    Great Staff, Fantastic Service.

Our 9th visit to the fabulous El Dorado Royale but sadly owing to the onset of the CoVid 19 epidemic, the least enjoyable. On arrival we were surprised to learn that two of the main restaurants were already closed for refurbishment. Within 3 nights of arrival the hotel began closing down. Sadly the hotel management's communication with their guests was seriously lacking - a point we raised with one of managers, Charlee. However, nothing changed. We were moved rooms after 4 nights and moved hotels after a further 4 nights. All of which was unsettling and detracted from what was meant to be a relaxing holiday. We all appreciate that these were very difficult times for everyone and we will leave the criticism there. Now turning to the very good bits!! As usual the staff were fantastic and the service as exceptional as it has been on previous visits. The Mexican people are truly wonderful! Despite the uncertainties they faced, they provided top class service with a smile. We usually single out a few special people for praise but we believe everyone deserves a big THANK YOU! After 8 nights we were moved to another hotel. We will never forget our departure. We were in tears! As we boarded the coach all the staff formed a guard of honour, shouting, cheering, waving signs - what a send off! All of this from the wonderful people of Dorado Royale who face an uncertain future. We hope this clears up and we can return to see our fab friends. Please stay safe and healthy!

We Made the Right Choice with El Dorado

With the help of a travel agent, my family selected this resort for our winter vacation. It was highly rated, adults only, not far from the airport, and presented itself well in the photographs. We were not disappointed! Upon check in, we were served champagne and immediately taken to the registration desk. The lobby and check in process were different from other resorts. It is more like a hotel registration desk. You don’t have to sit down or listen to a hard sell on resort coupons or timeshares. It seemed that their goal was to get you to your room as soon as possible! This was very much appreciated, especially after traveling all day. Other resorts could learn from this experience. After a bit of negotiating on the room location, we selected a king size room, but needed a roll away bed and bedding. This was brought to our room within 2 hours. Fair warning though, if you are not traveling with your spouse or significant other (or even if you are!!), there are privacy issues with the bathroom. There is a large, clear window connecting the two rooms, and only frosted glass doors on the shower and toilet stall. Our swim out room was a decent size, had a small patio with two chairs, and the linens and furnishing were a very good quality. At this resort their approach to providing concierge service is by having kiosks near the buildings where the rooms are located. This was a very nice feature. We were able to go to the concierge at our convenience, make dinner reservations, and ask any questions. They made it very easy. This resort is quite large and things are very spread out. The advantage of this is there is a lot of room to walk and explore. The disadvantage is that you don’t really get a critical mass of people and it takes a bit longer to figure out where everything is located. The closest thing to a party area is at the main pool. The restaurants are also spread out over the resort. The only issue with this is that if there is a long wait for a table at one restaurant, it is a hike to get to a different restaurant. There is golf cart shuttle service, but this seemed kind of random and sporadic to us. Overall, the food quality and service at the restaurants was the best of any all inclusive I have visited. This is not true of the buffet restaurants, those were a bit of a disappointment, but the sit down restaurants were great. I would also highly recommend making reservations for the culinary theatre for one night during your stay. The entertainment was just ok, but the food was excellent. We weren’t too impressed with the nightly live entertainment. We watched portions of some of the shows, but they didn’t hold our interest long enough to stay for the entire show. Overall, the service here was excellent. Requests were accommodated very quickly. Housekeeping was timely, the refrigerator was fully restocked every day, and the concierge service was professional and efficient. One day our safe was not working properly and they had someone there to fix it within 45 minutes. A couple of minor negative comments: because of the humidity, the tile floors become very slippery; no straws are available, so you might bring your own for those slushy drinks; bathroom privacy could be an issue; American beer selections are very limited; their website is not user-friendly if you are trying to get information before your arrival; and the golf cart shuttle system is confusing at best. I would definitely recommend this resort. I would not hesitate to stay here again. It’s easy, beautiful, friendly, relaxing, and generally just a great resort spot.

    Beautiful El Dorado

This is the second time that we have been to the El Dorado Royale and we loved it the second time even more. It has very beautiful grounds and really hard working and lovely staff. We stayed in a swim-up suite, which was amazing, and had such great service from our two butlers, Rudy and Israel! The a la carte restaurants, Kampaii and Italian Casitas were really wonderful and again two of the waiters, Manuelo and Sylvestre at these restaurants, were so helpful and kind. Everyone was working hard to keep things clean and sanitized, which put us at ease. We'll be back!

    Fantastic 5* Adults Only Holiday

Me and my friend stayed at the El Dorado Royale Resort & Spa by Karisma for 7 nights from 15th until 22nd March. From the moment our coach transfer drove into the complex it had the wow factor. All staff were amazing from the bell boys taking our luggage to our room, to the staff that maintain the grounds which were kept immaculate and had lots of iguanas, the pool bar staff remembering our drinks and making sure we always had a drink and to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants and the entertainment Guacamayans bar. The evening entertainment was really impressive from karaoke, Fire show to Michael Jackson tribute show. There are so many restaurants to choose from we found that spot was our favourite place to have breakfast, we had a few favourite places we liked for dinner which were Santa FE, Kampai there was an Italian restaurant in Casitas which I cannot remember the name of. Also there was an Indian restaurant in the generations resort which is the family section of this resort which was really good it is call habb (I think). There are golf buggies that you can get on to get you around the complex as it’s too big to walk all the way round. You have access to all restaurants in the El Dorado, Casitas and Generations, but you can only use the pools in the part of the complex that you are staying in. We had a fantastic time at the El Dorado Royale it was our first time visiting Mexico and it won’t be the last. We enjoyed lazing by the pool and beach during the day. We also met some really nice people from the UK, America & Canada which also made our stay very enjoyable. Whilst on holiday here the outbreak of the Corona Virus happened and each day got quieter and quieter as guests were leaving and no one arriving so we had a choice of sun loungers. They also done a foam party which was really fun and everyone joined in. We had a twin room and I would say the only negative thing with the room we had was lack of privacy to the bathroom. There is no door to the bathroom but there is a to the toilet, which is next to the hand basin, but this is a glass door with Perspex. There was a like an inch gap around the door so you can see each other on the toilet and no lock on the door. This would not stop me from returning or recommending to friends and family
