All in all, it's a beautiful place - but be prepared for more noise at night than you might think possible

All in all, it's a beautiful place. We can't give it more than 3 stars due to the noise from: Noisy bar above us on the 2nd floor, frogs squeaking all through the night outside our door, and music till late night at the pool. Additionally, we were not aware we would be subjected to a timeshare presentation which lasted an hour longer than anticipated.

Low Quality Experience of a High Quality Destination

Save yourself the $$ and don't stay here. This is the economy Carnival Cruise version of Mexico. Love budget Carnival Cruises? This might work for you. The room is actually very nice...$400/night nice? No! But definitely relevant to that price point. The rest? Save yourself the money and venture into actual Puerto Vallarta - trust me! This resort is fine but is a FAR cry from 5 stars. Maybe 3 stars at best. Food - 1 star (the pan-asian restaurant is edible, the rest are absolute trash - if you're going for the food, save yourself the disappointment. Website descriptions are vague...that's because they suck and are all probably ran out of a single generic kitchen). The food is the most disappointing issue with this experience. This is why people don't trust Carnival Cruises or all-inclusives. They are making money because they serve you low quality ingredients & alcohol - they wouldn't make money if they served anything of quality. Drinks - 2-3 stars depending which bar you're at and who is pouring. No premium or local spirits - again don't think this is a 5 star experience. Service - 2-3 stars. Want 5 star treatment? Go into PV. Check in- 1 star (they couldn't find my reservation, took 30+ minutes to check me in after finding it. There is no 5 star treatment there). Then prepare yourself for the time share pitch - again, not a 5 star experience. Room - 4 stars. Very nice. Clean. Nice tub in junior suites. Worth the price point. Shower leaked a lot but that's not a big issue. Location - 2 stars. Beach is nasty, you will get hounded by salesman all day. Really no perk besides being closed to activities. There are much nicer portions of the beach further south & north. Overall, save yourself the money and time. I think many tourists stay here because they are afraid of venturing out to PV given the potential unknown and crime. But, PV is very safe and secure. And there is SO much more to offer at some of the local boutique hotels downtown than this basic resort. Want an all inclusive experience? Try Garza Blanca or Casa Vela's - you will spend a little more but get way more for your money. Or any of the cute newer hotels in the Romantic Zone at a fraction of the price point. Overall, would not recommend.

    Great experience overall

We had a great time at Dreams - it was a bit run down but everything was kept clean, and especially had great butler service as part of the World of Hyatt member. We enjoyed all the food, bar and the beach/poolside services. One minor hiccup - we were not able to get into some of the Secrets side restaurants like Bordeaux.

    Dream wedding at Dreams resort!

We decided to do our destination wedding at Dreams, and worked with Celeste. The whole experience was perfect! Celeste was great to work with, and the venue was amazing. All of our guests had a great time, and the food at the resort is really good too. Highly recommend to anyone looking to do the same, and this is coming from a couple who never thought we would do a destination wedding. It was truly a dream come true at the Dream's resort!

    Don't stay at Dreams Vallarta

Food was very average. There were not many options as most days you only have 2 restaurants to eat at. The hallway leading to our room on the 3rd floor was always dark (day or night) and looked and felt cheap. Like a motel 6. Room was not cleaned properly.
