Aggressive sales tactics, unsanitary rooms
We came to Dreams Vallarta Bay with high expectations given the excellent reviews and prior experience with Hyatt resorts. Unfortunately Dreams Vallarta Bay was quite a disaster. BEWARE! 1. We were immediately met with an aggressive sales rep (Alan) selling us on additional services and purchases. After we repeatedly declined the offers, he continued to ask us to "get a time on the books" to discuss further. We finally escaped him, but the sales tactics continued the next day! We were approached on the way to the gym and cornered for 20 minutes regarding additional services. Aggressive, embarrassing, and unacceptable. 2. Where do I even begin with the room. First, the room smelled like mildew which thankfully improved with leaving the balcony door open 24/7. Second, the toilet didn't flush, one sink didn't drain, and the shower leaked water throughout the bathroom. The staff were very helpful in coming to fix the toilet and attach a rubber gasket to the shower door (why wasn't that already in place?) and fix the sink. But later, the toilet began leaking water on the bathroom floor. It's unclear if this was wastewater and certainly was a hygiene/safety risk. 3. Finally, the food is overall good, but the breakfast buffet has expired (and in one case, moldy) yogurt. Overall, we were extremely disappointed after having stayed in many Hyatt properties. We'll be looking elsewhere next time we're in Puerto Vallarta.

Great entertainment- Joel
Hotel room and swim up pool was great! Wish there was more service at our swim up but still great! Entertainment was amazing. Joel is so fun and really knows how to include everyone! So funny. Elevators were slow again this year but helped being on the 1st floor. Bartenders at the swim up bar are not very friendly. We love Hugo, our waiter in pool area!

Best resort we’ve stayed at
Still reminiscing how amazing this resort was. Minor issues: there was lights flickering in the buffet so if you have epilepsy or are sensitive to flashing lights we just asked to move tables every morning where I couldn’t see it, they were super accommodating. And we wish the pool music was better, we asked a few times if they could play some more upbeat tunes but said they have a set playlist - not the end of world. The food - best ai food we’ve had, we found churros and ice cream on our 2nd last day after we heard from someone else they had them. The hibachi was so fun, Kevin at Italian was hilarious we made it back a 2nd time and requested to sit in his section. The Mexican restaurant was also great, loved the guacamole cart, we found the portions to be huge. Breakfast was the best, just ask the omelette makers for bacon, seriously the best bacon. Lots of selection. The snack bar was always good and the restaurant beside the pool had amazing chicken wings and beef burritos for lunch. The fries were like McDonald’s fries. At the buffet they had a kid area for food and we noticed some gluten free items too. The spa - we got a deal of buy 1 massage get 2nd massage for $100 USD and gave us access to the hydrotherapy circuit. Despite the price it was an incredible experience that I’ll always remember. The spa is on the secrets side and inside the spa was beautiful like jaw dropping. The hydrotherapy circuit was so neat, you are literally shown where to go at every point (great as I am so nervous in new situations), and then we got a couples 80 min hot stone massage that was incredible. Maxi did my massage and I felt relaxed the entire trip (we did the massage the day after we arrived). The room - we stayed in a preferred club jr suite garden view. The room had garden views, pool views and ocean views. We were on the 2nd floor. Elevators were super quick compared to main building. The rooms were spacious, very clean, they had amenities included like shampoo, conditioner, body wash bottles attached to the wall in the shower, wash cloths, plenty of towels. Water pressure was great, no plumbing issues. We found them to keep our room clean throughout the day like if we went for an afternoon siesta we’d come back later and our bed was remade. There was turndown service. Ricardo our butler was awesome, we are pretty self sufficient so didn’t use him often but we’d get a txt most mornings with the activities etc going on that day, he also booked our hibachi reservation for us. My only complaint with the rooms was we could hear people next door every so often, first night we could hear the guy tossing his cookies all night and then 2nd last night and our last night a new family went into both sides of us with kids and were super loud but didn’t ruin our vacation. The pools - so many pools. They have a giant bell to wring when a whale is spotted, it was rang a couple times a day everytime we were there. We ended up going down the slide as they told us it was all ages and it was a blast, that pool was so warm. My hubby did go down early to get chairs but really wasn’t necessary, there seemed to always be somewhere to sit, and plenty of pool towels, they always left a rolled up towel on the end of the chairs and the chairs weren’t plastic beach chairs so were super good quality. The wait staff at the pools were amazing regardless if you tipped or not. Diego, Manuel, and Alejandro took amazing care of us, always made sure we were hydrated and were just great to have a conversation with. I read lots of reviews about this resort being outdated? I didn’t notice that everything looked newer and was well taken care of. When we checked in they told us we could stay in the room for late checkouts for $15USD per hour. We inquired day prior to leaving about 2 hours past checkout time, but was told to come back after 6:30pm so we did, they said if we wanted two hours we’d have to attend a 90 min time share presentation the day we left, my hubby said why did you offer that we could pay for a longer checkout time, they ended up giving us an extra hour checkout time at no cost which was greatly appreciated so we only had to wait an hour in the lobby until we left for the airport which was totally fine as there was an amazing breeze through the lobby. We will 100% only be staying at a dreams resort going forward it raised the bar of our vacations.

First family vacation
We were very pleased with everything. Our travel agent had requested certain items for our room and location and we received them all. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Our room was fully functioning and cleaned very well each day. Food was great and we never had to wait to get in for any of the specialty restaurants. The kids enjoyed all the pools. Easy to get around and walk to the beach. Great bar service and everyone was very friendly. We would go back for sure. Our kids are 6 and 2 and we all enjoyed our week stay!

Exceptional Service at Dreams Vallarta Bay! Shoutout to Poala, Armando, and Hugo!
We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and wanted to give a huge shoutout to some of the incredible staff who made our vacation truly special. Poala in the Lounge: Poala provided truly attentive and friendly service in the Lounge. She was always prompt, cheerful, and made sure our drinks were exactly how we liked them. Her professionalism and welcoming demeanor really elevated our experience in the evenings. Armando and Hugo in the Buffet: Armando and Hugo were fantastic servers at the Buffet. They worked incredibly hard to keep the dining area running smoothly, and despite how busy it could get, they always took the time to check on our table with a smile. They were quick to clear plates and refill drinks, making every meal a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thank you, Poala, Armando, and Hugo, for your outstanding work! You are all tremendous assets to the Dreams Vallarta Bay team. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
