Overall we had a great experience here. The food at the restaurants was great, loved that reservations were not required. The beds were comfortable. The entire resort was very clean. There were a good amount of chairs at the pools, The only disappointment was the mini bar in the room was supposed to be restocked daily and we only received more water once during our entire stay, even after I left a polite note asking for more water and soda

Amazing Resort and Incredible Staff — Perfect Wedding Destination
We had our wedding at Dreams Playa Mujeres, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We spent an incredible week surrounded by family and friends, and everything exceeded our expectations. We coordinated our entire stay through our amazing travel agent, Mitch Torren from Tripguy.com, and I can’t thank him and his team enough for organizing the travel, accommodations, and transportation for all 85 of our guests. Everything ran seamlessly thanks to their hard work and attention to detail. The staff at Dreams Playa Mujeres were absolutely outstanding. The service was impeccable—servers were constantly checking in with drinks and food at both the pool and beach, always with a smile. Our wedding coordinator, Erika, was phenomenal. She went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and handled any hiccups with complete grace and professionalism. We stayed in the Preferred Club, which we highly recommend. The lounge always had fresh, rotating food options and excellent bartenders—especially Mario, who quickly became our favorite. He always greeted us with a warm smile, remembered our drinks, and even decorated our pineapples and coconuts to make them extra special. His kindness and creativity made our stay truly memorable. Our trip happened to overlap with Halloween, and the resort hosted a fun event and costume contest that added such a festive, lively touch to our stay. I wish I could personally thank every single person at Dreams who helped make our wedding, and our guests’ experience, so wonderful. It was the perfect setting for the celebration of a lifetime, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend Dreams Playa Mujeres!

Nov 11, 2025Mediocre 2nd Trip to Dreams Playa Mujeres
This was our second visit to Dreams Playa Mujeres, and we returned with high expectations after an amazing experience back in 2022. Unfortunately, our most recent stay didn’t quite live up to our first. The resort now feels a bit outdated and not as well maintained as before. We experienced a few issues, including a small water leak under the bathroom sink, a safe that needed new batteries, an unreliable Wi-Fi connection, and a few power outages that affected the entire property. The dining experience was also disappointing this time. The World Café was repetitive and bland, with food that was often dry and overly salty at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We were excited to finally try L’Etoile, the French restaurant, since we couldn’t dine there during our last trip due to the age restriction of our kids, but the food was just average. Gaucho Grill was another letdown, offering a similar experience to what we had before. Maris turned out to be our favorite restaurant during this trip. Their Prime Steak was surprisingly delicious for a seafood venue. For lunch, Tides remains a great option with tasty burgers and fish tacos, especially if you prefer not to eat at the outdoor cookout or near That’s a Wrap. We skipped Mezes, Fusion, and the Hibachi restaurant this time. Hibachi is the only restaurant that requires reservations through the app, and unfortunately, no time slots were available during our entire stay. The other restaurants operate on a first come, first served basis. If you plan to dine around 7 to 7:30 p.m., be prepared for a wait and grab a buzzer, which conveniently works anywhere around the resort. We also booked a couples massage during our stay. While the masseuses were excellent, the spa facilities themselves were underwhelming. There were no hydrotherapy options or warm water soaks, just a sauna, steam room, and a small pool for soaking. It wasn’t quite worth the time or cost in our opinion. Hopefully, Secrets next door that's currently being built will offer a better spa experience and Dreams guests can also use it. One highlight of our trip was the XCaret excursion, which we highly recommend. The only downside is the two-hour drive each way, but the experience makes it worthwhile. If you decide to skip the dolphin excursion offered at the resort, XCaret has that option as well. Plan your day accordingly and don't miss the ride back home! They do not wait! Lastly, as UVC Platinum members, we noticed that the upselling has become relentless. We usually decline any member meetings, but this time they tried a new tactic, claiming that our Hyatt and UVC accounts were not linked and that we needed to visit in person to verify. It felt a bit pushy and unnecessary, especially when all we wanted was to relax and enjoy our vacation. Overall, we still appreciate the beautiful property and have fond memories from our first visit, but this second trip was definitely less impressive. We hope management takes note and brings the resort back to the high standards that once made it such a great destination.
