Me and my family made a reservation to celebrate my son’s senior prom. We when we arrived at the hotel for our 2 night stay we received the great news that the hotel is fully booked and we put you and your family in smaller one bed room . WHAT????? I explained to them that we are staying for my son’s prom. We made the reservation ages ago. It is impossible to fit for people in a room like that. There answer is that there is no other option. We will gladly return your previously paid stay. FOR REAL. So if you are looking to stay at a place where they try to present themselves as a great hotel with everything you will need at your fingertips, be prepared to be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Your stay will be ruined the moment you get out of your car. This was supposed to be a memorable stay and celebration. I will certainly be, BUT IN WORST POSSIBLE WAY. Do not stay here.

I just returned from an incredible stay at the Fairmont El San Juan for a bachelor party with a group of 14 guys—and I can honestly say this hotel delivered on every level. I had a hiccup at the start with a third-party booking issue through Booking.com, but the management at El San Juan stepped up and resolved everything professionally. Their focus on guest experience was clear from the moment we arrived. The property is absolutely stunning—timeless architecture, lush grounds, and a vibrant yet relaxed energy. Our rooms were beautiful and always spotless thanks to our amazing housekeeper, Gloria. She made sure everything was immaculate every single day, and her attention to detail and kindness didn’t go unnoticed. You really don’t need to leave the resort. There’s a casino, two gorgeous pools with private cabanas, excellent restaurants, and a sleek, well-equipped gym. The center bar is a showstopper, and we had an unforgettable night with bottle service at Club Brava, which is right on-site and easily one of the best nightlife experiences in San Juan. That said, the location is also perfect for exploring. We did a boat day with snorkeling and took surf lessons nearby—both easy to arrange and absolutely worth it. A very special thank you to Yvonne Ramos—affectionately known as “Mom.” She’s a legend at the hotel, and now we know why. Her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel like VIPs from start to finish. She truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was top tier. If you’re heading to San Juan—whether for a celebration, vacation, or just a getaway—do yourself a favor and stay at the Fairmont El San Juan. We’ll definitely be back.

Jun 01, 2025Mediocre and very expensive
The lobby bars and casino at night are exuberant and great fun. However, the hotel is mediocre and expensive. Service across the hotel is weak from check-in to luggage assistance to even having to fill up water bottles left empty with instructions to go to the ice machine. I can accept this from a lower-cost motel, but not considering the cost here is very much that of an ocean-front resort. The room was decently appointed. Ocean view was lovely. Linens were nice. TV was new. But the floor was dirty and constantly wet from condensation - slippery and nasty. The area rug around the bed felt and looked dirty. The room door stuck and was hard to close, the security lock didn't work and one of the two sink drains in the bathroom was stuck. We will come back for the party atmosphere in the lobby at night, but we won't stay here again.

Wonderful
Our stay at the fairmont el San Juan was great. We reserved two rooms with a partial ocean view. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The hotel staff were all friendly and eager to help. The staff really made our stay special. The hotel amenities were wonderful. So much to do! Live music. We really enjoyed the pools and the swim up bar. Food at the hotel was really delicious but pricey. We chose to walk down the street to eat most of the times. Piu Bello was great for breakfast. Metropol was great for lunch and dinner. We rented a car and the valet parking was quick and easy.

The most amazing resort experience
The Fairmont El San Juan resort was wonderful in every single way possible. From checking in with Kenneth at the Front Desk to Carols & Luis at the Pool Bar, Jerry at the buffet and Kenneth and Charlene at the Lobby Bar everyone was so passionate about their craft and happy to be at our service. The hotel itself is breathtaking and the beach was wonderful. Need to come back ASAP!
