    Disaster vacation

    Read this review before you book. Just returned home from a staying at this resort and it was a disaster from the start. Upon arrival we gathered our room key after a long wait in the receptionist line (always 1 receptionist at all times and always backed up). We entered our room to discover it was freshly painted and reeked of the smell. Within 15 minutes I had killed 2 giant cockroaches. We requested a new room, which was downgraded the first night and upgraded the following 2 nights. My girlfriend was told she has “an American attitude” by the manager of Expedia on site for asking a simple question regarding their shuttle services. The staff was clueless and have to call their supervisor for everything no matter how small. The bartenders get annoyed when you ask for a drink after last call (30 mins before it shuts down). The adult side pool was ice cold and 0 entertainment. I felt that I could drink a whole bottle of tequila without catching a buzz, I was sober the whole trip. The waitstaff were very nice, kudos to them. The buffet food was terrible, the Mexican restaurant menu was terrible. The Asian and the French restaurant were good. We ordered room service that never showed up. Definitely not a place I would return to or recommend to anyone. The price point from Expedia baited me in, but do not fall for the trap.

    Enjoyable Massage and facial

    Giselle did a lovely job with both the Swedish massage and facial! This was my first facial and I’m so glad I tried it here! It was so relaxing!

    We had a wonderful stay at GR Solaris & Spa, and it truly exceeded all of our expectations. The resort itself is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, but what really made our experience unforgettable was the entertainment staff and Estefany. A huge shoutout to Estefany. Very sweet and friendly front desk employee. She was absolutely amazing! Her energy, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm made our stay from beginning to end an absolute delight. The entertainment staff was awesome. From daily activities, pool activities and to the nightly entertainment, they went above and beyond to make everyone feel included and entertained. You can tell they truly love what they do, and it shows in the way they connect with all the guests. One of the most unforgettable moments of our stay was when Santa arrived by helicopter right on the beach. Truly a magical and something we will never forget! It was such a unique and exciting experience that brought smiles to all of us and made our vacation even more special. Because of the incredible staff and unforgettable moments like this, our stay was filled with laughter, joy, and amazing memories. GR Solaris & Spa is a fantastic resort, and we cannot wait to return. Highly recommend. especially for the outstanding entertainment team!

    Would recommend

    Brenny and Giselle were wonderful masseurs. Very skilled and attentive. The space was clean and very relaxing. Cost was more than I would pay at home (Wisconsin) but reasonable for Cancún. Would suggest wearing your swimsuit to go to your appointment as we skipped the jacuzzi because we didn’t have ours with us.
