First Cancun experience
Overall a very good experience. Rough start with the room but after having maintenance come in it was alright. This is a 4 star resort with a 5 star staff. We had a Premium Balcony room oceanfront and it was very nice with a stellar view. BEST BEACH, SAND, AND WATER. Very good smaller resort experience. We will return.

Look elsewhere if you need a toilet
There was a leak in our room above the toilet where it dripped on your head when you went to the bathroom. Seemed it was toilet in room above leaking on us. Gross. Maintenance came twice but it wasn’t fixed. Then giant pain with poor communication in asking to be switched to different room. Staff at pool and restaurants were friendly. Some were wonderful. Based on room experience I recommend using great caution prior to booking.

Love the Dream Sands and its great staff!
The resort was full but we never waited for anything. Food, drinks, activities and entertainment were all very good. The staff is amazing and proud of their resort. They welcome you home and make sure you are well taken care of. The beach is fabulous. We had a premium oceanfront king room with balcony which I would recommend. The views are great and you can watch nightly shows from the balcony. We had plenty of towels daily. They restocked daily and gave us extra treats . We had wonderful ala carte lunches at the beachfront restaurant Olio and nightly ala carte dinners were all good. We had 2 special dining experiences shared with us by Aldo at El Patio. He is amazing and very proud of the restaurant he manages. We also did the petite chef experience and it was amazing. We have stayed 3 years in a row and many of the employees are original. The entertainment staff is great! The beach service and bar tenders do a great job! The drinks are not watered down and the beach service the best I have ever had. I have stayed at over 20 resorts in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera. Two things to consider. There are many other resorts better suited for children and this resort is small with limited pool space. The main pool needs repairs to the bottom tile badly. We witnessed several people cutting their feet. The swim up pool and quiet pool were fine. We really don't have any complaints and appreciate how hard the staff works to make everyone happy and keep things clean. We also like that reservations are not necessary unless your having Hibachi. Thank you Dreams Sand staff. Especially, Aldo, Fabio, Aniya, Guadalupe. They really all deserve recognition. Loving and proud they were always during our 8 night stay

Birthday Celebration
Get the Preferred Package, it's well worth it. If you like better alcohol, Preferred Package is the way to go. Plus you'll get better amenities with the Preferred Package Julio, Concierge, was amazing. The pools were too cold, even the so called heated pool. I'm going back in March 2025.

Have to Pay extra for SUN
I was very disappointed with this dreams Resort. I usually book as a preferred guest but this time since I booked late.I did not do that big mistake. I went down to the beach First day and I was told that I could not sit in certain area Because. I was not preferred so I asked where I could sit. They told me I had to go The end of the property and there was a small sliver of beach With about twenty to thirty chairs all squished together. The Sun doesn't come up there early because it is a high-rise hotel. So there was no sun.I went back and asked why I couldn't sit on the nice part of the bachThey said because I didn't pay for Preferred. I paid an extra 3. Hundred ninety dollars , so I can get Sun on my vacation. Also , there is no butler service as a preferred member At this dreams resort . I only got one turned down service The whole. Week I was there . The resort is in need of a good overhall.Ceilings In the dining area are all cracked which doesn't look very appealing. The employees work very hard. And are very pleasant. Alex the beach bar waiter What's the only one taking care of about seventy five guests , so we took a while To get your drinks back not his fault. The food was pretty decent. Portofino had good italian food . At gaucho's the food came out cold after Waiting for a long time. There were no over eighteen areas since they call tyes a family resort. There are very Minimal chairs around the pools because they Remove them when they are going to have themed evenings. So nowhere to sit. I don't recommend this resort. The Spa was excellent.
