Jan 08, 2026This place has become too member-centric
My family have been vacationing at GR Solaris since 2020 and generally have had good guest experiences. However, this recent trip was different. We usually spend the majority of our days at the adults only pool area because it is quieter and provides easy access to the hot tub. On Tuesday, we were told that the area was "off -limits" to non-members as there was a members-only event planned. Apparently this now occurs every Tuesday. While I understand membership has its perks, I think it is BS that paying guests should be restricted from common use areas to accommodate members. And since this is the only area designated a quiet zone and with a hot tub, we weren't left with many options. As I mentioned, we've been coming to Solaris for 5+ years, but I think this will be the last. If you want to be a members-only resort, you are well on your way!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Solaris Resort in Cancun. We experienced great service at all of the restaurants, especially the Zai restaurant! Our waiter, Israel, was super friendly and attentive, along with a great sense of humor! Our food was delivered quickly and our glasses were never empty. Would highly recommend!

Fun trip
My trip was very fun. The food, pool, hot tub, and beach were all nice entertainment. Yzrael Aguilar was also very nice and approachable. Meeting him made the whole experience better.

Great stay and super service
We enjoyed our stay at resort . Family oriented . The kids have so much fun as well. The new year party was supper!!! Ppl there are so friendly ! The food at the Don Gus was great never a regret and Nain gave us such a great service and he always wanted to make sure we are satisfied with the food and drink ! Extra bonus he took the best photos for us for the whole stay!

Our first impression upon arriving at the hotel was a slightly musty smell, which the hotel tries to mask with strong scents that can feel a bit overwhelming. However, everything else was great. They have a small kids’ area with two little slides, and even though it’s not large, my six-year-old had an absolute blast. The staff truly lives up to the reviews—everyone was incredibly welcoming and attentive, and they more than made up for the scent issue mentioned earlier. The hotel layout is very cozy, and one of the highlights is that you can see the ocean from virtually anywhere on the property, which is amazing. They also offer a few games for kids, and the café brews fresh coffee, which was a nice touch. Special shout-out to Israel, the entertainment coordinator! Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and made our stay enjoyable.
