Great service. Great food. Beautiful setting. My daughter got married and they were amazing. Everything was perfect without one issue. Would definitely return. Highly recommend this location for weddings
We had our destination wedding here on March 29, 2019 and it was everything we had hoped for and more! We had close to 65 guests attend (family, friends, and children) and were given the royal treatment. We had access to the adjoining adults-only properties for restaurants and bars. We were upgraded to a suite that was bigger than our current apartment. Most of our guests were also upgraded to swim up rooms as a courtesy. The rooms were amazing, the food was delicious/fresh and the wedding was a thing of dreams! All of our family and friends still rave about the resort and ask us when we’ll plan our next trip there. At the time the hotel offered a “Cash for your Bash” promotion which made our wedding affordable (not sure if they still do). We would have easily spent double-triple had we attempted the same wedding stateside. We did the ceremony on the covered pier, and our cocktail and reception under the Palapa Ganesh. Big shoutout to the following staff members: Wedding Designer: Claudia Cantillo (Who we corresponded with vía email) Onsite Coordinator: Isela Arenas Butlers: Johnathan & Christina Photographers, DJ, & MC Tips: 1) We attempted to have welcome gifts delivered to rooms as guests checked in through someone else in wedding department (not listed). This was a bit of a mess but definitely not a deal breaker. Not worth the hassle/money. It would have been easier to hold on to them and hand them out to our guests personally as everyone stopped in at our room. 2) GF cake- I have a gluten allergy. While they definitely had GF options that were delicious at each of the restaurants our GF wedding cake was not one of them; No hard feelings. The dessert provided as part of the 3 course meal was stellar so we were the only two to have a bite of the small “cake.” 3) Do: splurge on the surf and turf for the wedding meal! We were expecting the lobsters to be tiny and they were huge!!! So good too. 4) Do: order breakfast and room service and prepare for a delectable treat! We’ve never had butlers before and they were amazing. 5) Do: attend the cultural night and eat the traditional food. Beautiful authentic dancing and yummy food.
Destination Wedding Guest (w/child)
I traveled for a destination wedding w/my 5 year old in late Jan early Feb 2020. The staff at every location on campus was EXCELLENT! They are all SO friendly especially Jesus (concierge). The customer service was beyond my expectations. The hotel was quiet for the time of year that we went. The pool water was cold (not their fault) and I think that was because the weather wasn't that hot during our trip; not complaining about that. It made the off-site excursions more enjoyable (not being so hot). Booking trips off-campus was easy. Room service was prompt and delicious. Housekeeping services were good. The only "complaints" that I had were 1) the A/C unit or ventilation in our room was not great. Our room remained damp during the trip and when we came home, all of our belongings had an almost mildew smell to them. It took a couple of washes to get that smell out. I forgot my room number, but I know we were in Building 19... 2) the swim up pool/bar service. There were not NEARLY enough servers/staff manning that bar during the day!! The bar service covered poolside guests and guests at the nearby beach. There was (typically) only 2 "runners" and ONLY ONE bar tender making the drinks. No way. Gotta get more folks behind that bar!.. 3) that Asian restaurant was awful. The service/staff was wonderful, but the actual food was terrible. We had a party of 4 and every one of us was disappointed with our dish (we all got something different). The bright spot (food-wise) is definitely the Market (FABULOUS buffets!) and the Mediterranean restaurant. The food and service staff at both were EXCELLENT. I like to try new resorts for travel, but I really would like to go back there for vacation again. The people working there make the experience so wonderful; even my 5YO loved it and didn't want to leave.
Wonderful family holiday
We have visited several Karisma resorts for some time now and it’s never a disappointment. Amazing service and food! Our girls enjoyed the kids club, which was perfect for us to have some quality alone time in the adult only El Dorado hotels in the same property and enjoy some of the restaurants during the stay. We look forward to return back and bring more family members over
Our home away from home!
We recently stayed at Generations again, which we consider our home away from home. Although we don’t travel with any children, we still choose to stay here because of the incredible staff. Mariana Montes is the manager and an excellent leader. She consistently checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed. We consider so many of the staff to now be very close friends of ours. To begin with, we had phenomenal butlers. Our primary butlers were Israel, Imelda, Jesus and María José, but Abril, Luiz and Melissa also stepped in to help us when needed. I can’t say enough good things about these wonderful people. We also absolutely love the entertainment staff starting with their leader, Myruiel. We had so much fun interacting with Jimmy, Sofia and Natalia. We enjoyed our various meals at the different restaurants and the impeccable service provided by Rocha, David, Carlos, and Esther at both Palms and Chef’s Market. We were always greeted with great smiles and hand sanitizer by the hostesses Lizbeth and Teresita. We had two dinners at the Wine Kitchen with scrumptious food prepared by Chef Daniel and served by Baldo. The hostess, Fernanda, made sure we had everything we needed. By the pool and at the beach we received outstanding drink service from Marisol, Rosaura, Ana and Alexis. Guillen helped me find shady places to sit. We so appreciate the live music played by Cygnus both at Generations during the day and at Guacamayas at night. JuanRas was also an excellent entertainer playing at both locations also. We went to the El Dorado side every day to have smoothies prepared by Juan and Andrea at the Health Bar with Lorena always making sure we had napkins or anything else we needed. We are so grateful for Edgar and Fabiola, sommeliers extraordinaire, who did the wine tasting with us twice a week. We also had delicious dinners prepared by Chef David and served by Jose at Da’Italia Casitas. Our dinner was also excellent at Santa Fe, prepared by Chef Milton and served by Jaime. We enjoyed the members gala at Fuentes served to us by Carlos. It was nice to also be acknowledged by our former waiters Jesus and Norberto, hostess Jackie and sommelier Piet. Generations is truly a fabulous place to stay whether you have children or not. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is the best ever!
