Amazing, fantastic stay!!!
We felt very welcome from the moment we stepped into the hotel; the hotel scent is so pleasant and relaxing. Hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Resort is small but has everything you need to have an amazing stay, great for families and has activities for everyone all day. My Kids loved the hotel. Location is very central and only walking distance from many other amenities and services. Rooms are dated but I knew that before booking and that was completely overcome by the amazing staff, beautiful pristine beach with clear calm waters and delicious tasting food. Outstanding Service: The true highlight of our stay was the exceptional staff Armando our preferred club concierge deserves special recognition – he was phenomenal, incredibly attentive, and always went the extra mile to make our stay amazing Gerson our preferred club pool and beach server. He loves what he does and that reflects in his passion for making your stay wonderful and memorable. Even though he was our server for only a short time, he left a long-lasting impression. Sergio also our server in the preferred beach area was amazing and attentive to all our needs. Gustavo our preferred beach concierge, is very friendly and went above and beyond to assist us every day, your help was very much appreciated Mario also a preferred beach concierge, very friendly, always smiling and ready to help Yenni bartender in the preferred lunge was very pleasant to talk to Laura el patio waitress, was very friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs In general, every person that we interacted with was pleasant, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay an extraordinary one. Another thing I like about this hotel is that you don’t need reservations for a la carte restaurant, we were able to eat in each of them every night and food was delicious Things I would love to see in this hotel would be a hot tub in the preferred area, more options on the preferred beach snacks menu and some music on this area as well. Overall, this was an amazing stay for me and my family, and we can’t wait to come back.

So-so Experience. Lots of Hits and Misses.
Recently spent 5 nights here as a Globalist with the Hyatt program. That gets you automatically upgraded to Preferred club amenities. Pros: The beach. This is what you come here for. Shallow far out. Preferred Club gives access to many more loungers and a wider stretch of beach. Never had trouble battling for loungers. Food. Good overall for the most part. The buffet restaurant had a good variety every day. Highly recommend Portofino restaurant. Get the Volcano dessert. So good! Preferred Club lounge had great appetizers all throughout the stay. Service was slow but Olia on the beach had good food, too. I did find that the Preferred Club snack menu was lacking and wasn't very good. Entertainment. The beach and pool crew were great with a large variety of activities each day to participate in on the beach and by the pools. Water volleyball, bocce, bingo, Mexican bingo, etc. something for everyone. The crew seemed to really enjoy it, too. Nightly entertainment consisted of a fire dance and retro night. Both good. Unfortunately the fire dance show (and buffet!) was cut short due to rain so everyone ran for cover. Gym. Very nice gym and spa. Some of the equipment was older but had all the equipment you'd expect in a hotel gym. A lot better than most hotels, resorts I've been to. The A/C and staff was very nice, too. Cons: Property. It's very old and is not maintained very well. When it rained there were leaks everywhere. Also as many prior reviews mention, the main pool has so many tile pieces missing. Also, the rooms were a miss. I was "upgraded" to a Preferred Club Master Suite upon check-in but was disappointed in the overall shape of the room. No balcony. Not a single picture on the walls. No decor. No color in the suite to add character. Old furniture. Room had a hot tub but it took forever to fill up. One of the windows was covered in shrink wrap so that distorted views of the beach below from the bed. I would have rather spent time in my work office which has more character. I don't know how they could have justified this room as an upgrade from my original booking so I inquired to get my original room I booked back (Honeymoon Suite) and they already gave that away. So I downgraded to a King room the next day but at least the room had a balcony and some character to it and may have been recently renovated. However, the flower box overhanging the balcony was full of bricks! Come on, Dreams, do better! Service. Very much a hit and a miss. More of the latter. I called the front desk two times to have ice delivered to the room and it never happened. Room wasn't cleaned one day and turn down service only happened once. Also, I was turned away from the buffet restaurant for lunch one day for wearing a tank top even though the App shows a dress code for breakfast and dinner only. It was the middle of a hot, sunny day and they really expect people to dress up for lunch basically right on the beach? The property could use a grab-and-go burger or hot dog joint right on the beach to avoid this. Just as a suggestion! Also, the level of service I expected wasn't up to par on the Preferred beach. Took a long time to get drinks if there was anyone around at all! Michel, a bartender in the Preferred Club bar, did make great Tequila sunrises and other drinks thought and spent a good deal of time hanging out by the Preferred pool. So all in all, it was very much a mixed bag. I may give this place another try in the future if and when rooms are updated and service improves as a whole. But overall, it was kind of a let down.

Pleasantly surprised!
Resort was beautiful with great ocean views & had easy access to the beach. Room was spacious/clean & looked like it was recently updated. Mini bar was restocked daily with many options. Staff were friendly & accommodating. Food was hit or miss but Goucho Grill restaurant was a gem. Beach was beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs & shade. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced beach getaway- Dreams Sands checks all the boxes!

Pleasantly surprised, for the most part.
Dreams Sands Cancun was a last-minute choice and a pleasant experience, for the most part. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed, we had a great view. Buffett offerings are pretty decent, beachside service is prompt and friendly. However, there's a constant push to buy extra services. El Gaucho Restaurant conditioned us getting a table to a purchase, hostess clearly stated "you have to wait 1.5 hours for a table but if you purchase X item I could get you a table right now" many available tables were visible. The Japanese restaurant has a similar arrangement for the hibachi section. This practice is off putting and annoying!

Amazing time
My stay at Dreams was truly exceptional. The staff was warm and welcoming, providing excellent service throughout my visit. The resort offers five or six different restaurants, each serving delicious, high-quality meals. Every dining experience exceeded my expectations. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Dreams to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
