Pure Magic
We are waiting in the airport to return home after the most magical week at the Fairmont Mayakoba. I’m not sure I can truly capture just how incredible this resort is or how truly exceptional the people that work there are but I’m going to try because this place is beyond incredible and in a class of its own. We are family of four from NYC with 2 kids ages 8 and 10 and were visiting Mexico for our first time as a family the week between Christmas and New Years. The pre-arrival coordination was seamless and set everything up for a fantastic trip. A few weeks before our arrival, our absolutely AWESOME butler team, Fernanda and Javier (more to come on these guys below!) reached out to assist with reservations for dinning and activities. We got set-up with our requested reservations and things were easily moved around as we needed after arriving. Super easy planning process. We stayed in a villa in the Heritage area of the resort. The room was stunning with a ton of space, gorgeous deck and all the amenities of home- kitchen, washer dryer, cozy couches, TVs etc. Each room had its own terrace, giant bathrooms including outdoor showers and the most insanely cozy beds. All this tucked into some of the most exquisite nature I’ve ever seen. You wake up to gorgeous trees, birds chirping and we were lucky enough to get a visit from a very cute family of monkeys which was a highlight of the trip. The resort is spacious and despite being peak season, it never felt crowded. You can move throughout the resort via foot, bikes or the many golf carts that shuttle guests around. The trails throughout the resort were the favorite part of the trip for me. There are these incredible mangroves and some of the most beautiful plants I’ve seen in my life. It truly feels like a dream, especially with all the holiday lights. The pools and beach are exceptional. We are more beach people so spent most of our time there but our daughter really enjoyed the slide at the pool. The beach is wonderful. Clear Caribbean water, perfectly maintained sand and shore. They have complementary activities along the beach such as paddle boards, kayaks and bogey boards which we loved. Kids can also grab footballs, volleyballs etc for the day and the beach staff could always be counted on to entertain the kids with a pick-up volleyball game! There are additional activities you can pay for all also arranged for at the beach, including jet skis, sea bobs and an awesome tubing ride. We did all 3 of these and had an absolute blast. The ocean is perfect for swimming, with very little waves and lifeguards on staff. There are ample pools throughout the resort and we really appreciated the small pools just off the beach which allowed for some of family to be in pool while others in the ocean. Beach service was equally awesome. We never any issues getting a great spot in the morning and had super attentive servers. Thank you Jorge, Erick and Alexander! The property has some incredible restaurants and a really good mix of cuisine. They generally have kids menus at each offering standard kid food but we really appreciated the fact that kids menus had some element of the cuisine for the respective restaurant. This allowed the kids to try some new things and feel a bit more immersed in the experience. For breakfast, we mainly did the buffet which offers a super wide selection of traditional American and Mexican breakfast foods and really stellar coffee. The buffet can have a bit of a wait so just prepare accordingly. For lunch we always ate at the beach which had great salads, sandwiches, tacos etc. Beach bar was awesome- be sure to try the Shark Bite! For dinners, we did different restaurants each night- all really special and truly beautiful. A highlight was La Laguna and seeing sea turtles just below us throughout our dinner… and my kids enjoyed watching me eat a grasshopper. My husband and son golfed and raved about the course, which was fun to play and equally beautiful. Dining and activities were all super accessible, family friendly and just all around enjoyable. Now let’s talk about this staff. No matter where I go or what type of trip I’m on, I’ve found the people are what truly makes the experience. We were fortunate to have Fernanda and Javier for our butler team and boy did we love these two! They absolutely made our trip and we really could not thank them enough for all they did for us during our stay. They are so warm, caring, knowledgeable and so genuine. We woke up each morning to a lovely text letting us know they were around to assist, they were never more than a few minutes to respond to a request and did everything they could to make our stay relaxing, fun and stress free. Our kids also really enjoyed speaking with them in Spanish and learning some new phrases. Overall, this was an amazing resort in a stunning setting with fun activities, delicious food and world class service. We were sad to leave and look forward to returning to this magical place soon.

A beautiful family vacation! 5⭐️ service!
We stayed at the Heritage side of the Fairmont Myakoba. Our trip was so memorable. The food, the beautiful property and the service was impeccable. Daniel and Alejandro took care of us and I can’t say enough good things about them. The service they provided our family was a top tier 5 star experience. Anything we needed they were there. They arranged all of our dinner reservations, checked in with us every morning to see what we needed and made our check out experience so seamless. They were both so personable and friendly. I lost my sweater at the resort and Alejandro had it delivered to my room within a few hours. We’ll definitely be back to this beautiful resort!

50 /50
First impressions of hotel, was just what I was looking for , lovely jungle environment , lots if wildlife and good size rooms , fairly good location to get into playa de carmen or arrange trips The biggest let down is the food ,all menus are very limited and not enough variety in resturants , the neighbouring hotels offer better quality of food but are highly priced , no evening entertainment, and what was put on over xmas was poor and chargeable. As a well travelled family we found this resort to be over priced , however we would recommend Mexico as a holiday destination, just be very aware of scammers around the airport and being wrongly advised by hotel staff to keep you within the hotel .

Phenomenal, again
Our second time there, stayed in the penthouse with family this time. Have nothing but wonderful things to say about this resort again, food, incredible, service, impeccable, they do not miss any attention to detail and beauty here. The staff everywhere is so nice, the resort itself is so, so stunning. We were blessed also to have Daniel + Alejandro as our personal butlers and they are just the most kind and wonderful people, cannot say enough about their service!
