Apr 27, 2025Excellent service and outstanding personnel
We have been coming to this resort every year since 2014. The site is beautiful and the beach buffet staff (Beras, Gregorio, Dany, Juan, Wilfrid, Raoul, Miguel) are super friendly. Every night we stop at the Bar Truck on the beach for refreshments. The service is impeccable and the staff (Ramon Estefani and Marconi) are always eager to serve us.

The grounds of the resort are breathtaking. It is a very large resort and it is great for walks. We loved the mangrove park with turtles and birds. Grounds are well kept and marvelous The service by North American standards is mostly mediocre. Staff are not in any rush and ignore you at their station for few minutes before acknowledging that you are there. It is not about tips, it seems to be a culture there. Tips did not change the speed of service. At the platinum area beach, lively men bringing drinks were amazing, they were upbeat, friendly and took great care of guests. Claudio was the best. Soho restaurant had a more professional service. Charcoal grill at Chopin and Soho restaurants we enjoyed the most. I appreciated the large salad bar and healthy eating options at this resort. Free internet was super spotty and laggy. Premium wifi is available for extra cost. Room service: food that we ordered was awful and took forever to get. Travel tip: if you leave the room, room service food will not be left in the unit, but it will be marked as delivered. Welcome fruit platter never arrived. Called reception and I was told it is coming, 2 hours later left the room. It either never arrived or arrived when we were not there, unlike other hotels, the staff here does not go into units unless it's cleaning staff. I would recommend platinum to people considering to stay at this resort due to access to more pools, restaurants and proximity to beach area. Room: Did not meet expectations. Jacuzzi did not have hot water by the time it filled up; rain shower had little to no pressure. It's kinda funny that we picked platinum for Jacuzzi and it was useless. There is 20 min free Jacuzzi at spa, but kids are not allowed, so we didn't get to try it out. Second day at resort, room was not cleaned at all. We had enough towels and toiletries so it was not an issue, but this is first time in years of travel that I ever encountered this. Definitely not a platinum level of service. Access to the room was via bracelets which was super convinient. Kids were very annoyed that their bracelet did not offer access to the unit. This is the first resort that we ever experienced this. It caused many inconveniences as our kids are over 10 and are used to be more independent and head to room earlier to avoid shower line ups. The ocean was very wavy. It seemed impossible to swim without goggles and without being slammed by the waves. I mistakenly expected a calmer ocean. Tip: bring goggles and kids need to be always supervised. The resort is great in some aspects. Despite the shortcomings, we would stay there again. Coming from a managerial background, I would make a lot of changes. The resort needs to level up on customer service and gourmet dining to stay competitive. Platinum guest.

We thoroughly enjoyed this resort. We upgraded to platinum which I definitely recommend to be able to enjoy the whole resort - a la carts were delicious. Booked three in advance - no issues Beach and beach service was perfect. Staff extremely kind and more than willing to assist you Totally recommend !

Great hostesses/host

Great service at Tanuki restaurant
Great service from Leopoldo, Yaniriz and Anthony at Tanuki restaurant tonight, the food was amazing and their service and diction unmatched. Make sure you’re seated with them when you book this restaurant, you for sure won’t be disappointed
