Small resort but such a good place

Beautiful, fun, but I'm not sure if it was off season or just slow overall. The moment we arrived the bellhop was so nice - cant remember his name but he was thin and probably a few years older than me (50?). He later showed me to the room, explained everything, and assured me it was no problem to ask for anything if I called the front desk. The check in lady was so nice, we instantly got some cucumber something welcome drink. She of course tried to ask us if we wanted to listen to the timeshare thing but she wasn't too pushy when we said no. She then asked us if we wanted some other type of drink and we got margaritas. Our room wasn't ready since we got there early in the day but as I was walking to the pool chairs with our margaritas Juan (the day bartender) shouted out asking if our drinks were okay. Just making sure we liked them. Juan quickly became one of our favorite employee. We got into a big shampoo joke - because instead of saying champagne or sparkling wine we somehow started calling it shampoo. Every single day we saw Juan he was always in the best mood and talking/joking with us. Miguel was the pool waiter/server and would check on us non-stop. We never ordered lunch through him but he made it clear he would do anything we needed. He would even see our glasses were getting empty and come over saying "i brought you more shampoo". Also the one day it started pouring down rain and we went to sit in the covered area where everyone else was and it was crowded - Miguel went out of his way somewhere to grab us an extra chair. Jorge was the night bartender and he was so fabulous too. We really enjoyed talking/laughing with him. The one night we ordered our "shampoo" and we got a strawberry in it. I said to my husband "omg jorge loves us" and he said "yes of course i do". The resort had good snorkeling but luckily we brought our own equipment because they did give some people life jackets, but unfortunately they dont give out the snorkel gear, due to guests not returning them. They do not do towel cards which was great. I think I just read a review from Chuck who was a guest we met, talking about how much fun casino night was. It was fun. I wish I could find out how our roulette dealer is doing - we got a good selfie with him - and he was really fun - but he only works there one day a week. I love when employees will tell me about their personal life - i ask if they have kids/dogs/cats and I just hope he sent our selfie to his girlfriend. Okay so now back to things other people might want to hear about. The food was okay. We had some mediocre things but also some great things. One day the fish tacos were the absolute best, one day they were 4/5. Same with the fish sandwich at the grill - one day it was the best thing ever but the next day it was just okay. Overall the food was really good for an all inclusive. We also loved our waiter nick or Nicolas at the one restaurant. Their reservation system was so easy to use. Every single employee there was fantastic. Negatives- the bar didn't open until 11am and closed at 10 or 11 depending on the day. And while that is not terrible- coming from a different time zone I would have appreciated a place where they had a 24 hour or even like a 7am to 2am bar. I wish the pool would have been more fun - but it just seemed empty everyday so it was hard to make friends (not the resorts fault) and the entertainment was lacking because no one was really there to participate in the games. I did like there was a heated pool. Especially on the colder days. Okay- i think I've wrote enough - but again, shout out to juan, miguel, and Jorge.

Come to Fiesta Americana for fun.

Yazmin and Marshall were great entertainment personnel on Casino Night. We had a fun tune playing blackjack in the lobby on Wednesday night.

    Good Stay

    • Pros: Spacious room on the 6th floor with a great ocean view; check-in and check-out was fast and easy; good snorkeling off the shore (although getting in and out can be a little tricky); and extremely friendly staff. Some of the staff members who were amazing included: Miguel Acosta – waiter in the pool area Marshall Lopez – blackjack dealer during casino night Alexandra – breakfast buffet hostess Maria and Antonio – Asian Restaurant Llely Bonilla - greeter All the coffee bar employees Rubi – reception desk • Cons: The entertainment at the pool area lacked variety and was extremely loud, making it difficult to talk. There was no supper buffet.

    Repeat Fiesta Americana Guest!

This is our 9th time to Cozumel. It is our 4th time to stay at Fiesta Americana. This property is or go to now. There is still staff here from our first time we visited years ago. All staff we have been in direct contact with are hard working and kind. The room this time is the best yet. They appear to have listened to feedback and made improvements to fix perceived or actual shortcomings though few. The activity staff is great. We have have interacted with Sabina the most. She is, in my opinion, a great hire for the resort. She works hard all the time setting up events and activities, creating participation, maintaining engagement, and is is a great example of hospitality done the right way. The upstairs restaurants are being renovated, but they still have the Asian, Italian, and Mexican restaurants dinner options available. The sea side area is open and the two snack grills are available. I am guessing, since it is shoulder season, that the beach beds are open to anyone since I have not been asked to prove anything or been asked to vacate. I have, however, been wacked by family a few times for snoring ;) . This trip was our last family vacation before my wife and I are empty nesters since our son is about to venture of into the next chapter of his life. We were able to rack up some great "life credits*" this trip and Fiesta Americana contributed greatly. Thank you Fiesta Americana. * Die With Zero book reference
