    Excellent food and service! Roberto and Candy and Charlene and the whole entertainment team did a great job keep the fun going around the pool! Nicole in the reception/lobby area went above and beyond in making us feel at home! We would return to this resort 100%

    Beautiful Resort, Amazing Views and Kids Club, but Disappointing Food

    We stayed here for five nights in January and booked through Costco Travel for about $2,700 total for an all-inclusive package. Overall, this is a very large, grand resort with a lot to like, but also some clear downsides that are worth knowing before booking. The property itself is big, beautiful, and built into a hillside with multiple levels that eventually flatten out near the main pool areas. Because most of the rooms sit higher up, the ocean views are excellent. We could see whales breaching right in front of the hotel, which was truly incredible and one of the highlights of the trip. The weather in January was perfect. The gym deserves special mention. It is modern, clean, and fully equipped with high-end machines and free weights. Easily one of the best resort gyms we’ve seen. There are also multiple pools to choose from, and they are heated, which was great. The hot tubs were even warmer than the pools and very relaxing. The beach area is nice, and you can snorkel right out front. There are around eight restaurants on the property, which sounds great in theory, but unfortunately the food was the biggest disappointment of the stay. Almost every restaurant was hit or miss, and mostly miss. Many dishes tasted off, and the overall quality was much lower than expected for a resort at this level. The sushi restaurant was very poor, and the Mexican restaurant was also not good. Breakfast was the one consistently solid meal. Drinks were also an issue. Many times we would order a drink and wait 20 minutes, or it would be forgotten altogether, which became frustrating quickly. Service was generally friendly and the staff were kind and hardworking, but the logistics of the property can wear you down. Because the resort is so steep, you need to take a golf cart almost every time you want to go between your room and the lobby or main areas. Sometimes the wait is five minutes, sometimes ten, and it adds up fast. You really have to plan ahead. Our room itself was comfortable and had a great view, but it was very noisy starting around 9 AM. You could clearly hear housekeeping above dragging furniture across hard tile floors, and the noise carried throughout the day, which got tiring. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing, and the kids club was absolutely outstanding. This was a major highlight of our trip. Our son loved it and asked every day to go back. Ariel and Perla went out of their way to take great care of him. They planned fun crafts and activities and even gave us an hour of free time each day so we could work out or get ready. We truly can’t say enough good things about the kids club experience. WiFi was excellent throughout the entire property, including by the pools, which made things easy. The location is also convenient, with an easy 15-minute Uber ride to the marina and downtown Cabo. In summary, this is a beautiful resort with amazing views, great pools, a top-notch gym, excellent WiFi, and an incredible kids club. However, the food quality was a major letdown, especially compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at around the world. With better-trained chefs and improved dining, this place could be truly great. As it stands, we left wishing the food matched the rest of the experience.
