The best dinner experience and services
The food was excellent, best services we had at this hotel from Nicasio, Maria, and Edy. It was a perfect dinner experience with different wine pairing. We had 7 course meals paired with 6 wines. Everything was delicious. The dessert was my favorite.

Le Basilic, worth it
We had a wonderful dinner at Le Basilic. Nicosia, Maria and Pablo took wonderful care of us. This was our second time here. Couldn’t recommend the menu more. And please do the wine pairing! It is worth it! The experience elevates the entire resort experience.

Amazing dinner
Amazing flavors and wonderful hospitality! Thanks to Miguel, Pablo and sweet María. A little surprise gift at the end was very thoughtful as well. We used a sitter service to come dine here. It has been a while since we had a real date and we are so glad we did this!!

3rd time back to this place and no regrets!
I've been coming here for a several years now and every time I come, I never leave the resort except for a quick trip to Isla Mujeres. I've got a 3rd year old and a 6 yr old so "staying in" has always been easiest thing to do. So I'm writing this after staying here for 5 days and then switched over to the Hyatt Ziva which is next door, for a couple of nights. Even though this is my third time here, I've come to appreciate this place more this time around. Like many things in life, nothing gives you more perspective than when you have something else to compare it to. (I will write a separate review about my unpleasant experience at the Hyatt Ziva.) This place gives me basically everything I wanted or needed. Could some things be better? Of course. Could it be worse? Hell yes. Here's a detailed review of with the highs and not-so-lows. Highs Despite not being a big breakfast guy, their breakfast buffet has enough variety to keep me satisfied. Last time, I was here for 10 days and it didn't drive me away or crazy so here's some context behind that. Isla Contoy was always a great lunch choice and even a better dinner. This trip, I got to experience their new restaurants downstairs such as Chianti and Havanna. At Chianti, the violinist was a nice addition during dinner. He took requests for songs. The food took longer than I had hoped due to a large party but the quality and service was above average. My favorite meal of the entire trip was Havanna where Jorge and Ricardo gave us the best service. Period. Right from the get go, he gave us a starter that I didn't request for but he thought I'd enjoy it based on the brief conversation we had about steak. The appetizer was a thinly sliced medium rare steak which was amazing. I ordered something called a espinalis based on his recommendation with a side of haberno sauce. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it! He also got me a special drink that I eventually learned was called Carajillo. It was made table side and was quite delicious if you like coffee and alcohol mixed into one. One new addition since I was there was karoake and NFL football. Both were not available the last 2 times I came so this was a pleasant surprise. My 6 year old got to sing karaoke for the first time and the crowd was full of families and kids so she received a lot of support from everyone after singing each song. I can't express my appreciation enough for that! I also got to watch some NFL on a projector so I got my fix. The ice cream and dessert shop was always a treat to my kids. They loved every trip there. What stood out the most for me was the quality of service I received thorough out my entire stay. Just about everyone that worked there were nice and pleasant to us. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, waitresses/waiters, or bartenders, we always got a positive vibe and good experience. I can't say enough about this. Not-so-lows The arcade room had games where the buttons didn't work. That was annoying when trying to play anything with my kids. When we were at the pool on one of the days, they were apparently understaffed so it took a very long time for us to get our food. The Mexican restaurant called LaToya did not fit our taste. Can't really say much more except that we didn't like the food. Speaking of food, I understand why you'd have to make reservations but it is a bit annoying that we have to do that. We can't just show up for dinner somewhere whenever we want. The pool water was cooler than we'd like. Our kids were freezing and so was I. To sum things up, would I stay here again? Yes! I was really debating that decision when I first arrived because it was the 3rd time. I wanted to see what else is out there and if there's something better. I stayed at Paradises before and that was definitely not better. As mentioned earlier, I'll write about my experience at the Hyatt Ziva a little later. Thank you Fiesta Americana!
