    Second Time and Still Wonderful

    We are returning guest and stayed here back in early February. It had been about 5 years from the last time we came. The resort definitely upgraded itself in terms of rooms and food. Service was wonderful as well. They have added a third floor to all the buildings and remodeled all the rooms inside and out. They were still in the midst of completing the renovations and construction was still happening but typically in areas where nobody was staying. The resort is huge, so most of the noise was not heard. There were only little things that I noticed that still needed to be completed but i would hope by now that would have most of those wrapped up. The pool was the same and still clean and gorgeous. One really nice feature was the Platinum area. Now they have a separate pool just for Platinum guest that includes a restaurant, bar and rooftop bar that we frequented every day. The new Platinum Lounge was nice but I liked the previous one better, there were places in the old lounge were you could sit and play games with your friends, watch tv and hang out. However, we did find other places to do this like the sports bar which is new along with a few other food venues. Overall, the food was excellent, more choices and much better than the first time we came. The beach, pools, restrooms, and public areas were always clean and everything is new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved getting to know the regular bartenders and wait staff and they loved us too because we tipped them nice because in America we are used to tipping for excellent service...just seems like the right thing to do. Many of these workers are away from their families for days/weeks on end and seem to work multiple shifts per day. People you see at breakfast are the same you see at dinner or even later, and after a long day they were still very friendly and didn't complain. Just a couple things that I noticed that I wish was different was the shower floor is not pitched correctly and the water doesn't drain unless you push it along with your foot, and we had to use a beach towel to stop the water from running into the bathroom. And the last thing which was they really need handrails on the stairs going up to the rooms. Maybe they hadn't gotten to that when we arrived but its sure hard climbing 3 flights of stairs, if your on the top floor without a rail. Otherwise, my sincere thanks to all the staff at Grand Bavaro Princess you all made our vacation one to remember forever!

    Great Staff - Nice Resort

    I stayed there for a week for a destination wedding. It was my 3rd all-inclusive vacation with the other 2 being in Cuba. It was a great experience. Staff were excellent and provided friendly, attentive service. Elizabeth in the lobby and pool/beach was a highlight as was Rosendo in the 24/7 pub. I'm missing one of our servers from the buffet because I didn't realize until too late when it was her last day. I would love to be able to find out her name if someone could contact me and if it can be figured out from the area she was working and dates she was working. The facility itself was recently renovated and was quite nice. There were still renovations happening but it wasn't noticeable (at least from the areas I spent time in). The nice part for me was that it meant it wasn't at full capacity so it was easy to find spots at the pool or on the beach any time of day (I don't know how much of a difference that made to the experience or what it would be like at full capacity). I wasn't in the Platinum section so I can't comment on it. The wildlife on the resort is a nice touch if you like that sort of thing. Rooms were nice. I would have liked a slightly colder mini fridge and better AC (borderline during the day, lots cold at night) but that's minor. I don't think entertainment/activities were in full swing. Some of the listed items weren't available at the time. There weren't nets on the tennis courts or windsurfers on the beach. There may have been other things too that weren't on my radar. One area that had a bit of an issue was check-in. I was in a group and we had asked about getting rooms close together. Some people who wanted 2 beds were in rooms with 1 bed and then my wife and I discovered that we were in a room with 2 beds when we wanted 1. If we wanted to change rooms we would be even further from the rest of the group. We asked about getting the rooms that had been initially (erroneously) given to the other people in our room but were told they weren't available. Overall a great stay.

    Bavaro Princess...An amazing place!!!

    This is the 5th time we have been there and we love it!!! The place is amazing. We love the food, the cleanliness of the rooms, the entertainment (Jordan, Chocolate, DJ Santos), the bar tenders (Rafael, Jose Luis, Don Juan, Robert (Sammy) ) are amazing and they will treat you like family. We are always looking forward to visiting Bavaro Princess. I highly recommend it to anyone whether they have kids or not. !!! BTW, enjoy my country!!!

    Amazing Resort with Amazing Staff!

    My family & I just returned from our 1-week stay at the resort and were pleasantly surprised by the experience we had. This was our first time at the resort and we decided to stay platinum. If you can, spending the extra money on platinum is worth for all that is included. In my opinion, it is worth it for the exclusive pool and beach alone, but the platinum restaurants were amazing as well. The lobster at Soho was our favourite. The hotel had many different dining options, so we were able to try something new every night. Our favourite restaurants were the Italian and the Japanese. Chef Jesus at the teppanyaki was fantastic and made the whole experience very interactive. What really put this resort above others for me was the staff. Every single person I talked to was super friendly, and always willing to help out if need be. While all the staff were fantastic, there were a few people I felt went above and beyond. Marcos at the platinum pool was extremely helpful and always helped me to open the umbrella, as I was too short to reach. He also was super friendly and checked in to make sure everything was ok with our room/experience at the resort. Danielo at the beach buffet was also super friendly and always had a smile on his face. Lastly, Juan at platinum check-in was super friendly and made checking in a breeze. Overall, this resort is was the perfect place for our family vacation and we will be returning in the near future!

    An awesome vacation.

    We had a great time. Rooms are beautiful. We were 5 bungalows from the beach and main pool. Its a big resort but they do offer a trolley service which runs frequently from 7 am to 1 am. Only tried 3 a la cartes Steakhouse, Japaneese. Food was very good in the Buffet and lots of selection. Want to mention an outstanding waiter Hooliou Alberto (Ya Baby) who moves between the buffets. He makes your eating experience a good one. Grounds are kept impeccable. Brought bug spray but never encountered any mosquitos. Only negative point was that of the Covid 19 guests were leaving early to return home and didn't get to fully enjoy this resort to its potential. Would definitely return.
