  Poor Hotel

  ⭐ 0/5 This was the most stressful vacation my partner and I have ever had. When we arrived, we were given a room with no Wi-Fi and no working air conditioning. The resort was also very difficult to navigate because there was very little signage. Even the employee helping with our luggage got lost trying to find our room. Within minutes of arriving, a member of our group fell because of uneven pathways and poorly designed steps. She injured her knee and ankle and later needed antibiotics. This was a serious safety concern. The next morning, we discovered there was no water in our room. We could not shower, use the bathroom properly, or brush our teeth. Other guests in our building had the same problem. After reporting these issues, we were moved to another room. The process was frustrating, and we had to pack and move our belongings. The second day, we returned to our new room and found water leaking from the ceiling and the air conditioning unit. While my partner was showering and I was brushing my teeth, water was dripping from the ceiling onto us. We were told the issue would be fixed, but once again we had to pack up our belongings to protect them from water damage. The most disappointing part was how some staff handled our concerns. A manager raised his voice at us and even called us “the problem” when we were simply reporting issues with the room. We were also blamed for maintenance problems that were clearly not our fault. We also received confusing and incorrect information about excursions, which caused unnecessary stress during our trip. Another frustrating issue was the service. We noticed a clear difference in how we were treated once we started tipping. It felt like guests were expected to spend a significant amount on tips just to receive basic service and respect (expect to tip 200$ for 7 days if you want to feel human) We did not expect luxury. We expected working air conditioning, running water, a safe environment, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below those expectations. We cannot recommend this resort.

  Surpassed our expectations—don't let the mixed reviews scare you!

  We received a complimentary stay from the Oasis group and were initially nervous about whether it would be honored smoothly, but everything worked perfectly. Having read many conflicting reviews online, we were happy to find that the positive experiences were the ones that rang true for us. Highlights of our stay: Professional Service: The staff was very helpful and professional. We noticed a significant (and positive) difference in service quality compared to our experiences in Cuba. Great Dining: The food quality was good, and the selection was impressively large. Unique Rooms: Our room felt new and modern. A standout feature was having the pools right at our doorstep; we usually aren't "pool people," but these were so inviting we used them every day. The Location & Nature: Everything was close to perfect. While the weather was stormy for the first few days—bringing in quite a bit of sargassum that made swimming difficult—the conditions cleared up for the last three days of our trip and it was beautiful. Overall, a great experience and we were very impressed with the consistency of the resort.

  Excellent!! Wonderful!

  We absolutely loved this resort! Staff are friendly and very welcoming. Hotel is lovely, rooms are clean , food is excellent!!!!! Antonio who works the wet bar ( swim up bar ) is incredible! He takes great care of you while you are there . Pools are clean and warm . The beach had alot of seaweed which is just nature . But still beautiful. We most definitely would go back . We met alot of wonderful people who shared the same feelings. Thank you Staff @ Grand Oasis Riveria Tulum.

  STAY AWAY

  sunwing left us at airport for almost 2 hours waiting for transfer. we were dumped at the gate with no idea how to get to hotel lobby. cart eventually came and took 2 people at a time to lobby. the entire vanful had to wait their turn. one staff at hotel lobby desk to check us all in. landed at 830pm got into room at 230am. lost the entire night we paid for. desk clerk rolled her eyes when i asked her to slow down what she was telling me. bracelets come off at 1230pm last day -- no amenities no food no water. unless you pay for the day an extra 600-800 pesos. also the beds by the pool were extra pesos, the housekeeping was extra pesos and the fridge restock of 6 beverage (2 water, 2 cola 2 beer) was also extra pesos. food was mediocre and repetitive. staff slammed chairs down if we moved them to accomodate our group. entertainment was whatever we dictated by staff. a swimming pool game with plastic cups was shut down by bar tenders demanding they stop, bartender at swim up bar left often for 20 - 45 min at a time with noone tending bar and a line up. kareoke was popular and filled the theatre so they shut it down at 10 pm to bring a dj in ( everyone but 2 people left). a young man sat down at the grand piano in lobby to play and played beautifully. bartender came over and told the crowd to leave, and covered and closed the piano. so if you want a joyless, amenities less, mediocre , no support from sunwing and if you dont need food or water and want to pay for 7 days of amenities but get 5 this is the place for you. please stay anywhere else.

  There is robbery of room safes at this resort.

  If this is the Grand Oasis Riviera Tulum , do not leave your $ in the safe it is not safe at this resort! 100% positive my mom and i got robbed when we went for supper and back for 1.5 hrs , had folded up $200 in two 100 bills in my wallet along with lots of other $ , put it in the safe specially for a massage the next day, come back from supper and vanished. Whatever staff does this preys on the fact that most people wont notice just a little bit of $ missing from the safe , not all so they can keep their lucrative scam going. We talked to other people around the resort and same thing , also robbed from the safe. Would have been a great vacation but now scarred for life from traveling and ever leaving $ in the safe again. Although have traveled lots and this has never happened before. If you need to leave your $ in the safe you need to get a small lockbox in this safe. Overall nice place and staff but they have a rogue thief infiltrated their staff here.
