishes offered on the buffet were not appealing to us personally, but the food always looked well prepared and there was plenty of it! 10. The teen activity center, the Black and White Club, was empty every time my kids ventured there. "Pretty lame" was their opinion. This feature was a big selling point for this resort when I booked, so pretty disappointing!
