False advertisement
Be warned. That lovely picture on the Hyatt website of a pool with a swim-up bar is not how it looks. They moved back all those nice reclining seats and placed big cabanas right on the edge of the pool, which blocks the view of the pool and the ocean! Terrible move. But you can rent them for 225USD per day. They don't tell you that or show that in the pictures. Speaking of that pool, they also don't tell you it is an adult-only pool, which means 18 years and older. Now we had our 13 and 16-year-olds with us. Just them. They were kicked out. They were doing nothing but standing beside us, looking over the edge. But here is the thing: because they were older than 12, they are considered adults by the resort for payment. But not when it comes to anything adult-related, such as the pool. So I pay for an adult, have no access to the only nice pool, no alcohol, which I am fine with, so why am I paying for an adult? Oh, for the room, they say. What a scam. A manager came out and said, "Sir, if another drunk adult hits your kids, you will get mad". That is why they must leave. They were with my wife and I. Now, anyone under 18 must be supervised; I could understand that as well. But the pool rules say you are not allowed to enter the pool if you consumed alcohol 1.5 hours earlier, and they serve alcohol in the pool. So, you can understand why I took the time to post this review. Just a scam, and no one likes to be scammed. If they had refunded me the difference between adult and kid prices, I likely would not have even bothered with this review. This is all about expectations. They show this beautiful view and sell this as a family resort, but anyone with teenagers, I guess, goes into the kids' pool, which was fine for kids under 10. It had many young kids and was perfect for them I guess, but not teens or adults without kids. Next off is the preferred rate. 700 USD more. It got you Pringles in the room each day and access to only one little area of the beach, which was no better—a complete waste of money. The food was so so. Long line-ups that you could skip, all you had to do was pay 100USD for a 20-dollar bottle of wine per table. One night, at a poolside buffet, they must have had 15 tables open, but you could only access them if you bought a 100USD bottle of wine. Also, rooms were cleaned and serviced every other day, and I had to call several times to get the fridge restocked. I have been to other resorts; this is my first time in Mexico. After this, I am very hesitant to go back to Mexico if this is how they do business. I am sure there are more ethically run resorts in Mexico. Read the reviews and ask questions. Get it in writing. This resort is not all-inclusive, the food was just ok, and the pictures were not as they were.

Good but could have been great
Clean resort. Staff were attentive. A number of restaurants would only allow you to reserve if you agreed to an expensive wine package upgrade. Beaches were clean and staff was friendly. Food was not as great as I had hoped for. Room was clean and maid service excellent. Resort is in good shape. Warning - therearea lot of weddings here.

Nickle and Dime resort - Not a family resort.
First off, we travelled with a large group. We had a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old. The only nice pool, which was not very large, was adult-only. Our teens were not splashing, not doing anything, and just hanging with our group. Standing in the pool is all you can do. They were asked to leave because the pool is only for adults. Here is the thing: anyone over 12 is charged an adult rate. You pay for all the drinks they cannot have and cannot use the only nice pool. This is a family resort, it says. The kids' pool was warm and full of kids under 10. No issue with this, do not charge me for adults. The resort said sorry, they are adults for the room, but not for the pool. Brutal. For that reason, I would never return IF they charged us a kids' rate for them, no issues. I told them that, but they just said they are adults, not adults for the pool. Then there are the restaurants. The food was nothing special, and if you wanted to reserve a table for a specific time, it would cost you 100 USD for a 20 USD bottle of wine. Wait, was this not an all-inclusive trip? Line-ups were over an hour long some nights at the à la carte restaurants, so they forced you to buffet, which again, was so so. Then the pool chairs. They blocked the ocean view and the adult pool with cabanas that cost over USD 200 per day to rent. Terrible decision. Most days, they were all empty.

Lovely resort for families and couples
This was our (hubby & my) third visit to this resort. It has changed a bit from our last visit, as they have added small slides & a kiddie play area at the end of the small kids pool. Yes, it was noisy around the pool, but good noise. The activity pool was great for older kids & adults. The infinity pool is now Adult only which was great for us. We decided we did not want to hunt for chairs and shade each day, so we rented a bali bed for 5 days. It was located behind the activity pool & was perfect for us. Our pool waiter was JONATHON and he was super attentive, and a hoot! The activity team, with OLIVER & crew, was very energetic and engaging. Several pool concierge folks made our pool time lovely. Thanks to JONY, ERIK, & ANTONIO for assisting with towels, pillows, and great care. Our room was Pool Front, Ocean View, King and was large & lovely. Location on the second floor meant using the stairs was an easy option. Housekeeping & evening turndown service was superior. I did a hydrotherapy circuit with ERICA and she was an attentive guide. Their hydrotherapy circuit is lovely as it is open air and very relaxing. Hubby got a massage with JUSTINA and he was very pleased. We did the preferred club package, and enjoyed the sit-down breakfast and that gorgeous view at Seaside Grill every morning. Lunch was usually Oceania, unless there was poolside grilling. One evening we didn't feel like we wanted a whole restaurant experience so we tried the World Cafe buffet. It was almost 9:30 pm, so we didn't expect much. While the buffet was practically empty of customers, the food displayed was plentiful, hot, and delicious. We were suitably impressed. Even had our waiter offer to bring us a cappuccino, which we accepted & enjoyed. The French, Italian, and Mexican restaurants were excellent. We did not try the Asian restaurant, nor room service. Coco cafe was enjoyed each morning, and served as our breakfast spot for our early morning departure. Walked on the beach, but did not get in ocean, while many did. Loved seeing the cruise ships at night, all lit up, coming and going from Cozumel. Evening shows were outside on pool deck and quite nice. No complaints, would recommend. Used Kalido to and from airport. Great service!
