    Service you’d expect at a motel 6

The cons: - horrible service - no light blocking in the casita rooms - Ants all over the room - Did I mention horrible service? The pros: - beautiful grounds - good restaurants - nice pools I really expected more from the Fairmont but the crux of my trip was horrible service. Some examples. - on multiple occasions had to ask 3+ times for a room service tray to be picked up. - Asked 4 times for the Ants in my room that were crawling all over the bathroom counters and my makeup products to be dealt with and they never were. - Bad service at the pools. Hard to track down servers. Service didn’t improve with generous tips. - only got good service when I rented a cabana for a day. - the Deluxe casita room I stayed in had these wooden sliding “shutters” that did not fully block out light making it impossible to sleep in. - I asked and set out laundry 3 days in a row that was never picked up, I even called royal service to request it and they did not. - very few bikes on the property. Only place they were abundant was the beach. But other than that forget it and then you have to wait 10+ minutes for a shuttle. I’m paying a $40 a day resort fee for bikes but none are available? Ridiculous. The grounds are beautiful and the food was very good. But I will not return. I will go back to the Andaz or Banyan Tree for the Mayakoba location.

    Wonderful Service + Staff

I want to thank the staff. They were INCREDIBLY helpful for a room change and made 100% difference in my experience. Mayakoba is a relaxing and peaceful side of Cancun. The upgrades at Fairmont make it a wonderful option beyond Rosewood. Thank you Valeria. Thank you.

The best girls weekend at the residences

We had a great stay at the Residences for a bachelorette getaway weekend. Edgar and Alejandro were our butlers and went above and beyond to make our stay extra personalized and comfortable. Edgar even went as far as helping me book a spa experience that matched the experience I was looking for. We loved spending the day at the swim up bar with Irvin who had the best personality and made the best drinks! Everything we did from the margarita making class to the boat tour of the Mayakoba properties. The food, spa, and amenities were top of the line. The transportation set up through the hotel couldn’t have been better. I will definitely be back!

    Fun at the Fairmont Mayakoba.

The hotel is first class. The staff makes it. Irvin at the pool bar was the best. A workhorse. Jimmy and Daniel at Brisa’s were great too. And of course Raul and staff at the lobby bar. And Israel at Tauro. Tauro steak house is the best. We were a bit disappointed with the menu at the Italian restaurant. Only 1 chicken dish. No meat dishes, except for meat lasagna. A little weak. Fuego was just ok. Sushi at lobby was good. And Gaia was excellent. There is an abundance of pool and beach chairs which is huge. No worrying about getting up early to get a chair. The property is extremely clean. The room cleaners don’t bother you - ever - even if you sleep in. And when you return to your room it is always clean and spotless. We didn’t get room service because the restaurants are too good. The only thing I wish they had was 1 more swim up bar. (They have 1 at a smaller pool). This pool was always crowded. I think they should add one to one of the larger pools. All in all we will be back soon! 5 star.

    Complete relaxation

Just an outstanding experience. We wouod go again and became completely relaxed within the day. The resort is sprawling and even at full capacity didn’t feel full. The service was excellent as well and the variety of restaurants were nice.
