Short work related stay
I had to schedule a last minute work trip, so I didn't have much hotel options to choose from. The Emerald had the work rate we were granted for lodging, so we chose it. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. It was ok. We had three rooms. One you couldn't see out the balcony glass door because it was not cleaned well. The other room the air conditioner never cooled and was full of dust. I guess I was the lucky one because my air conditioner worked and the room was clean. I had the same shower experience as other reviewers. The water would go from cold to scalding hot. I didn't mind because I really like hot water, but even I had to step back a couple of times. And I have a high tolerance for really hot water. So yeah, the rooms could definitely use some updating and modernizing. But they are large and comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, but one person fits ok. If you have small kids and need to get in there with them, good luck to you. However, the hotel grounds are nice. The beach is wonderful. And the view is absolutely stunning. So if you're there to enjoy the beach, the hotel is a great choice. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, choose another hotel.
NICE STAY, NICE POOL WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS......
Me and my partner were in Puerto Rico on vacation for a week. We decided to fly to St Thomas for a day/night from Puerto Rico (The flight literally was 30 Minutes). We stayed at the Emerald Beach Resort which was right down the street from the airport in St Thomas (Maybe a 3 to 5 min drive). PROS: * The views of the bay are beautiful, * It has a really nice beach with beautiful views *A beautiful pool area *Our view from the room was absolutely beautiful. (Although i do think it depends on where your room is located). *The grounds felt lush and tropical and nice to walk around. *The facility had free parking which was a plus. *It had a nice restaurant with also nice views CONS: * The room weren't the most beautiful (needed a little updating) * The airport is right next door, there was planes flying over the resort and beach (I know it doesn't sound pleasant but i didn't mind it, the setting of the beach and the views make up for it) and while wading in the turquoise waters it was kinda cool looking up at the airplanes passing by) and they only flew by so often. It wasn't bad enough where it was bothersome. OVERALL: I def would stay there again. I recommend renting a car to tour the island.
Five star front desk staff
We have stayed at the Emerald Beach resort many times on our way to and from our home on Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The only time we stay somewhere else ( and regret it) is when we get priced out. The EBR seems to range from $180 ish a night to $365! We do understand seasonal changes but that is too wide a range. That is not the point of this review. We were greeted last Sat, March 22 2020 by Ajahi on the front desk. He went out of his way to get us into a ground floor room as quickly as possible..even checking personally to make sure the room had been cleaned. Just amazing service and someone who should be greatly appreciated by management. Our stay was very nice..good breakfast with charming restaurant and bar staff. When this nightmare is over we will be back..unless the rooms are $350 plus a night!!
Surpassed my Expectations
A little pricey for a 3-star hotel, even in the USVI. However, the grounds, rooms and bar area were well maintained. Although we didn't use the pool it appeared very inviting. Many families took full advantage of it and they seemed pumped. The bartender knew her stuff. Pumping out Painkillers (famous British Virgin Islands cocktail), about 10 of them, seemed third grade for her. Yes, Teresa was that good. Although the cocktails were a bit pricey, the $25 coupon given to us by the front desk when we checked in, help significantly. I enjoyed our one day stay. If the lodging cost was less, we would have spent our entire 7 vacation days there oppose to AirBnB.
This resort wildly exceeded my expectations! Beautiful grounds and beach, good food, friendly staff, and a host of cute resort cats to boot. It was also such a good value for St. Thomas. I definitely recommend it!
