  Great time, great staff.

  We are a couple in early 60’s but young at heart and this was our 8th visit to Mexico from the U K . We have been to regular riu hotels 5 times, sandos playacar and what used to be Gran porto real on 5th avenue. I booked Dreams as wanted a step up from the regular riu hotels and as prices had gone up everywhere had to up my budget anyway. We did a package with British Airways from gatwick. We arrived at 7pm so it was dark and of course it all looks confusing but in the morning we realised how easy it was to get around. Its a relatively small resort and everything is with 5 minutes walk. There are golf carts you can use too, they are zipping around or just message concierge if you need help with luggage etc We was in the preferred buildings, for us the extra cost was very small so worth doing. The rooms are the same as standard just with a few extras. We had tropical view as ocean front or swimout are extra cost which would of put me way over budget. The main difference with this hotel to the riu brand was the food in the restaurants, this is the best food i have eaten at a hotel. The only restaurant we didnt try was the mexican but the rest was very good and you would of happily paid for the meals at home. They have lots of branded drinks at the bars , even if your not preferred, and extra brands in the preferred lounge, which unfortunately can be a bit boring as theres no real atmosphere in there, but a decent drink before or after dinner is nice. Staff are amazing in mexico, we have never come across a rude or unhelpful staff member in mexico, unlike some other countries. A special thank you to Eric at the preferred adult pool, we was there from 9-5 every day and i didn’t even see him have a day off, tho i guess he must of. Jaime at the beach bar was also great and our housekeeper, Ilianet was the sweetest girl keeping our room so tidy and clean. All the staff deserve every tip they get, always smiling and how many of us can say that doing our every day jobs. The only negative is the evening entertainment isnt great in my opinion. We only went into the theatre a few times as they wasnt really our thing, in the lobby bar they do have singers and a band which was ok but did seem like an extended kids disco. The sports bar was ok if you liked the music tho the dj did take requests too. The bars at the pools close at 5pm which i think is too early, we like a drink chilling in the late sun or even when the sun has gone for an hour. The other negative was lack of cushions for the sun loungers, there isnt enough and the beds are a rigid plastic. We dont get out super early, maybe 9-9.30 and beds at the front 2/3 rows at the main pool are gone tho there are beds backing onto the beach. We went to the beach for the breeze or the adult pool where we had beds with cushions. On the whole i think this is a good hotel for the price considering the quality of the food in the restaurants. We only went to the buffet a few times in the evenings as like most hotels its not always hot food, and i do like my food hot. We rarely go to the same hotel twice but i would definitely go to a dreams again, the riveria maya hotel next to us looked lovely so i would try that in the future. All in all a lovely relaxing holiday in a very nice hotel

  Solid Stay at Dreams Sapphire

  We recently stayed at Dreams Sapphire in Riviera Maya and overall had a wonderful experience. The resort itself is beautiful, with plenty of dining options and activities to enjoy. Most of the restaurants were excellent, offering a variety of flavorful dishes and great atmospheres. However, we were disappointed with Portofino, as the food there was quite bland compared to the other venues. On the positive side, the French restaurant stood out thanks to Leleutario’s attentive and friendly service, and Cesar at the Bluewater Grill made every meal memorable. We stayed on the first floor and did encounter some issues with bugs in the room. Thankfully, the housekeeping staff was very responsive and helpful in addressing the problem quickly, which made a big difference. The highlight of our trip was the outstanding service from the staff. Miguel, David, and Joel at the swim-up bar were fantastic throughout the week—always welcoming, quick with drinks, and adding to the fun atmosphere. Miguel may be the best bartender we have had in Mexico. He always had a new drink ready for us before our current one was finished. It was unbelievable. Miguel took incredible care of us. He in particular deserves a massive raise/promotion. Dreams Sapphire is a great resort with excellent staff who go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. While there were a couple of hiccups (Portofino’s food and the bug issue), the positives far outweighed the negatives. We’d happily return and recommend it to others looking for a relaxing getaway in Riviera Maya.

  Too bad experience

  The resort has no beach at all washed away so if you’re looking for beach and sand this is not it . Resort is understaffed. Definitely not coming back here ever again

  Very nice resort, family oriented, great staff

  Very nice resort - family oriented, lots of activities, great staff. Very busy and noisy - there are some quiet spots for relaxing. The beach is beautiful, you can walk to Puerto Morelos.

  Wine with Eleuterio

  Eleuterio at the Bordeaux restaurant was outstanding. Very welcoming and funny gentleman. Made the evening enjoyable and unforgetable. I hope you have a chance to be waited on by him.
