OVERCHARGED AND NEVER REIMBURSED
The hotel is family friendly. You have to take into account that if you don't eat with them the nearest restaurant is 45min away. Review your check and invoices, they charged us more than expected and NEVER NEVER did the reimbursement. Such a dishonest administration.

Peaceful
Nice but dated resort. Beds comfortable. Staff nice. Food good. Pool is nice (cold) but they needed more staff at the pool bar. Had to wait over 15 mins to get a drink. No bathrooms near the pool. Had to go all the way back to the main lobby, or your room, for the bathroom. Easy activities can be booked but had to wait in a long line as they only had one lady booking tours. Overall pretty place with great views.

Gamboa is a great place to begin a vacation
I love Gamboa, my wife and I live in Panamá and when we have guests the first place we take them is to Gamboa to get a taste of the rainforest, relax and get used to the weather. The excursions are great, the pool is a lot of fun and it’s just a great place to begin a visit from friends. The reason for four stars and not five is the food. Although it is getting better (finally) it still has a long way to go until it is the same quality as the resort. One big new thing is that the nice little dining room on the stairs is finally open!!! A great space for a dinner, but again, the food….

Low quality food, poor customer service
Little changes could make this a great place, but they just don't seem to care. They cater mainly to tourists (I am not a tourist), and have a captive audience that they make little effort to please. I suggest hiring a foreigner as a consultant to teach your staff how to treat foreigners and what their expectations are. Panamanians may be used to sloppy service and poor quality food; foreigners expect more, and in many cases, what you consider 'normal' is just rude to others. I stayed here once before and have visited several times, but I would not return. Little changes could make a huge difference, but you seem to be getting worse rather than better. Read the multiple reviews that say the same thing. Why do you ask for feedback if you are just going to ignore it?

Not coming back… the staff is not friendly at all and have zero disposition to help..
I went with my 3 kids and my mother in law in a 2 nights 3 day stay just to discover that on Mondays there are no activities, every tour is closed… so all we could do is a little hike and play in the pool… but the staff in the pool are not in good disposition at all… maybe they’re tired because of the heat. But in general, the staff look bored, with no intention to help you in any way.. The facilites are old, worn out and not so clean.. I could see spider webs in the stairs. It’s our first time in Gamboa, also a first to Panama, but definitely not coming back, nor recommending the place…
