Beautiful Setting, but Repeated Service Failures and Poor Management Ruined Our Stay
We stayed at Garza Blanca expecting a luxury experience, but unfortunately, our stay was filled with repeated service issues that overshadowed the beauty of the property. We had originally booked a one-bedroom suite to comfortably accommodate our family of four, but upon arrival we were downgraded to a honeymoon suite without any advance notice. The new room was noticeably smaller, lacked a dining area, and had no laundry facilities, making it impractical for a family with two children. The space felt cramped and far below the standard of what we paid for. Considering the significant price difference between the one-bedroom and honeymoon suites, the downgrade was unacceptable, and no adjustment or sincere apology was offered. To make matters worse, we were without hot water for 24 hours during our stay. For a resort that promotes itself as five-star luxury, this was unacceptable and poorly handled, with little urgency or accountability from management. Breakfast was another daily frustration. Despite plenty of open tables, our family wasn’t allowed to sit together unless every single member of our party was physically present. (This is a large property and it would take is 10-15 minutes to get to the restaurant from the other side of the resort because of the downgrade). Even when some of us had already arrived and the others were just a few minutes behind, we were told to wait. Elaine, who managed the steakhouse where breakfast was served, enforced this rigid policy with no flexibility or attempt to problem-solve, even when it was clear there was ample seating. This lack of hospitality and unwillingness to accommodate was surprising for a resort at this level. Even our departure was mishandled. I asked the bellmen to have our prepaid airport shuttle come 30 minutes earlier so we could leave for the airport ahead of schedule. He agreed and said we could leave whenever we desired. When I returned after getting changed, we were placed in a cab instead, as the staff had forgotten about our prepaid shuttle. About five minutes into the ride, the hotel called the driver and told us to turn around and come back to switch vehicles. We had to return to the hotel, losing valuable time before our flight. Although I tipped the cab driver since it wasn’t his fault, the situation was completely avoidable and created unnecessary stress at the end of our stay. The property itself is stunning, but luxury is about more than views — it’s about service, consistency, and care for guests. Between the room downgrade, lack of hot water, rigid and unaccommodating breakfast staff, and the mishandled departure, our stay felt chaotic and disappointing from start to finish. What should have been a relaxing family vacation turned into a series of frustrating experiences. For the price and reputation, Garza Blanca fell far short of expectations.

Garza Blanca experience
The experience in Puerto Vallarta was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Over my lifetime, I have visited over 18 countries and I have to say the food, environment and hospitality was 2nd to none. From the beachside accommodations to the people and how they go out of their way to make sure you are good. My favorite restaurant was by far the Bocados located on the Garza Blanca Resort. Ricardo was an excellent waiter and made sure we were good as we celebrated our 25 year Wedding Anniversary. Excellent all the way!!

The best experience yet
I would like to give a special shout out to Elaine from Bocados 4. I believe she is a manager. She recommended Karuma Restaurante bc of the amazing chef Danny from Argentina. It was Thanksgiving and this amazing chef Danny came out just for us. He prepared our TomaHawk steak in front of us in front of the whole restaurant. We felt so so special. Thank you to all the staff at Garza Blanca PV. WE WILL BE BACK PERIOD.

False advertising of hotel suites
We booked a room based on the photos from the Expedia, and what we received was completely different. We spent so much money and expected a room in the new towers. The hotel refused to move us into the room that we paid for, and did not even apologize for the inconvenience. No effort was made to make our experience better. There was constant construction and noise on the beach, caused by two huge tractors dragging rocks all day, making it impossible to relax. We were incredibly disappointed with our stay.
