Golden parnasus hotel
Time to write a review. We're currently staying at this hotel from June 25th, 2025 to July 7th, 2025. After 5 days of vacation, I'd like to start with some positive feedback. The staff working in the dining areas, at the beach, and the housekeeping team deserve 5-star recognition. They are very polite, helpful, and many speak decent English. Housekeeping does a great job — the rooms are cleaned properly, and even the floors are mopped daily. However, I can’t leave a positive review about the reception. You often have to wait a long time when requesting something. When we arrived, there were no towels in our room, and unfortunately, we only received them the next day in the afternoon. Also, the toilet got clogged for two days in a row, and we had to wait about 7 hours for someone to come and fix it. One thing I really liked was the dinner setup — every night you get to dine in a different à la carte restaurant, which gives you the chance to dress up and enjoy a nice meal (all included). Just keep in mind, the portions are quite small. For example, if you order Caesar salad, you'll likely get a lettuce leaf with some dressing and croutons. The food selection is wide in the main buffet — chicken, pork, and beef are available every day. Personally, I only missed having more fresh vegetables. You can get alcoholic cocktails both at the beach and inside the hotel, which is a nice touch. There are two elevators, but only one is working. A big downside is that there's no kettle in the room. Considering that guests are coming from different time zones, it would be great to have a way to make coffee as soon as you wake up, instead of waiting until 6 a.m. (Mexico time). For those worried about sargassum on the beach, the hotel is doing a great job — there’s barely any seaweed. Overall: I would rate this as a 4-star hotel. Some room and property renovations are needed. Excursions are expensive, starting at around $150 per person. Also, the ATM in the hotel charges an extra $15 for cash withdrawals.

Manage your expectations
This is categorically not a 4 star hotel, neither would I describe it as a 3 star. The hotel is in dire need of maintenance and looks very tired. Problems One lift permanently out of use. Other remaining lift constantly breaking down. Leaking ceiling above central statue in foyer. Floor in 60’s bar seriously damaged. Chipped crockery in main restaurant. Other guests complaining about AC in their rooms not working Insufficient umbrellas by pool Lack of entertainment in the evenings Female spa closed Positives Lovely staff Good gym

Amazing Staff, But the Hotel Itself Was a Major Letdown
I stayed at the Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa for two weeks and unfortunately, it was not the experience I was promised or paid for. The hotel is not as advertised. The photographs online are clearly outdated and do not reflect the current condition of the resort. The hotel was in a poor state of repair — damp patches, water leaks everywhere with towels and buckets scattered throughout the property, and visibly crumbling walls. The umbrellas around the pool were rusted and full of holes. Despite being “all-inclusive,” only a maximum of two restaurants were open in the evenings, with limited variety compared to what was promised. The worst part was a serious safety hazard: a fan by the lobby bar had no protective cover, and I happened to catch myself after accidentally brushing against it. I now have severe bruising on the side of my chest as a result which only started showing after. That said, I want to be clear that the staff were absolutely wonderful – warm, attentive, and doing their best despite the poor condition of the hotel. Their service was the one redeeming aspect of the stay. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and misled. would not recommend this resort in its current state.

Don't dismiss due to other reviews
Varied reviews re this hotel. Visited June 25 first time. Yes the decor is tired but that aside, WIFI worked fine the whole time that we were there, one lift worked and stairs are available. The food is more than acceptable and as many reviews state, the staff are great, must mention Oscar!! The swimming pool which was on the beachfront was clean with a good number of beds. Going when we went there was more than enough sunbeds. Beachfront bar was a great place to be. Evening entertainment was a bit lacking but Fiesta night was good.

Staff great and food and Beach view. Rooms was disappointing and place itself. Needs upgrades.
The staff was really friendly. Oscar, Fonzy, and many more. The food was good. Cooked as you wait in buffet. We been here twice before, The rooms a/c was hot. We switched rooms 5times. One elevator worked sometimes. Water leaking in rooms. Some brown water coming out of faucet. Will not go back,
