Another fantastic week
My son's and I returned this year for another week to Dreams Punta Cana. We love this resort. The long winding pool is amazing , the food selection and variety of restaurants is great , and the staff are fabulous. Joel and Lissette in World Cafe are amazing , knowing the 3 of us were together if one arrived before the others. They remembered drink orders and took great care of us. Maribel , that great , very busy waitress at the pool was always smiling and so friendly. The bartenders at the mid-pool bar are always smiling and friendly and make yummy drinks ! All the staff there make you feel welcome and they are all friendly. Dreams does a fantastic job with customer service. Preferred Club staff were awesome also . We had an issue in my son's room and they had it resolved very quickly. We all hope to return again and highly recommend it. I hope that with all of the travel restrictions and worldwide issues that Dreams is able to retain their great people.
Dreams Punta Cana family vacation Feb-March 2020
This was our second visit to Dreams Punta Cana, and it was as amazing as our first visit. Even though this is one of the older resorts, the grounds are amazing as full grown landscape blends with wildlife that is in abundance along the grounds. From turtles to flamingos to fish and parrots in the trees, this was the most serene resort we ever stayed at. In addition, the staff is so friendly, and truly make you feel welcome like family while we were there. Verlee in the UVC staff has a personality that is just as welcoming and comforting as it gets, and it appears she makes sure that each guest has a great time and the resort meets their expectations. Rigo at the pool bar greets you with a smile every time to everyone, and he takes care of business while engaging each guest there as if they were the only guest there. Would go back in a minute, and miss it already there and we have only been back home less than a month.
Fabulous resort. A must do on your list of resorts to visit!
From lush gardens to fantastic staff, this is the resort to visit in the region! We had a great week visit there. The beaches are to die for! The staff are second to none in service! If you go, ask to speak to Joel at the front desk. He can help you with all your needs. We especially liked the beach service in the preferred members area. Thank you
Shabby Chic Island Living
One of the complaints of this resort is it's due for an upgrade. Don't disagree. Dreams is older and it shows. But for me, that's part of the allure. It's kind of shabby chic island living that felt POSITIVELY right. I thought the resort was top notch. The beach was awesome. Not as many beach lice hogging chairs and cabanas as I've seen at other resorts. We took long, long beach walks. The resort’s meandering pool was so nice and relaxing. Our room was great as was the location of the room in the resort. I would always recommend Building 6. The Preferred Club was FIRST rate. Seriously, the Preferred upgrade is so, so, so worth it! The staff throughout the resort was friendly, engaging, helpful and attentive. I thought the service was excellent to the point where for the first time in a long time, I almost ran out of tip money. A shout out to Daniel in the Preferred Club and Guillermo (sp?) in the Oceana. Food was OK but that’s alright. Not bad but nothing to write home about though the Teppanyaki grill at Himitsu was fabulous – we went twice! Not much for entertainment but again no complaints there…we were there to decompress, relax and watch life meander past us…which is so easy with a nice, cold beer in hand. The Preferred Club check in process was less than desirable. I felt mishandled especially with respect to my privacy/security. And AMSTAR was HORRID! My travel agent and Apple Vacations are addressing AMSTAR. Bottom line- I'd go back to Dreams in a heartbeat and hope to return. I'd handle the check in process differently and avoid AMSTAR like the plague.
The hotel is tired.. furnishings at the reception cocktail bar seen better days.tiered rooms.Tired shower.sofas... they need to spend some money on it .. couples stayed in the same room by the pool 3/4 years a go and said it had not changed at all in that time ... the world restaurant was cold take a jumper with you ..because of that the food unless cooked in front of you was not hot..warm bordering on cold. The choice of food was superb.seafood, stakes. Mexican,Italian,French,Asian. The gardens very well kept they looked and felt well looked after. The hotel was spotlessly clean the rooms was cleane the cleaners did well, they worked hard. The service was excellent waiters male and female worked really hard to keep you happy.the pools very good lots of sunbed, lots of towels .. The beach area was just stunning again lots of sun beds, good waiter service. Wi-Fi good in your room ..but outside of that it was a struggle.. especially in the reception area .. having said that we had a lovely time and would like to go again.. sort out the furnishing. Update it ..please ..spend some money on it ..please..
