Pretty good. 4 stars out of 5.
Very nice overall. The knee high shallow natural pool ( it's really shallow for 200m or so) was very cool. Food is really good and a wide variety. Pools are nice but I hurt my foot and so did my daughter due to missing tiles. Drinks are really well mixed and delicious. Everyone on staff is extremely nice 👍🏼... But.. lol.. I didn't like that most of the beach was "Preferred club" meaning $30-$60 usd more per day 😳.. On the regular side in the front there are huts 🛖.... that you have to rent and the are postioned in the front row and then they have a huge section blocked off for weddings and a nature reserve due to a endangered specie of tree 🌳. Sooo there would be a panic in the morning to reserve beach chairs. Really cheap 😒. All in all good though I gave it 4 stars

Do not come here!
To say I was disappointed is such an understatement. Please listen to the reviews saying how bad this hotel is. I wish I had. I thought it was just picky people but clearly it was not. Saying this resort is a 4-5 star is pure fraudulence. It is so old and run down it’s criminal especially for what they are charging. The rooms were beyond FILTHY. The lack of upkeep and deferred maintenance is simply ridiculous. It was GROSS! Management was so unhelpful and simply did not care. They showed me different rooms and each were just as bad as the last. The only positive thing was that they have a great beach. Servers were very nice in pool and beach area but the service at restaurants were extremely slow, even though u were leaving generous tips. The pools were in such bad condition with missing tiles EVERYWHERE. I can see some missing here and there but it was half the pool. Very unsafe. People were getting cut. If you wanted the nice pool you had to upgrade to the preferred side which btw they try and up charge you for once you get there, I was sent emails offering better pricing. We were beyond disappointed. What a waste of my money for my 35th wedding anniversary!!! I booked this resort because I’m a world of Hyatt member and Dreams is under their umbrella. I thought they stood behind their brand but clearly they do not. They did nothing to help but offer to be a liaison. After two hours on the phone with them and hotel management they did nothing. All I got was a 25% discount because I had to pay for the upgraded preferred side so my diabetic husband didn’t get cut in the main pool. We even got the phone line disconnected and no one bothered to even call me back. They said they could do nothing. Why will I ever trust the name Hyatt again???

BEAUTIFUL RESORT
BEAUTIFUL resort with an absolutely amazing beach. Shallow and swimmable and walkable. The service was FIVE STAR. Special shout out to Gerson, Mario, and Anahi who served us beachside and made sure our drinks were never empty. The E-Team was phenomenal - Leilani were especially helpful and fun.

Truly could not have had a better expiereince
This is the place!!!! After reading through hundreds and hundreds of reviews for dozens of different places we decided on Dreams Sands and could not have had a better time. I have to start by recognizing all of the staff members at the resort and how they all went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. I wish so much we could remember everyones names but there wasn't one person that didn't exceed our expectations. Traveling with our special needs son is extrememly daunting and stressful and the only time we travel is for his medical treatments. We came to Cancun to get him stem cells and the service and staff made it feel like a truly relaxing vacation even though we were there for a medical trip. When our son had meltdowns the staff did everything possible to help and never once judged us or looked annoyed which is very rare and so so appreciated. When the beach team saw us come down in the mornings they made an extra effort to get us a spot close to the water and pulled extra chairs over and laid our towels for us and we're just so attentive. The cleaning staff was amazing across the board in the entire hotel. Really all of the staff in every department were just phenomenal. Room service was fantastic, the buffet was delicious and we always left stuffed. The restaurants were beautiful and the service was great but we preferred the food in the buffet or room service. They shows were great and just I can't think of anything we didn't love. It made us feel like we could come back here for an actual pure vacation and not be nervous about how our son would do and navigate because the staff made us feel so comfortable. The beach was like what you dream of. It was so clean and just stunning. I was worried about seagrass being an issue but the staff do an incredible job of keeping a huge area clean and perfect for swimming. The first couple days the water was perfectly calm and flat and the last 3 days we were there we had some small waves the kids loved to jump. Every morning when we would go down to the beach it felt breath taking. This is also such a great resort for families. No partying and 20 somethings going wild. There was a pool on the other end for adults but it was easy to avoid if that wasn't your vibe. I would guess probably 3/4 of the guests were families. The next time we plan on visiting Cancun we won't even consider any other resort we are coming straight back to Dreams Sands.
