Amazing time for group / destination wedding

Really a fantastic trip. The entire resorts is greats there is so much to do. Epic restaurants. So many activities. There are so many unique pools, bars and games! The staff are friendly and super helpful. Shout out to Memo, Jose, and Edwardo. The sea legs swim up bar was a personal favourite spot, thank you to the dreams team!

    Already planning a trip back!

We visited Dreams Playa Mujeres as a group of 11 - which included two 5 year olds, a 7 year old and a 10 year old. The poolside service was perfect - drinks and food are readily available and you don’t have to leave the poolside if your kids are busy playing. Our favourite servers were Alex, Susanna, Fernando and Herberto. The variety of restaurants and menus at each restaurant was sufficient for all our kids to enjoy their meals whether it was at breakfast or dinner. The entertainment team were awesome! There was poolside bingo and bracelet making. Carlos, Ricardo and Gustavo were awesome at making sure our kids got to choose their colours and learn how to make their bracelets. Be sure to take a look at the daily show schedule which is timed perfectly for the kids to enjoy before bedtime. If you’re travelling in large groups and plan on sitting together during meals, be sure to check, re-check and even triple check your reservation to make sure you’re booked to sit together. We were only able to sit together twice in our 7 day stay, and the second time we sat together, we’d gone the extra mile (talked to the front desk, concierge, front of house staff at the restaurant, preferred club desk) to make a reservation, but our table was given away to another group even though we arrived at our reservation time. While we were there, there were a few electrical hiccups but considering we were experiencing some stormy weather, it was definitely to be expected and didn’t affect our experience too badly. Overall, our experience at Dreams was very enjoyable with just a few hiccups. In fact, our experience was so enjoyable, our group is already looking forward to future stays at other Dreams locations in Mexico.

Concerning Wedding experience at playa Mujeres

We travelled to your resort for my daughter’s wedding, bringing 51 guests with us. Unfortunately, despite the cost and the excitement we had leading up to this event, we experienced multiple issues — many of which were extremely disappointing for a resort that promotes itself as high-end. Wedding & Event Experience The entire experience felt like a cash grab. Important details such as the wedding time and our access to the banquet room were changed at the last minute, putting unnecessary stress on my daughter. During our group dinner, speeches, and first dances in the banquet hall, we were rushed out far too quickly. Considering the amount of money invested in this wedding, allowing our group to celebrate together until at least midnight would have been reasonable. The music was great, guests of all ages were dancing, and everyone was enjoying their time — yet staff shut everything down around 9 We were then directed to the windy, chilly lobby bar to wait for Spins to open. Once Spins opened, it became clear the venue caters to a very specific demographic. I am only 48 and even I found the music terrible. Because of this, our group — which included a wide range of ages — was split up, and we lost most of our guests. Had we simply been allowed to stay in the banquet hall longer, we would have continued dancing, celebrating, and staying together as a family. This was short-sighted, especially for a resort that hosts multiple weddings a day. We noticed every little thing was an extra cost and not a little cost it was significant. Despite the constant cash grabs and sneaky time changes we made the wedding day the best it could be. I do hope the hotel looks at this as an educational experience and prioritizes keeping families together to celebrate and eases up on the cash grab opportunities. Serious Concerns With Medical Care & Safety As a critical care paramedic, I was extremely alarmed by the lack of training and equipment among your health-care staff. We had two medical incidents during our stay: 1. My mother-in-law fell and split open her top lip, clearly requiring stitches. The resort physician arrived with nothing but gauze. He confirmed my assessment but said he could not administer lidocaine to perform stitches — meaning she would need to go to the hospital for even basic care. We did that and 6 hrs later, 4000$ and 11 stitches. They were very concerned about her travel insurance amount more then initial care - which ok we are in a private system but once they seen her lofty amount all of a sudden it was a plastic surgeon doing the stitches not the ER doc this was not a complex wound and did not need a plastic surgeon 2. A 76-year-old woman collapsed near the lobby bar on my daughter’s wedding day. A nurse and I assisted her, and I requested a cardiac monitor immediately due to concerns of a cardiac event. It took several minutes just to get basic equipment, which is unacceptable in a time-sensitive emergency. • The blood pressure cuff provided by the lifeguard did not function — it wouldn’t hold air — and the lifeguard did not seem to recognize this. I fixed it for him he had zero idea how to fix the issue and would have used it regardless he was trying to tell me it’s fine works fine- it did not. • The stethoscope was also broken, with one earpiece missing and neither side of the bell working. Had to wait for the physician to use his stethoscope • When the physician finally arrived, he had no cardiac monitor, no AED nothing despite being asked to bring these items. The doctor stated “he did not have a cardiac monitor on site” despite the resort being 20–25 minutes from a hospital. I was also told that if an ambulance is called, the patient must be transported, even if not medically necessary. This is highly concerning. In most countries, paramedics can assess the patient, run diagnostics (including ECG, glucose, vitals), and determine whether transport is needed. Your process appears designed to force unnecessary costs onto tourists — physician fees, ambulance fees, hospital fees — even when basic on-site assessment could prevent that. For elderly guests without insurance, this could mean bills exceeding $10,000. This is not only unethical — it’s dangerous. If someone were experiencing a heart attack, your medical team has no monitoring equipment, no cardiac medications, and no plan for the 20-25 minute delay before an ambulance arrives. That is terrifying, especially for a luxury resort. I was looking around afterwards and I couldn’t find 1 visible AED Overall We paid $3,700 for one week, and while the rooms were clean, and nice the repeated disappointments overshadowed a lot of things — from the mishandling of our wedding event to the shocking lack of medical preparedness. To food quality For a resort that hosts countless weddings and charges premium prices, the experience should have been seamless. Instead, it was frustrating, stressful, and at times unsafe. You market yourselves as a luxury hotel. Please act like one. Our daughter’s wedding deserved better.

    Amazing!

Tony, Gabriel, Ricardo, Carlos, and Brian, the entertainment group, made our experience awesome. They hosted volleyball, waterpolo, and crazy games with different activities which if you had won you received a price. Honestly I loved everything but specially it was awesome to hangout with them. I want to shout Ricardo and Carlos specifically which were the ones me and my sister most talked to and had a blast with. I thank everyone that was part of the entertainment group for the great time you guys gave to a bunch of families!

    Awesome

Whenever I travel to Cancun and I stay at DREAMS PLAYA MUJERES GOLF & SPA I always look for Alejandro and Jaime because they go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They work poolside and beachside concierge. Friendly is not the word I. Would use to describe them they are like family. The chefs at the world cafe buffet are also very nice and accommodating with special orders like oso buco.
