    Value, cleanliness and Comfort

    Just right for us. Not the highest end on scale of luxury, but staff and service overall were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. We were looking for value, cleanliness and comfort and we received just that. The food and drinks were plentiful, however not the best we have ever had. I would not recommend the pizza, but really enjoyed the fajitas. If you like ice cream, you do need to ask for it. There were many choices on the buffet. The rooms were huge, comfortable and clean but very dated. The views from our room were beautiful! My husband and I enjoyed the meals in the restaurant, but the dress code was not consistently enforced which caused friction in our group as well as others. Beach towel service and snorkeling gear was not the best, we have experienced better at other resorts. Pools were beautiful and clean, especially after coming in right after Hurricane Beryl. Staff worked around the clock to clean up the beach. The hotel is also old, part of it completely closed off, but a constant drum of activity to keep it up. We would consider staying there again.

    Awesome A++++++

    The manager (Omar) immediately took care of an issue we had and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our room. I came 1.5 days after hurricane Beryl and Omar’s staff worked around the clock to clean up the debris and repair damage from Beryl. The food is good and Danny our waiter is the BEST Waiter Ever. I have never been more impressed than I was with him. One evening after Danny had left, waiter Carlos looked after us for dinner. He was super and very attentive to our needs and wants. Roberto helped us to book an island tour and it was everything and more that he told us it would be. Ask Roberto to book your tour with Landry (A++++ for her). Thanks to all the staff at El Cozumeleno beach Resort for a great vacation.

    Beryl did not stop El Cozumeleño

    We came to this resort 2 days after Hurricane Beryl. The beach was covered in seaweed. They worked day and night getting the beach cleaned.The people at this resort are so nice and accommodating. Our air-conditioning wasn't working correctly when we arrived and they change us to another room just as nice and gave us an option to upgrade. Danny at El Cocal was superb. And met us at the door for breakfast and lunch everyday. He became like family to us. Carlos was so nice and met our needs with a smile. Roberto helped us plan an island tour and was so helpful and friendly. Omar was very accommodating and let us keep our luggage in a safe place while we had one last lunch at the beautiful resort! I hope to visit this place again in the future. All the people here is so nice and friendly. If you plan to visit ask for Danny at El Cocal.. he is awesome!

    Amazing place

    Nice and quiet atmosphere. We stayed in a north part of the lower building away from the "action" and had a wonderful time. Every room facing ocean, and if you prefer to be up high, you will have a gorgeous view. Food was okay, nothing too special. Hard working stuff, keeping this place cozy and tidy. Pools are clean and well kept. Beautiful beach and the most amazing snorkeling. If you get bored and want more entertainment, take a ferry to Playa, mainland, literally 10 min taxi ride to a terminal or just enjoy downtown. We had such a pleasant vacation and will definitely go back. Speaking from almost 20 years of all-inclusive travel, please try to ignore all the high maintenance reviews :)). If you love Cozumel, down-to-earth and want to feel a little peace you will love this place.

    HORRIBLE

    DO NOT GO !This is my 2nd time in Cozumel and the fifth in Yucatan peninsula and I was amazed at how bad this resort was. Room had no phone or deadbolt, bed was visually beat up looking and couch in room looked like it was 30 years old and from a frat house. Food was dismal at best, had better at a gas station. Staff had no pride due to working there, they knew it is a dump. Pool filthy and the small of seaweed and stereo was overpowering. After one night we moved to the Melia next door, thank goidness back to a great resort type we are used to staying at in Mexico.
