Great experience at El Cid
Roger Lopez, Juan, Ruby, Alejandro, and so many more did a great job at making this an amazing experience, all servers where on point in catering to us all. Everyone was very nice. Roger was great at hosting fun events and making this trip amazing, he showed us around the island and to all the greatest spots, making us all feel like family.

Has a lot of potential but need some tweaking.
This hotel has a lot of potential, but it needs some tweaking. The biggest issue I had was the buffet. Since most things were uncovered the food was covered with flies. I heard someone complain and although they did cover some food up, the majority is still uncovered. I saw birds sitting on the food in the morning pecking away. If you want clean food, I suggest you get there early. Some of the food will sit there for hours and not be changed. Guests have different statuses so if someone comes with a different band, then you at a higher status they will get served first at the bar. That’s very unfair to the bartender because most people did not tip because they were ignored. Some of these reviews stage that you can just ask for food if you don’t like what’s on the buffet we’re just no longer a case . Some of the staff can have a bad attitude, including some of the bartenders and the towel lady. I really appreciated our server Oscar. He always had a friendly smile. I enjoyed the nightly entertainment and bingo sessions during the day. The hotel is a little dated and they’re trying to hide it with bad paint jobs. They charge you $40 for last room keys and towels, and they actually went out of towels. I think as bad as probably badly managed, judging by a bad attitude on some of the employees and poor upkeep. The front desk staff was very nice.

Perfect Day Trip
We booked a resort for a day visit. It was $65/pp. We took a taxi from LaGosta pier. $15 there and $10 return. International Pier is walking distance. The hotel was perfect. Check-in easy and everyone so nice. They offered wifi and towels. We got there at 9 am and ate breakfast. Very nice buffet. Great omlets and fresh juices. The melon and cucumber so good! It poured for two hours but cleared up. Snorkeling was like in an aquarium. We entered the ocean from the beach area and from the ramp/steps. Much easier for us to enter from beach. If you are new to snorkeling, you can want to go to the beach area and climb down the ladder. We snorkel a lot and entered from the beach. It is super shallow there but just float immediately and get our there! It was our favorite place to see such a variety of fish. No coral reef but the rocks attracted the fish. Even in slightly choppy water it was easy to snorkel. There were many very small moon jellyfish. I got stung so many times. Now I have about 20+ looking red itchy bumps. They serve you lunch on the beach and drinks. The staff amazing. Jose was great. He even through in some break while we snorkeled to attracted schools of fish. The food was very good. The drinks were okay. I think we just like our drinks sweeter. The pool was clean and adequate for a short cool down. We played the large chess and tried to get some to join us in beach volleyball. Highly recommend this place.
