We have just returned from our trip to the Fairmont Mayakoba. It was our first long haul trip with our baby boy of 10 months. The hotel staff were amazing and especially great with our son. A real family hotel. Special mention to Valentina Moreno who was so helpful whilst we were away and made the trip very special

Relaxing and spacious
Lovely and quiet resort. Our room felt like a retreat with a lively water view. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We rented a car and were able to go into Playa del Carmen very easily. Great location. I would recommend this resort for couples and families.

Jan 11, 2025Extremely Disappointing Check-in Experience at Fairmont Mayakoba
I arrived at Fairmont Mayakoba last night at 1 AM with two sleeping children, expecting a seamless check-in after a tiring journey. Unfortunately, what followed was anything but smooth. Despite having fully pre-paid for our stay via Booking.com, and having the app confirm that the payment was deducted from my account, the front desk insisted that I had not paid. They demanded that I pay for the entire stay again, making it clear that we would not be allowed to stay otherwise. Faced with no other choice, and to avoid further distress in front of my children, I was compelled to make an additional payment for one night. The situation escalated to the point where I had to create a significant scene at the front desk just to have our booking acknowledged. This ordeal consumed the first two hours of our vacation, spent on the phone with Booking.com trying to resolve the double charge, while my children were left waiting and exhausted. This morning, Booking.com had to call the hotel twice to confirm that we had indeed paid in full. We have received no information or apology of any sort from the hotel. As a frequent business traveler, spending up to a week per month at hotels, I have never encountered such poor service. If a hotel's systems are not working or they can't verify payment records at night, that should not become the guest's problem. It is crucial for a hotel of this stature to ensure their systems and staff are capable of handling such issues efficiently to avoid inconveniencing guests. I will never be returning.

A Stunning Getaway at Fairmont Mayakoba
We had an unforgettable stay at the beautiful Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico! The resort is absolutely stunning, and our Beach King Casita Suite exceeded all expectations – luxurious, spacious, and with breathtaking views. The dining experience was a highlight, with delicious options across all the restaurants. While La Laguna wasn’t my favorite, the overall quality of the food was outstanding. One activity I highly recommend is the lagoon boat tour. It’s a fantastic way to learn about the local wildlife and explore the resort's incredible property. A special shoutout to our butler, Daniel, who truly made our stay exceptional. From seamless transport around the property to handling reservations and so much more, he ensured we didn’t want for anything. Daniel’s service added a personal touch that we’ll never forget. Fairmont Mayakoba is a slice of paradise, and we can’t wait to return!

Enjoyed a relaxing 5 nights at the Fairmont. Food at the Maykana beachfront complex was outstanding. The breakfast buffet at La Laguna left much to be desired. Service was top notch. Alejandro Lemus, our butler, was professional and always available to help. Would return 100%
