Things to Know

  • The resort is home to a three-quarters mile stretch of pristine beach and a fabulous spa; what more could you want?
Feel like it's time to check out for awhile? Look no further than the 40 secluded acres of beachfront tropical gardens, lagoons and three-quarters of a mile of private, white sand beach at this all-inclusive resort in Antigua. The resort's commitment to peace and serenity means no children (other than during Christmas/New Year holidays).

The beach at this resort is simply splendid. Sporting a private stretch of inviting white sand along the placid and protected Caribbean, the resort makes it easy to rest beneath scattered shady palms or to enjoy a refreshing swim in the calm water. The sparkling free-form pool guarantees a relaxing experience thanks to its built-in, cascading waterfalls.

Surprise your sweetie with couple's treatments at Indulge Spa, set along lagoon waters in the heart of a bird sanctuary. Continue your indulgence in the private spa pool and surrounding deck, or - for the ultimate experience in private relaxation - try the spa's in-room treatments, where a little taste of heaven is delivered right to your suite.

When you're feeling hungry, enjoy award-winning Caribbean dishes at Sea Grape Restaurant. Enjoy the thatched roof ambiance and grilled fare at Gauguin's or claim your beachfront spot at Ismay's for a feast of local specialties. Post-feast, make a point of stopping by the Teepee Bar for a drink.

As for rooms, we love the Premium Beachfront Suite, where guests can make themselves at home with a sunken living room and a wet bar overlooking the seemingly endless views of the ocean. It's the perfect oasis for making memories with your special someone.

Felt like home..relaxing g and inviting!

My sister and I finally took a trip without our families. We were greeted with drinks and smiles. The employee that took us to the room was helpful and informative. The room was clean and well stocked. The view ..wonderful. Just the sound of the waves makes you forget about snow and your problems. The pool is wonderful. We rode bikes and played pingpong. Had afternoon coffee. We also took a cab to St John. One of the highlights was the garden tour. We never knew there were so many kinds of plants and flowers. Very informative. But the best was the food. We are both foodies. The variety of what is offered was great. We did favor the Sea Grape. The staff was friendly and answered any of our questions. We did listen to the entertainment at nite and did partake in some refreshments. All the staff from office workers, groundskeepers, housekeepers, servers etc. You all did a fantastic job. Hated to go back home. Thank you for the memories.

I booked Galley Bay for a short getaway in May, 2020. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the resort CLOSED the property till June 15, 2020. As a result, they offered me a credit to be used for the next 18 months. I asked for a COMPLETE REFUND as I'm not sure if/when I will be able to get down there again and I didn't cancel the booking, they closed the resort.....Bottom line is that THEY REFUSED to offer me a refund.....so, I am now working w/ my credit card company to get my money back....This is a shady operation and leaves me with a very bad taste to ever consider rebooking....There are SO MANY other great resorts that would never treat their customers this way!!! I know these are unprecedented times and no one would ever have seen this coming, but taking advantage of potential customers is not the way to conduct business.... So sad that the 'corporate office' is damaging the resort...Employees at the resort will be the ones that will suffer!!!

    Relaxing resort

We stayed for a week in March , we had a premium deluxe beach villa which was a charming little villa , straight out onto the beach which itself was a stunning 3/4 of a mile of golden sand ! The food & drinks were top notch everywhere we went . We ate at every restaurant & the food was amazing, we loved the bare foot grill at lunchtime , the burgers were great along with everything from the press, sat by the sea having a snack was our favourite!! The staff were all super friendly & couldn't do enough for anyone! All in all a very quiet , relaxing holiday on the beautiful island of Antigua. If I had one small gripe it was the long trousers evening dress code for men, I really think it could be toned down to collared shirts & tailored shorts...( Seems a bit stuffy for the Caribbean)we have been to other resorts of this calibre & never had this rule imposed throughout every bar & restaurant in the evening!

    Great week in paradise

Amazing week spent at Galley Bay! The grounds are beautiful and nothing beats being able to walk right out of your room and onto the beach! This was the best food we’ve ever experienced at an all inclusive. We didn’t make it to Ismays but Gaugins was so good we didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else. Make sure you get the wings and key lime pie at lunch! I will say Galley Bay is an older crowd. We are in our mid 30s and were probably the youngest ones there. We did meet a few younger couples, but if you’re looking for a party resort, this is definitely not for you. Iba and Tamsyn were amazing at helping us plan excursions. We did the XTreme Circumnav island tour and eco tour. If I had to pick one, I’d definitely do the XTreme. You see all of beautiful Antigua! The eco was also amazing though, as we got to climb through the cave at Hells Gate. We did experience quite a few red flag days, but rode a bike over to the bay next door and also took advantage of the free shuttle. The water at the bay is much calmer. Take comfortable shoes and hike up the fort for some amazing views as well! If you are looking for seashells, head over across the bridge to the bay near the mansion for lots of great finds! Hope to return again one day! 🏝
