    Beware of current construction next door and in hotel itself!

    We stayed in the resort Thursday - Tuesday the first week of September. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but I doubt we will return. Pros: Property - The property is well kept, everything is clean and modern - rooms ad common areas. We particularly enjoyed the amazing air freshener that is being pumped into main inside areas of the resort. Food - AH-MAZING! We read a lot of reviews about the quality and selection of food. Being a coffee lover, I appreciated the ability to get a latte any time during the day. There are both healthy and more indulging options of buffet to choose from. Everything is flavorful and fresh. Desserts... I gained 3 pounds, but totally worth it. They changed almost every day and are absolutely not as sweet as in the US. Reservations to specialty restaurants are easy through the app. There are 3 to choose from. One (Asian) is only open on Wednesday, so we missed that. But we mostly opted for general dinner buffet. They change the theme every night. Entertainment - the staff does a great job of providing different activities to engage everyone. We appreciated the fact that they offer different shows at night. They are short - about 30 min, but still gives guests something to do at night besides eating. The dancers are professional. We enjoyed the last cultural Mexican show. In my opinion, they should offer something along those lines especially every night to promote and showcase local culture more. Disney - kids and parents can get that anywhere! :) As adults, you also have the option to be shuttled to a night club at their sister hotel 1 mile down the road, but the night we were there, not much action was happening there either. Amenities - pool area is well maintained. Beach was perfect. Super easy access. A bit of sea weed, but nothing too terrible. I came for peace and quiet of the beach and I got that. I did not care for loud music and kids splashing at the pool. Cons: If peace and quiet is your priority, the only way you are going to get it is at the beach. There is full on construction happening next door. They are building a new hotel. Drilling and sawing nonstop, ALL DAY LONG, EVERY DAY. Except Sunday. Starts as early at 8am and goes on well into 7-8pm. Even on the beach you can hear it, just not as loud. As if construction next door was not enough, the resorts ITSELF turned into a full on construction zone on Monday! Parts of the resort are blocked. Concrete drilling right next to main pool area NONSTOP. Thankfully, we had to ensure that for 1.5 days. So, beware, peace and quiet is non-existent right now. We found out how PAPER THIN the walls of the hotel are also on Monday morning when we had people move in to the room next to us. For a 4-star resort, I would NOT expect to hear EVERY SIGNLE WORD from room next door at 7 am in the morning!!! I guess we were lucky our first 4 days having no neighbors. For 4 stars, I would also expect the hotel staff to RESPECT guest sleep time, as well. Nope! Forget the hotel guests shouting in the hallways early in the morning and slamming doors. Staff would park their carts ans restock items from storage making ridiculous noise at 7-8am in the morning right outside our room!!! I specifically requested to be far away from elevators on the highest floor, but that did not help at all. Hope this review helps someone. We all come to vacation for different reasons.
