    The place to be

Eden Beach deserves all five stars, all superlatives. This is an ideal place to be for a laid back snorkeling holiday. Perfect location: at a walking distance to the center of Kralendijk, a choice of restaurants in the vicinity if you prefer eating elsewhere, and most importantly: by far the best beach on the entire island. You have virtually a sea view from any accommodation in Eden Beach. It's small-scale, cozy, yet has all the amenities including a good sea front restaurant, a beach bar, a diving center on the premises and an own yoga studio (yoga enthusiasts will be thrilled at the breathtaking view from the open terrace. The yoga teacher, Elisabetta Maccari, is great, and for Eden Beach guests the classes are free). The staff is friendly and helpful, the housekeeping is great (cleaning and fresh bath- and beach towels on a daily basis). We had a studio with a kitchenette, a big bathroom (good shower), powerful air conditioner, a nice terrace - top! The parking place is spacious, which is also handy if you rent one of those popular pickups. You can also board a water taxi (right there on the pier) to Kralendijk and the island of Klein Bonaire. But again, first things first: the beach. Soft fine sand, clean, enough sunbeds for all, cabanas in the front row, where you can hide from the scorching sun and still get your gorgeous tan. Birds chirping and singing overhead in the palm trees, rainbow colored little lizards on the sidewalk, pelicans, fisher eagles and frigates in the air. And once underwater, you feel like your are swimming/snorkeling/scuba diving in a huge tropical sea aquarium. Here it teems with all the fish species which are to be found on Bonaire, I believe. And sea turtles too. An important thing to remember: coral is very vulnerable. One drop of a conventional sunscreen spray or cream kills 40 square meters of coral, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wear a shirt while snorkeling to protect your back from the sun and only use sunscreens AFTER swimming. Or use a special coral-friendly sunscreen. There is a beach shower next to the pools, and restrooms on the ground floor next to the restaurant and in the pool area, very handy. The downsides: at dawn and dusk tiny, but very annoying mosquitoes might find you delicious, so get some repellents and ruin their binge party. And there is a construction going on the adjacent property, so in the weekdays there will be some noise - but we personally didn't really notice or pay attention. There are better things to do on the beach))).

    Lives up to expectations

Room spacious. Kitchen bathroom own patio. Lovely personal. We came here to be close to beach and sea so we could snorkle. Snorkling is great: loads of fish in all sorts. Fregats and fish eagle in air. Awesome. Food and drinks are good but not cheap. 2.5 km from center Kralendijk. We walked there every evening. There are good supermarkets but need transport to them. We used taxi ($20 two way). We stayed for 2 weeks, did 3 tours on island which were well worth it. Awesome holiday in awesome place.

    Can’t recommend

We had high hopes for this place, but it started out bad, and didn’t get much better. They ‘upsold’ a different studio at check in, better view, etc. but we were concerned about the constant construction noise from next door (very Loud large equipment) they told us, no problems, the workers stop early and do not work weekends- unfortunately not true. Also the beach area and pool would be peaceful except for the ‘cruisers’ that come in droves for day trips. The resort charges a day rate for them to come use the pool, beach chairs and ride the water taxi, all of this makes it very crowded and difficult for the residents that have actually paid a lot of money to stay here! The bartenders seem to be jaded and could care less. We gave up trying to get service after the first night and went elsewhere for our drinks/dinners - so much better service right down the road at Breeze ‘n Bites. It’s a decent location, and the cleaners are great, very friendly and helpful, just cannot recommend for the other reasons.

    Eden Beach Resort

Eden Beach Resort is a great place to stay. We did not do all inclusive because we wanted to check out other restaurants. The food at Eden Beach we found to be excellent. We had breakfast every morning there. They will make you an omelette, they have lots of fresh fruit and juices, lots of different coffees and teas. We sometimes st St the bar and had a beautiful evening having supper by the water. There are different options for rooms. We just got a basic room as we only sleep there and shower. The bed was a king and very comfortable and the shower was great! The snorkeling is amazing right at the wharf. The fish are beautiful and the water is so clear. Do bring bug spray. I got a few mosquito bites, they didn’t bother my husband at all, they never do. They love me. I sprayed my legs when sitting at the bar in the evening and zi was fine. It costs $10 US to go to town and the same to go back. We arranged for a taxi to take us to “It Rains Fishes” you should make a reservation the day before you go. Great food. We also went to restaurants on either side of Eden Beach, which were great. Breezes we made reservation had a table overlooking the water, awesome. We also hired a taxi that we booked through the tour booth at the resort. He took us on a tour around the island, which was great. We even went to the distillery and tried some of their drinks. So good. We took a direct 5 hr flight from Toronto Canada on Sunwing, which was excellent. I downloaded Netflix movies on my phone and brought my own headphones. They only show old reruns of TV shows. We loved Bonaire, it’s not a party place. Lots of people in there 50s, 60s, 70s. at our resort. people who like to snorkel and scuba dive. We’ve travelled a lot and haven’t seen beautiful fish like this for a long time.

    A worthwhile visit!

We didn't stay at the Eden Beach Resort, but we might consider doing so if we ever return to Bonaire. We were told that it had a nice pier where we could enter the water to do some snorkeling in very calm water, and this was truly the case. Also, for $5 a person, we were able to rent a lounge chair in the shade for the day. What could be better! Everyone was so nice and helpful, and we had a great afternoon!
