Do your homework
This hotel was a huge disappointment. The food was consistently bad and poorly prepared. The app used to reserve dinners is awful—confusing, buggy, and never works properly. Our room’s AC was leaking, the bed and pillows were hard as a rock, and the pools were freezing cold. Definitely not relaxing or worth the stay.

Not imprested
The Dominican people come in and take over the report. They are loud and pushy and o not respect the rules. We paid extra for ocean view and a pool for our building only. The locals came in music blaring and took over our pool. Security came once and they told him to bugoff

Depends on what you’re looking for
Will start with the good. The food was good. No complaints The service was good. Always smiling The rooms were comfortable. Not 5 star The not so good: The “adults only” side was a scam. They put you in a building with its own pool right next door to the stage where they have music blasting all day and night. If you’re looking for a quiet vacation the adults only side couldn't be further from that. The beach is great but the chairs are packed in like sardines and there is no designated adults only side. None of the staff seem to know any answers to any questions. One person told us we needed to use the app at 5pm in order to make reservations for the next day for the restaurants, someone else told us the app only opens at 8am the day you want to make a reso and a third person told us to try 7am. The app itself opens at midnight and if you don’t grab a reso before you go to sleep you won’t be able to get one even though most of the tables are empty when you’re in the à la carts. My last complaint is partially my own doing but I fell for the time share scam. They tell you to meet them at 8:30 am for ten minutes to receive a “welcome gift” but you spend 2.5 hours getting a sales pitch for what’s basically a time share and the “free massage” they bribe you with is only for 15 minutes. It’s an absolute scam and I don’t think they should be allowed to call it a welcome gift when it certainly is not that. Aside from paying more money for what they consider “adults only”-not worth it, you basically get what you pay for. It was a decent vacation overall but most of the people we spoke to agreed they wouldn’t revisit this resort.

Sorry, never again...
We were in building 6. In our room there were no draws to store clothes, just open shelves, so we ended up mostly living out of our suitcases, which made the room look very untidy. In December the local companies send their employees to the resort for Christmas parties, this resulted in huge overcrowding around the bars, the pools, and the buffet. If you went to the buffet too late there likely would be little or no food left. If you wanted ice-cream after a meal you would have to queue up behind 20 plus people, all crowded in a very small space. This was in contrast to the weekdays, as during that time the resort was quiet. We booked for 11 days which turned out to be a huge mistake, because in the end we were counting the days until we could leave. The buffet was the smallest I have ever seen at a resort, and the variety of food was minimal. However, you could usually get something reasonable at the grill. There were always good quality loungers at the beach, unfortunately often it wasn't very quiet there due to very loud music. There were lots of vendors walking around the beach, but a simple "no thanks" sends them away. Beware the people who meet you on your arrival and promise you free stuff as they are trying to sell time shares or excursions, seasoned travellers understand what they are doing but I am always concerned what gullible young couples may commit to. The housemaids and the grounds men work very hard, and the place is neat and clean. The coffee shop was great. Would I go there again when there are no Christmas parties and less chaos, not even if it was free.
