Watch out if you are bringing an infant with you

I stayed in Four Seasons Punta Mita with my wife and my little daughter (4 months old) from May 1st - 4th, 2025. Overall, we had a good stay, but I would like to highlight the pros and cons mostly on taking a little one with you: PROS: - Food was great as expected for a Four Season hotel even though the high price tag. You should expect top-notch quality food from all restaurants. - Staff is adorable, they will always try hard to make your stay the most memorable and pleasant as possible. No complaints about anyone - The location is marvelous, great place to relax with a more selective audience. CONS: - They do claim to have a program called Baby for all seasons to support you with your little one and this was the exact reason why I chose this resort for the first trip with my 4 months baby. However, during the reservation directly with them, I listed all the items I would like to have: crib, nursing pillow, changing mat and a bath tub - and after arriving at the bedroom (casita garden), there was only the crib. After requesting the other stuffs, they were able to provide the bath tub and nursing pillow. On the other hand, we upgraded to a front seat suite for the last 2 days and there they arranged the changing mat and also a baby gym the my daughter loved. - I hired their transfer service from airport to hotel and hotel to airport. In the first leg, there was no infant car seat and we had to wait 20min more for them to find one in the storage, but at least they found and my daughter was correctly protected. However, in the way back to the airport there was NO infant car seat available even though I requested multiple times during the reservation and in the day before to the front desk. At the end they figured out one of those car seats that could go rear facing, but without the appropriate infant mattress to better support my daughter’s head - it was a great disappointment for me. The driver did a great job going quite slow and I was holding her head during the entire trip - this is something unacceptable for a Four Seasons Hotel with such an expensive service and claiming that they have a baby’s program. - The room was quite old. I expected something more modern there, but we could see that the structure needs some improvement, shower temperature was tough to control, blackout wood door was tough to manage and there was not much technology in the bedroom. All that said, and mostly related with my child safety that is non negotiable, I could not give more than 3 stars to my experience. When you talk about a Four Seasons, you set an high bar of expectations and they failed miserably in the most relevant one that is my baby’s safety although being notified multiple times beforehand. Last but bot least, if you are thinking about bringing your own baby, I would advise bringing your own infant car seat with you to ensure your little one is protected.

    Meh

We stayed here because my husband wanted to play the Pacifico golf course which was lovely (albeit very slow pace of play). At the hotel, service staff were excellent. Of particular note were Enrico who lead or tequila blending experience and our massage therapists. This is not a five-star luxury resort. It is showing wear in most areas including the rooms. There were TOO many rowdy children and the adult only pool is in a jungle setting with no view or redeeming qualities. Staff let some guy eat in the whirlpool which is just gross. The beach chair/palapa reservation system was bizarre. We couldn’t enjoy the infinity pool because it was overrun with aforementioned rowdy children.

    A must do, Bucket list.

one of the best places I have been. Great staff, rooms are the best. We were blown away by the resort, staff food and scenery. The pool is amazing. The kids room are stacked with activities. The lazy river,, stop, we loved it. The food also, the best. We really enjoyed this resort. Great for kids and adults.

    Mixed feelings

We had mixed feelings about the Four Seasons Punta Mita as well as the peninsula itself. First the good. The hotel is quite beautiful in its setting and landscaping. The pools and beaches are also gorgeous. Service was universally friendly. The included breakfast was great - we only had the buffet but there were tons of options including an omelette station. The so-so. The rooms were nice, but not as nice as plenty of other resorts we have visited. Our room had a septic type smell in the entryway - did not really bother us in the bed area and we found it went away when we left the patio door open (and the ac automatically turned off). The shower was quite small with a slippery floor and no mat. Some of the newer buildings looked nicer than ours - maybe they have better rooms. We were not in one of the casitas with plunge pools. The food in the various restaurants was pretty good, but not amazing. Probably not worth the prices. We had better meals in town and around the peninsula. Finally, we really did not care for the fact that we felt the resort was walled off from the real world and local flavor. It could have been anywhere in the world. I guess safety is what people who can afford this level of luxury want, but we prefer to be in a more authentic locale on vacation. The bad. While I mentioned that food prices were high, that was nothing compared to drink prices. I'm talking a 10x markup on a bottle of wine!!! $120 for a $12 dollar bottle of New Zealand sauvignon blanc is outrageous. Even the Mexican wines were generally at least $80 - $90 for a bottle. As expected, most cocktails were $20 and up - at least that is not a 10x markup. Beer was quite reasonable. Given the number of other places we hope to visit, we will probably not come back, though other members of our family might.
