Very Nice Place
#1, the property is very conveniently located next to the south cruise ship terminal. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The room was nice. The only knock was the bed was a queen verses a king. I think it was just to small. The place was safe and reasonably quiet. There was plenty of beach chairs in the pool area and on the beach, and the area was nicely kept. I would recommend using water shoes if going in the water to snorkel. The restaurant onsite had the best breakfast buffet on the island! The fresh juices, fruit and everything else was superb! The lunches were good with standard fair. The only knock was we thought the dinner menu was limited. I would recommend this hotel if traveling to Cozumel and we will consider staying here again.
Dive trip March 2020
We booked this hotel through Delta vacations. The hotel itself is nice, not super high quality, but decent location and clean. We were missing the TV remotes in the room and because it was a Delta vacations the payment for the hotel was not promptly processed through the front desk, so they were inquiring about payment for the room. This was resolved without too much inconvenience. What I liked best about this hotel was the dive center. Our dive guide & instructor Luis was A+. He was super helpful and super knowledgeable. The dive groups were nice and small and the diving right off the hotel "beach" was actually really good - some great dives just jumping off the dock right outside our hotel room!
What a wonderful time we had at La Ceiba. The staff are incredible making you feel like one of the family and taking care of your every need. The activities director, Julio Ruiz made the time so wonderfully delightful. Wonderful karaoke nights, dancing and shows plus activities all day. Thank you very much Julio for all that you do to make La Ceiba great. I would like to give a shout out to Juan Carlos in Babieca Dive for all of his assistance to make my diving experience exceptional. Very safe dive outfit. Esther made my stay very special, remembering my birthday. Andres and Roberto certainly helped making sure all of my needs were met. The restaurant, La Chopa, dining was awesome. Buffet offerings were great, but the menu choices were delicious. Thanks to Jorge and Chrisanto for looking out for us. The wait staff are delightfully friendly and attentive without getting in your way. Thank you. You make a big difference in our experience. My overall take away is that this is the best place to relax and be taken care of away from home. Come on Down!!
Our home away from home
The people of Cozumel are so welcoming and friendly. It's just a very family kind of thing. We've looked forward to coming here for 29 years. And El Cid La Ceiba has been our home away from home for many of those years. We have amigos there and look forward to seeing them.
