Unsafe hotel ! Don’t stay there
I had a terrible and distressing experience at Grand Bávaro Princess. My drink was spiked at the pool bar by two women who were not hotel guests and after they followed me to my room, I discovered the next day that cash, valuables, and my card details had been stolen. When I went to complain, the staff were rude, dismissive, and admitted they already knew who the women were, yet they still did nothing to help me. My report wasn’t even documented properly. This hotel allowed a serious incident to happen and then refused to take responsibility or support me afterwards. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Amazing trip-Platinum worth the upgrade
We just got back from a wonderful week in a Platinum Honeymoon Suite. To be honest, after reading some of these reviews, we were terrified. I was pleasantly surprised to not agree with many. Room: We were on the 3rd floor of our building. I was worried that with the heat, it would be less than fun to take the steps but it was manageable. I would not recommend if you are older or less mobile (as there are not elevators). I would suggest requesting a lower room. Our room was clean and attending to daily or every other day. My only downfall was that the AC was not as cool as we would have liked it but we got used to it. The rain shower head was amazing! Food/Drink: As some reviews stated, some of the food options lacked slightly but most were wonderful! El Gaucho (steakhouse) had a wonderful bacon wrapped filet. However, our favorites were definitely the exclusive platinum restaurants. PBG for breakfast and dinner was amazing! Roberto and Augustin made our meals even better with their wonderful personalities and amazing service. However, SoHo was our favorite meal (again with our amazing servers). The difference in food as well worth the platinum upgrade. Cappuccino has amazing lattes (and a fun view) and we got coffee there almost daily, sometimes twice. The Platinum Beach Bar had amazing drinks and even better service thanks to Claudio and Perez. They will literally make you anything. The food trucks were decent for snacks at lunch time. The PBG pool bar is wonderful after a day on the beach. The bartenders were amazing there as well. The pool was clean and well kept. While there were a couple of days of sargassum (seaweed), they did a wonderful job of cleaning it off the beach and it was not anything that would deter us from returning at this time of year. There was never a time I felt unsafe on the resort. There is security on the beach even to keep the vendors from bothering you too much. We are American and speak English. However, after reading some reviews, we realized that we should brush up on our Spanish and I was happy I did. After all, it is not an English speaking country so we should try to learn their language. Most were happy to help me or would ask me to use my phone to translate. Overall, don’t believe everything you read. We are looking forward to returning and the platinum upgrade is DEFINITELY worth the extra money.

Disappointment
This is a timeshare, so trying to sell all the time. Best restaurants were not available, food was underwhelming. Seaweed stunk bad. Very few employees spoke English. Everything was spread out so had to use tram to get anywhere. WiFi was not reliable.
