Thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at OBBR!
Just got home from our stay and our thoughts go out to the management and staff who were so caring and professional in this unprecedented and difficult time. Have been going there for 15 years and gotten to know many of the wonderful people. Ricardo Perez, the GM, kept us all informed about government guidelines and he and staff help us all with travel plans. It is of course a wonderful place to vacation in normal times and so much fun! If you go once, you will very likely want to go back. Such a special place!
Travel in the time of Corona Virus
We had an excellent experience at Oyster Bay Beach Resort during our stay from 3/14 to 2/21. When we arrived it was business as usual, the resort is lovely and the pool and service are first class. St. Martin is one of our favorite places to visit. But as travel restrictions increased daily and CDC guidelines required social distancing, Ricardo Perez and staff stepped up! Cleansing protocols, flight cancellations, communication, scheduling, and leaving early added much stress to our stay. The service was amazing everything was kept clean and spotless. They took visitor and employee temps daily and gave us a different colored bands to indicate our cooperation. Half the staff was sent home and the remaining people worked very hard with great attitudes. Mr. Perez had a meeting twice daily, answering questions and helped everyone find flights. We had excellent take out food supplied from the restaurant and the bar while using social distancing. he provided entertainment form Bobo which was uplifting and fun. One the day we left the resort gave us gloves and disinfecting wipes to use as we traveled. We will certainly come back. We are time share owners with Oyster Bay and feel it is a great investment. A big thank you to everyone at Oyster Bay Beach resort. Terri and Shawn
A great place to be during a world pandemic
For the past several weeks we have been in Saint Marten at the Oyster Bay Beach Resort, and having a wonderful time until our current worldwide situation showed its ugly head. Saint Martin ordered all foreigners to leave the country immediately and so we are back in the USA sooner than we planned. When we received this directive the entire island panicked and visitors over the world tried to contact airlines. We learned quickly that contacting an airline meant 2 to 4 hours on the line and the flight information changed by the hour.the hotel management in particular Mister Ricardo gave us updates twice a day and I know firsthand that he held many visitors connected with airline's for returned back to their countries. For those who are going to have to remain on the island for the next weeks or months he changed rates etc. to make sure that these people would not be overcharged, and be fed. It was nice to know that the hotel with take such a personal interest and all of us and make sure that our stay even under these bizarre conditions would be a time to remember. As always the resort staff housekeeping landscaping activities desk etc. were first-class. They always had a smiling face, could find time to say good morning the afternoon, and made you feel like you are part of the family of oyster Bay resort. Unfortunately the island on the French side shut down and some of the restaurants that we know we would visit with no longer available to us. However the new chef at the Infinity restaurant did a great job in making sure that we had great meals at a reasonable price and the very adequate portion. I am glad that I am an owner at Oyster Bay Beach Resort and was Suggest to those of you were considering a place for timeshare look at what's available there. We bought our first unit in 1997 and have enjoyed almost 21 years at the resort. As a matter of fact we now own four units and have no desire to exchange with anyone because the time it oyster Bay is always exciting memorable and most of all pleasant. The landscaping at the resort is very nice and are constantly updating the plants as well as painting sidewalks walls buildings etc. For those of you who may have been there before and remember the entrance way it has been greatly improved and it was paved while we were there. As far safety is concerned we felt no threat from anything. We walked around we knew that security was at the gate watching it were other security people around and we slept with our doors and windows open. In our years at oyster Bay we have stayed on the Marina side, the Oceanside, and the interior buildings and generally on the second or third level. If you're in the interior buildings and on the third floor your views are greatly improved. There is no quiet side as the entire area is quiet. Air-conditioning is adequate and can be adjusted to meet your needs in each room. Nearly all of the rooms are furnished the same and the furniture has been recently updated. No matter where you stay there is easy access to the pool the ocean restaurants and if you rent a car either from the hotel or off-site you can easily travel to some of the nicest restaurants within a 15 minute drive both the Dutch and French side. Four weeks is not enough time and we plant to be there again next year.
A great place to enjoy the sun and relaxation
We had a nice, very clean studio for two with a view of the ocean, an infinity pool and beach, daily maid service, kitchen facilities, good restaurant , great bar and karaoke and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. The general manager did an impressive job of supporting all of us as the Corona Virus experience unfolded by keeping us informed, arranging for all of us to be monitored for temperature and going beyond the call of duty to help us rearrange our travel so we could get home. I highly recommend this facility.
Home away from home
If you are looking for a friendly resort that feels like home, OBBR is it. They took care of us during the corona virus & made sure we were all taken care of and got home safely, as well as they took care of us while we were here, operating daily temperature checks. The staff are family to us after coming for 18yrs. We are so thankful for this resort as it truly is our home away from home!
